Simon didn't immediately start his car. Instead, he quietly stared at Laura's figure with a darkened gaze. It wasn't until she was almost out of sight that he drove up to her.

Laura never expected to see him, thinking he had left.

"You…" Laura's eyes watered.

Simon had taken advantage of and humiliated her in the past. Yet, he was still the light in the dark when she needed it the most.

In that aspect, he was leaps and bounds better than Michel.

Michel was the one who pushed her under the bus. But Simon was the one who saved her.

Laura got in his car again and thanked him. "Thank you, Mr. Moore."

Simon was focused on the road. "Don't thank me yet. I thought I would give you a few days to rest. It was you who forced yourself into my bed. So, don't blame me for going through with it."

Laura's heart dropped and she gripped her bag tighter. She still trembled when she recalled last night's pain.

How could she forget? Simon was not a kind man and expected to be repaid for his deeds
