Henry's POV.
"I don't think that girl is good enough to continue the dare," George said. I kicked the ball in the post and ran back after it.
"Good! Good Henry!" Coach yelled and blew his whistle as we took our positions and continued playing.
I shook my head at what George had said as I raced after the ball with Ray hot on my tail.
"That's not it. She didn't know that's why, I'm sure she touched the scar unconsciously." I responded to George and he scoffed before dribbling past me and taking the ball from me.
"Are you sure? Or she's trying to play the saint, the one who would change you?" George asked and I laughed.
"Focus! George and Henry!" Coach yelled at us and I ran past George faking going to his right when I swerved towards his left and rolled the ball away from him and under my feet before giving the coach a th
Eleanor's POV.I walked silently into the swimming arena as I thought of Henry. My thoughts are all over theplace and finding out that I had feelings for him didn't make it easier to think straight.I shook my head and grabbed my swimsuit from the locker room before pulling open the doorsof the swimming arena.Emy and Daisy seemed to be gossiping at the lower seat in the bleachers, they had changedinto their swim suits already and had pulled their hair into a pony tail. The janitor worked besidethem cleaning the floors and they didn't even bother to leave as they rose their feet. I scoffed attheir rudeness but ignored them.Olivia, who was still in her outfit for the day, with her duffel bag on her lap, was talking tosomeone on the phone and I could only guess it was a guy from the way she looked bored. Shewas beautiful so she had ma
Eleanor's POV.The bus was already waiting outside when we all rushed out and I could hear the sound offootball slamming against the floor from the indoor court and I knew Henry would have goneback to practice.I could imagine his coach being angry at him for coming late and missing half of practicebecause of detention. Part of me felt guilty that it was all my fault that he might get punished butthen I remembered that Jane had been one to bully me and start the whole ruckus."Eleanor, aren't you coming?" Mrs Smith called from the yellow bus that had 'Lions Swim Club'written boldly on it with the head of a lion at the left. I snapped out of my thoughts and made myway to the bus taking the first seat as everyone distributed quickly around.Emy sat at the back with Daisy beside her, Olivia sat at the middle left and Silva middle right.Leavin
Eleanor's POV.I could feel myself falling through the air as I looked up at Ryder in surprise that he would let mego after catching me and preventing me from falling earlier. I watched as his confused featuresof having bumped into me slowly melted away as his lips curled into a smirk and his cold greyeyes filled with amusement.I couldn't only look at him in horror as I didn't have the time to prepare for the fall, I put out myhand to break the fall and I heard the sound of my bone cracking on my wrist before my back hitthe cold hard floor and the rest of my body followed. An intense pain shot through my hand and a silent scream escaped my lips as my eyes filledwith unshed tears and I closed them before folding myself on the floor feeling my swimsuitstretch beyond its limit as it threatened to break out revealing my naked skin to the asshole whohad dropped me.
Eleanor's POV.It didn't take long for the nurse to fix my wrist and wrap a bandage around it before giving mesome drugs to take to speed up the healing process.Luckily it wasn't serious and she said it would be better in a few days. We thanked her andmade for the swimming pool outside. The sun was blazing hot against my skin and I desperately wanted to throw myself into theswimming pool but Mrs Smith had already told me that I was going to sit out of this training andwhile it angered me I understood that it would be really hard to swim with a broken wrist. We both found our way back to the field as the rest of the girls just came out of the shower andtook a seat just beside the girls from West High. They didn't look so bad and while I didn't wantto judge a book by its cover, I knew they were going to be nice. We all greeted and their coach and o
Eleanor's POV.Henry drew his hand away from my face and I suddenly missed his touch against my cheeks as I cleared my throat at the awkward silence that passed between us.Henry chuckled. "You're my girlfriend and it's time I start treating you like one. We should take our dating more seriously," Henry said and I blushed before hitting his shoulders."We are fake dating, remember it's not real," I said and Henry smirked, taking a piece of pizza and taking a huge bite from it."Yeah but no one needs to know that. We have to make it real so Charles would leave you alone," Henry said, reaching for the can of drinks and snapping it open.Of course, it was all for Charles to leave me alone, but why did it hurt me so much hearing Henry say it so absentmindedly like he wasn't feeling the same way I was feeling?"Speaking of him, has he called you again?" Henry asked and I snapped out of my thoughts and nodded."Yes, he did. He sent me a tex
Eleanor's POV."You're such a headache," I grumbled as I stood on my feet and stretched my muscles, not knowing what to do after the awkward situation with Henry."I know," Henry sang as he yawned before adjusting himself properly on my bed and closed his eyes. But I wasn't going to let him get any sleep and I took his hand as his eyes flew open and confused."Get up, we're going to learn Algebra," I said as I pulled him up so he was in a sitting position and he grumbled sleepily."But I don't want to, I really hate calculations," Henry said, reaching for my pillow and I pulled him up so he was standing on his feet and I ushered him to the second seat just beside mine. I turned in the lamp so the light shone on my homework that I had been doing.Henry let out a gasp. "What the hell is all this shit?" He asked as h
Henry's POV.I listened to the explanation Eleanor was giving me concerning the simultaneous equation I was having troubles with and while I already fully understood it and was even solving questions on my own, it was still nice having her explain it to me.After she had offered to tutor me in my weak subjects and confessed the real reason she had done the homework for me.Something about the way I saw her changed. It was like she was a whole new person and I found myself drawn to her.Originally, I had wanted to kiss her earlier because she was looking so beautiful underneath me but right now, I wanted to kiss her because of the person she was.She was beautiful no doubt, but at the same time I could see how beautiful she was inside too. She was caring, thoughtful and very smart too. It's been a while since any one had done anything for me, even while I was a child and my mother would leave me alo
Henry's POV.When I got home, a feeling of dread came over me and I pulled my bike to a stop parking just outside my home.It was dark inside and lonely. A part of me wanted to run away and back to Eleanor's house but I knew it would make me seem like a little bitch so I took off my helmet and walked towards the porch.I pulled open the door and I was met with darkness, the sweet scent of air freshener filled my nose and I knew the cleaning lady had arrived just this evening after I left.I didn't bother putting on the lights as I was used to coming home to the darkness so I just navigated through the stairs and into my room, slamming the door shut behind me.Throwing my bag on the floor, I took of my jacket and fell on my bed, closing my eyes as I reimagined Eleanor's face in my head.I've never felt
