"I think……." the first officer started to say.

"No, I don't think he's the one," the other officer interjected firmly. "The guy's too old to pull off that kind of job and make it down from the building. Let's not tarnish our reputation by accusing the wrong person."

The second officer's gaze pierced into me, his eyes scrutinizing every detail of my appearance. He seemed to be looking for a reason to believe I was indeed the culprit, but after a long moment, he simply shook his head and turned away. The two policemen walked off, their footsteps echoing in the vast, open space of the airport.

As the sound of their voices faded into the distance, I let out a quiet sigh of relief. It was a close call, too close. My heart was still pounding in my chest as I watched their retreating figures.
