Chapter three (Who really got fired?)

     After Henry left, everyone returned to what they were doing before the whole thing that had transpired.

"Awfully nice for a luna aren't you? Why do to even care about the humans?" Alyssa asked.

"I have been trained to be a fearless, ferocious, and dangerous killer werewolf, but that doesn't mean I should behave so towards the humans. All those traits i have been trained to possess is so i will not be seen as too vulnerable to lead the hybrid pack not to vanquish the humans." I replied.

"That's nothing but cowardice if you asked me." Alyssa said.

"I didn't ask you." I replied.

"Whatever." Alyssa said.

"I noticed that some of your werewolf traits reveals itself whenever you get angry." I said.

"Yeah, so? It's my life and i will live it the way i want to." Alyssa retorted.

"Judging by the fact that the secrecy of the existence of werewolves lay at risk, i don't think it's just your life Alyssa." I replied.

I and Alyssa continue to debate with each other in whispers until it was time afternoon and time for us to take a break.

Alyssa left for the break but I stayed back in the office and proceeded with my work.

After some minutes for the break passed by, Julia approached my desk.

"Aren't you going out for lunch?" Julia asked.

Julia already had lunch and had just returned.

"No. At least not until i'm done with this." I replied.

"That's what you constantly say. It's no surprise to anyone that you are always awarded the most hardworking employee of the year." Julia said.  

"Every fucking year." She added.

"Well, i'm glad you see it that way." I replied.

"Don't tell Alyssa i said this but Henry is right, you are ten times hotter than Alyssa and any other lady that works in this company." Julia said.

"Haha. Don't worry about that. Your secret is safe with me." I replied.

"Haha. Okay, so, i have two questions for you." Julia said.

"Hit me with it." I replied.

"The first one is, why are you always dressed in red?" Julia asked.

"Haha. I never thought anyone would notice. The truth is that, red is my favorite colour. I'm just into it." I replied.

"It's good you made that clear to me." Julia said.

"Any problem with my outfit colour?" I asked her.

"No, not really. It's just that a lot of rumors have been spreading around about you. It's related to your outfits i guess." Julia said.

"What rumors?" I asked.

"Some people are saying that you always dress in hot read outfits so you can seduce the boss and get more pay. Some say you already have a secret affair with him and dress like this to work only to impress him." Julia explained.

"What?! That's not true. I dress like this because it makes me happy, not for the boss." I retorted.

"Well, at least now i know i can speak on your behalf when such topics come in." She said.

Now i know how right the alpha is. I really need to be alert bat all times.  

I'm always so engrossed in my work that i hardly pay attention to what is happening around me.

I have gone to Mr Stark's company many times to deliver some important papers to him personally.

I never, for once, suspected that such rumors would exist about me.

"What's your second question?" I asked her.

"Why are you so, you know?" Julia said.

"So what?" I asked.

"I don't really know a nicer way to put it." Julia said.

"Put it any way you can. I'm very busy at the moment." I said.

"Let me put it this way. You don't like joining in on conversations and you don't seem to enjoy people's company. I mean, like friendship and stuff." Julia explained.

"I know you and Alyssa talk but I wouldn't call what you two have, friendship." She added.

"Let's just say, i'm one of those people who preferred to be alone." I replied.

Julia was about to say something else but Alyssa walked in.

"I can see that some people enjoy gossip more than their actual life, if they had any." Alyssa said, referring to Julia.

Julia stood up from beside me, hissed, and walked past Alyssa.

"Ew." Alyssa said, as Julia's body touched hers.

Alyssa took her seat and turned to me.

"So how do you feel?" Alyssa asked.

"Last time i checked, i wasn't sick." I answered.

"Are you that ugh!? Did you think i wouldn't be paying attention to your little chit chat with Julia?" Alyssa questioned.

Hm. I didn't think that she would listen in on my talk with Julia.

"How does it matter to you how i felt?" I asked her.

"It doesn't. I just want to know how the luna feels about gossiping her devotee." Alyssa said.

"I don't have the time for this Alyssa. Get to work." I ordered.

"Of course, great luna." She said.

She turned to her desk and started working on some papers.

Hours passed and we were all still at work.

After some time, minutes before it was time to close for the day, Henry walked in.

He started putting his things back in it's rightful place.

Everyone was surprised to see him back in the company.

"What happened Henry? You got your job back?" Julia questioned.

"Yeah, he knows everything now. The real truth about it all." Henry replied.

Alyssa arose from her seat and walked towards Henry. She stopped in front of him and looked straight at his face.

"I just hope you didn't say anything to the boss. If you did then just fear for your life, because i will make it a living hell." Alyssa said.

Henry only looked back at her.

"Oh, don't bother yourself about that Miss Alyssa." Mr Stark said, standing by the door.

And for the first time, i saw the word surprise written all over Alyssa's face.

I guess there is a first time for everything.

Mr Stark walked fully into our office and stood between Alyssa and Henry.  

"I've checked through the security cameras. Any idea what I saw?" Mr Stark said.

Alyssa looked straight into his eyes but said nothing.

"I will tell you what I saw. You know what? Why speak when I can just show everyone." Mr Stark said.

He snapped his fingers and a man that stood at a little distance away from him gave him a laptop.

He opened it and showed everyone the video of what had really transpired between Alyssa and Henry.

I got worried immediately, not because Alyssa was caught but because of the way she did what she did.

Like a werewolf.

The camera must have caught that right?

I watched the video with everyone else and i didn't see anything like that happen.

Instead, the video looked like it had been tampered with.

At least she wasn't caught.

"So you would let someone else suffer for what you did? You would stay and watch this young man here get fired for what you did?" He said angrily.

Everyone started to murmur. I could here them clearly.

"I can't believe Alyssa would do such a thing." One said.

"Just look at the way she is keeping silent. So shameless." Another said.

I just hope Alyssa won't hunt them down after this.

She has really big anger issues.

"I won't fire you." Mr Stark said.

Trust me on this, jaws dropped.

"Yes, i won't fire her. I will pardon her for her act." Mr Stark said.

"But sir..." Henry said.

"No buts. I am familiar with the fact that she practically cost you your job but i have my reasons for what i did." Mr Stark cut him off.

"If i may ask sir, why are you doing this?" I asked from nowhere.

I had this gut perception that there is something wider than this. Something that i was definitely not seeing and i need to get to the bottom of everything.

"Excuse me?" Mr Stark said.

"May i know why you are doing..." I said.

"Since when did you start to question my authority Andra?" He cut me off.

"I don't need to explain anything to anyone and that is final." He added.

Mr Stark closed the laptop and gave it to the man who handed it to him at first.  

They both leave the typist section and the gossips start over again.

Alyssa turned to Henry.

"I bet you wish i got fired. Too bad. I didn't." She said with a smirk.

Henry turned to leave but then Alyssa held him by the wrist.

"What is wrong with you?! Let go of my arm!" Henry screamed in pain as Alyssa squeezed his arm harder and harder.

I grabbed Alyssa's arm immediately and forced her to let go of Henry.

"Let go of him!" I said and squeezed her wrist harder than she must have squeezed Henry's.

Alyssa looked straight at me, i frowned at her then she released Henry.

"Are you crazy?! I'm not even sure you are human!" Henry yelled and ran away.
