Jennifer walked to the window and opened the curtains. She leaned against the wall, gazing at the scenery outside. Then, she froze when she saw a figure standing under the streetlight.

Was that Maxwell? Who else could it be if not him?

Had he lost his mind? Why was he standing out there in the pouring rain?

Jennifer quickly drew the curtains. She pressed herself against the wall and shut her eyes. Out of sight, out of mind. She didn't care what he wanted to do.

Reason told her she shouldn't go out and get involved with him again. He was ruthless, and everything he did was for his child and family.
