Gotten to Know

As forgiveness set in the air, I uttered a heartfelt apology, my voice filled with sincerity and remorse. "Now, I know. I'm sorry," I murmured, lifting my gaze to meet Mom's and Grandpa's eyes. In a tender moment of understanding, they both smiled, a silent gesture of acceptance that spoke volumes.

Their smiles bridged the distance between us, and with unspoken reconciliation, they drew closer, enveloping me in a warm embrace. "We have forgiven you," Grandpa's voice carried relief and love, his words a balm to my wounded soul.

Just as the air was thick with sense of unity, a familiar voice broke through the moment. "Am I being left behind here?" Nathan's voice cut through the intimacy, drawing our attention back. Surprised, we turned to see Nathan standing there, curiosity and concern etched on his faces.

"Nathan!" Angela's voice rang out in shock and joy as she rushed to his side, her worry shown in her eyes. "Are you okay? Do you feel any pain? How did you react when you found out?"
