Back home, Maxwell had planned to go to the office for a meeting, but the two children begged him to teach them how to swim. Cassidy even tugged at him with such adorable persistence that Maxwell couldn’t resist.

So, Maxwell rescheduled his meeting and stayed home, teaching them to swim for the entire afternoon.

Caleb was a quick learner and could now swim as fast as a fish in the water. Cassidy, on the other hand, started off eager to learn. But she got scared and refused to continue no matter how much Maxwell comforted her.

So, Cassidy sat by the pool for the rest of the afternoon, watching her father and brother swim.

Caleb noticed that Cassidy had eaten three ice creams throughout the afternoon and whispered to Maxwell, "I suspect that Cass just wanted to send us off to swim so she could eat ice cream while Mommy’s not home. This way, no one would stop her."
