Chapter 561 Permanently Silenced

Calista's gaze slid down from the frown on Lucian's face, passing over his throat as he swallowed. Then, she watched the rapid rise and fall of his chest before her attention was directed to a certain area.

He was turned slightly on his side. So, nothing obvious could be seen. However, it was clear that he was not having a good time with how raspy his voice had become. Calista raised a brow at him triumphantly.

"Your legs are broken. But, sure. Keep playing the tough guy. Serves you right. You'll just have to put up with it."

Then, she went straight to the adjacent bed, lifted the covers, and climbed in. Once she was comfortably lying down, she switched off the lights.

Lucian had just laid in this bed. His scent continued to cling to the sheets. When her face touched the pillow, his smell filled her senses. It was reassuring.
