Daisy's back hit the mat with enough force to knock the air from her lungs. Stunned, she blinked up at the ceiling, trying to catch her breath. Pith looked at her and shook his head. Daisy's heart beat sped up when she found Bret's key to her apartment lying on the center table. A small sharp ache pierced her chest.
