Maxwell’s POV

When I had first left Anastasia's side, comforting her after the despicable trauma my own father inflicted upon her. I went straight to the authorities to make a report but the recent fight between me and my stepsister, I didn't get the chance to tell her she was needed in the station for evidence.

If I could avoid her getting involved I would have but they couldn't arrest my father without evidence and a statement from the supposed victim herself. That was how those conniving bastards put it.

The victim didn't make a statement, no evidence existed for the harassment so they couldn't just arrest a man of good, honourable social standing. I have never felt more disgusted at my father's use of his big, partial advantage with his power.
