"I can't be pregnant," Maya muttered again. Disbelief in every inch of her voice. There was something the woman wasn't getting right; she just couldn't. Hell, how could she even become a mom?

Growing up, she'd thought it'd take some ritual with a beautiful soul to be a mom, whatever that meant. Was she fit? Was her body healthy enough to take something so delicate?

She was scared and amazed at the same time.

She placed her hand on her stomach, clutching it inwardly and smiling as if she were part of the world's eight wonders. Creating life.

Right in her little stomach, that didn't seem to increase in weight. She wanted to suddenly find out how many days it took to get a bump.

Damon was saying, "Ma'am, you can't just look at her and say..."

For the first time, Maya heard his voice shake and almost laughed. Look at him all shaken now, listening to the consequences of his actions.

"To prove I know what I'm talking about, she can come to the hospital tomorrow so we can get a proper test,"

His voice was calm again, and his eyes held hers in place. "Maya, you're making a mistake.""You are not in a place to tell me if I make a mistake!" She screamed at him, the pain in her voice making him flinch, "It's my baby, alright!""It's my baby too," He took several steps forward, placing his hands on her face, "Hell, we never knew we were going to come to this mess in the first place!" Her voice was low, and she sobbed, "It's not a mess. It's mine...""Stop this, Maya!" She held his hand, quickly placing it on her abdomen in a desperate attempt to get him to agree, but he pulled back his hand."What are you so scared of? Huhn! How does a pregnancy hurt you?...""You don't want to know!" He clenched his fists at his sides, shutting his eyes so she didn't see the emotion beginning to bristle. She sat behind him in the car as he drove, popping up in a familiar environment she had frequently visited, most times passing nights so that she wouldn't go home to deal with Anna's tantrums. It was in a neat neighborhood, all thanks to Abby's mother, who had left it for her only child before passing away three years earlier.Maya loved this place; it was because of the memories associated with it since they all involved her favorite person in the whole wide world, Abby. Now she took in the environment as Sir Derinem rode on the tarred road before he took a turn. He began to talk into the earphone, "Yeah, Luca." He waited, "no, about to. But we're almost there anyway. Did you get it? Both of them? Alright,"As promised, he pushed everything aside and began working on getting her out of the manor. Derinem's final decision was to go to the US, to which Luca objected, saying that would be the first place Damon would look for her, especially when he found out it had been with Derinem's h

"We are even now," he said lightly, almost happily, making her grow confused. She could feel her rage seeping in, and it was all she could do not to cry it out in front of him. She was disappointed and frustrated. She was this close. How could he do this to her?How could he think they were even because she had shot him? A hundred of his life could not make up for everything he did to her.She opened her mouth when he quickly raised his fingers to his lips. "Hey," he whispered, "not one word; your luck might run out."She looked away from him, defiance on her countenance, her ears itching as she heard him chuckle away. He hel

Derinem wasn't joking when he said he would do something about it; Damon was expecting it in the wrong direction.*****The following morning, Greta was pushed in by a sleepy-eyed Lina. Unlike the smile she usually had on her face when she came visiting, this time, the vexation stuck on her countenance, making her look older."Push this thing faster, Lina." Frustrated, Lina grunted. It was not enough to get woken up at five on the dot to pick up an unexpected visitor from the airport; she also had to take whatever fury the woman had brewing. She had never seen Greta bubbling with anger before, and she wondered what had happened.Lina looked and saw Maya come out of the kitchen with a glass of water in her hand; when she saw Greta, she smiled as she walked toward them. Her hands open in an embrace, she hugged Greta but was quizzical when the woman didn't hug her back warmly like she always did. Maya pulled back, her face growing hot, still smiling nervously."Greta, I never knew you w

Gianna blinked, facing the immaculate white walls and the beeping that sounded far away. Unable to feel her body, she decided she was in heaven.Only heaven could feel this painless; only heaven could feel this safe, well, heaven and Zayne's presence, but since he wasn't in sight, maybe she was in heaven. She waited for the angels to take her into paradise, wipe the tears from her eyes, and tell her she would be okay, that the earth was never her place anyway, that she'd fallen. The image of Axel holding the sledgehammer with a sick smile while watching her scream in agony had tears filling her eyes. She was never meant for this brutal and sinful world anyway. She wondered if Zayne would find her dead body. She wanted to cry out for him, tell him she was sorry she had gone off track, and cry that she didn't deserve him, but it was too late; she was dead.Or was she..."I had a feeling you'd open those eyes today." When her eyes met him, he smiled. The thud of her heartbeat was loud now as she quickly looked around for a place of escape."Welcome home, Bonbon," Axel laughed. "I told you we'd meet again, didn't I?
