A few birds perched on the quiet maple tree, glancing around cautiously before leaping off again toward some unknown destination. The large tree clung stubbornly to its last shreds of dignity, desperately trying to hold on to a few remaining leaves, refusing to yield to the harsh winter.

The leaves, however, seemed resigned, as if saying, 'Winter has come—why cling on unnecessarily?'

Underneath the tree sat a troubled young woman whose face was flushed and whose eyes revealed a deep sadness. This woman was none other than Charlotte. She stared at the piece of paper in her hand, her eyes filled with murderous intent.

Clenching her teeth, she crumpled the paper in her fist. “Lucy, you're a lucky one, huh?” Charlotte muttered under her breath, clearly furious, though the cause of her anger was unknown.

Soon, footsteps could be heard approaching. Charlotte quickly hid the note in her sleeve, her demeanor transforming in an instant. She smiled warmly as she greeted the passersby.
