The constant vibration of my phone annoyed the hell out of me seeing that I was still sleeping, for one, I knew that wasn't my alarm because it would wake me up every thirty seconds, and I didn't bother to check what it was or who it is.
Finally, it's stopped vibrating and ringing and I smiled getting back to my sleep, with a second the stupid phone rang again and I screamed into my pillow wanting to cry, all I wanted was just one more hour of sleep.
Without checking the caller ID I answered sleepily.
"Hello?"
"Ms Adams, in my office in an hour," the voice said and he sounded so awake, unlike me who was planning to go right back to sleep.
"Sorry?" I said wanting to make sure if I heard him right.
"My office, in an hour."
"But it's only four a.m JJ," I said into the phone being blinded by the brightness as I checked the time, it's only four a.m.
"Yes, and you're left with fifty-eight minutes to get prepared and come to the office."
He hung up the phone right before I could tell him there was no ways I was going to do that, but that was a lie because soon enough I had woken up Aurora asking her to help me with my morning routine a bit quicker today.
"Amelia, it's only quarter past four," she grumbled after I asked her to choose a work outfit for me and I whined.
"I know, but he said I should be at work in the next, forty-five minutes, I'm so sorry," I said as I rushed showering, and doing my hair and putting on minimal make-up because I didn't have time.
"I'm starting to not like him," she said as she got underneath my sheets wrapping them tightly around her body, I got dressed in the two-piece suit she had laid out for me and quickly pressed my lips against her forehead.
"Me too, Ora, see you later!" I exclaimed as I rushed out of the house without even eating and taking one of dads cars not wanting to bother the bodyguards.
To say I was speeding through the streets would be an understatement, but luckily whatever speeding ticket I would get, I would give to dad, it is his car.
With only less than five minutes to spare, I prayed that this elevator would go faster so that I could at least be on time today, just so that I wouldn't deal with a pissy Daniels.
As soon as the elevator arrived on our floor, which I failed to mention was only, ours for some odd reason, I ran to the office and burst through the doors.
"I'm here!" I exclaimed putting my hands on my knees to find that I was alone in the office, where the hell was he. "Mr Daniels?" I called out for him in the office and went searching for him around our floor.
I pulled out my phone and I called him and he didn't pick up. Calling him non stop, he finally picked up and his voice sounded raspy like he was out of breath.
"Yes, Amelia?"
"Uh, where are you? I'm at the office and you're not here," I said putting my hands on my hips as I stared out his window watching the sunrise, beautiful.
"Oh, I'm still at home. I don't come to the office until ten a.m," he said that as if it was something I was supposed to know.
"Excuse me?"
"Oh, I said I don't come to the office-"
"I heard that part but why the hell am I at the office if you don't come until five hours later!" I screamed into the phone and he was quiet before chuckling.
"Because you have to be there before me, besides, I want you to prep for a meeting that will be happening around noon, the notes are on my desk, and by the time I get to the office, I want a hot coffee with cream waiting for me, with only a spoon of sugar. Bye Amelia."
He hung up the phone and I stared at it in disbelief, this man did not wake me up at four in the morning, and had me speeding through these streets just to tell me he will be in the office by ten? No, he did not!
Working on what he told me to work on, I studied the prep notes before printing out a number of files that the notes had said I should, I made my own additional notes on the side of what I thought should be mentioned but I would just keep those in my pocket, as soon as I was done, I organized his schedule so that it could correspond with mine.
I tidied up his desk a bit so it could look presentable, placing all his files on one side, colour coded to-do list pasted on his computer with a big heading saying, 'Dickheads to do list', yeah that wasn't professional but it was still worth it.
When I checked the time, I noticed that it was only ten minutes to ten and I quickly rushed into making his coffee and it was quite obvious which cup was his seeing that there was only one cup there. I placed it on his desk, not before writing across the word 'Dickhead' on the white mug.
I retired to my office and sat down looking outside at the view, the streets were a bit nosier now and busier, so was the office and I could feel the energy of people working...I liked it better when it was quiet.
At exactly ten a.m, Daniels walked into the office carrying his briefcase and I watched him from my office as he took off his jacket and grin as he looked at his mug.
"You know, I don't think it's a good thing calling your boss a dickhead, twice on that matter," he said flicking the paper that was stuck on his computer while sipping his coffee.
"And I don't think it's nice when you wake me up at four a.m to come to your office when you're not even there," I said and he smirked shaking his head.
"But it gave you time to work on a lot of stuff did it not?" he asked smirking and I threw the presentation files on his desk. "I will take that as a yes."
He flicked through the files and closed them with a satisfied look.
"Good work, Lia," he said staring into my eyes and my breath hitched as I momentarily forgot where I was.
"Ms Adams," I said and he smirked.
"Sure," he didn't have to say it like I didn't know what my name was. "How'd you sleep?"
"Well, until you called," I said crossing my arms over my chest.
"You look gorgeous," he said his eyes unashamedly moving up and down my body as he took in what I wore. "That red really brings out the colour of your eyes," he said lowly.
"Thank you," I said smoothing down my skirt that barely got over my knees, it ended mid-thigh and JJ's eyes were really fixed on them. For a person who was starting to not like JJ, she really was letting him see a lot of skin, great Aurora, great!
"Aren't you going to ask me how I slept?" he asked as he got up and walked closer to me, I stood still and watched him from the corner of my eye. "I couldn't get the image of you showing me your breasts wet out of my mind, it's been torturing me the whole weekend, and now seeing you at work in these dresses and suits doesn't really help calm down my imagination, what are you doing to me, Lia?"
He rasped in my ear with his hands pulling me against him with my hips.
"I'm- I'm not doing anything to you, JJ," I stuttered out and he smirked looking down at me. "Besides, isn't it a little too soon to be seducing your personal assistant?" I teased.
"Why do you think I made you my personal assistant, Lia?" he whispered in my ear pushing his hips letting me feel his member on my stomach, oh dear. "But we can't."
He said letting go of me and walking back to his chair, why? I whimpered at the loss of his touch on my body, I wanted him to touch me again.
"You're my personal assistant so that I could daily torture myself with the thought of being with you but not doing so because you work for me and you're Rick's daughter," he explained and I moved closer to him.
"I can quit, and fuck Rick," I said and he chuckled. "Plus, you were once with me," I said it barely coming out as a whisper and his features hardened.
"You're not quitting, and forget about that once, it won't happen again."
I just felt my heart crack, but looking at his body language I could see how much he was regretting saying that and luckily I'm a stubborn kid.
If he doesn't want me to quit, then I'll do just that. I won't quit, ever.
Two years after giving birth to Adrian, Jason and I were finally getting married...with more people around this time. During those two years, it definitely wasn't easy, we had just welcomed our newborn baby, the merger of the company was taking place and we were getting used to our two different families who weren't so different. Jason's side of the family was amazing, they were supportive and always wanted us to visit them with their favourite grandson, my side of the family was just as amazing, always present and helpful in raising Adrian. It wasn't easy at first after giving birth, there were many sleepless nights, debates on who's changing the diaper, or who's turn it was to stay up all night. I was the one who always stayed up all night and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I was a sweating mess. My hair was sticking onto my face, the light cloth that covered my body stuck onto me like a second skin, I smelt bad, just like sweat and I felt horrible. Screaming out for the umpteenth time today, feeling the excruciating labour pain kick me again and each time worse than before, I looked over at my husband whose face was scrunched up in pain as I squeezed his hand...if I was feeling this, he had to feel it too. Even though his wasn't anything measured up to mine. "Baby, breathe," he said, noticing my glare and doing those ridiculous breathing exercises. Deep breaths in and deep breaths out, it didn't work! And it didn't help with getting this baby out of me, on five centimetres dilated, half through getting his baby out of me. I think I should have been more clear when I said hous
"Okay, so how about, Jasper?" I asked suggestively as I laid on Jason's chest playing with the light stubble on his chin. "What does it mean?" he asked as he turned another page in the book he was reading, he looked so sexy with his glasses on, chewing on his bottom lip as he concentrated on his book and tried to give me attention as well. "Bringer of treasure, plus it's a fiery red gem that symbolises courage, endurance, and health," I explained to him watching his eyes stray from his book over to me. I still can't describe the feeling those eyes give me whenever they meet mine. "I like it," he said and his eyes roamed all over my face. "But I also like Declan," he said and my face scrunched up. "No, I don't like it," I said and he laughed while cl
"Happy birthday to you," I sang to Jason as I sat on top of him, waking him up I pushed the cupcake with the cliché one candle on it towards him. He gave me a boyish grin and pushed his hair back before sitting up straight. "Baby," he groaned, still smiling and I carried on singing, each note getting higher and higher as I jumped up and down softly. "Make a wish!" I exclaimed excitedly and he blew the candle out. Taking out the candle from the cake, I grabbed the cupcake and took a huge bite out of it. He stared at me shocked and I shrugged giggling. "I thought that was mine!" "The candle was yours," I said, still laughing, finishing off the cupcake he pouted and shook his head. "And this is delicious," I moaned with my mouthful of his cake.
I walked into Rick's and Kiara's house feeling extremely nervous and I was just about ready to vomit all of my anxiety out, but I was willing to stay strong, for my new family I had to stay strong. Where there's a will, there's a way. I cringed at my corny thought but it was a truthful thought that I'm not about to repeat! And of course, there is never a time I enter madam's house and she's not there, I wonder what it will be today. "Hey there, Ms CEO!" She chirped, waving her hands showing me she had just changed her nails, to a mustard colour and they were coffin-shaped, they weren't bad at all but for her skin colour, they didn't really compliment her pretty fingers, she did have pretty fingers. "Hey Kiara, how are you doing?" I asked clutchin
"Amelia Adams, will you do me the honours of becoming my wife, Mrs Daniels?" I stared at Jason feeling many emotions pass through me. Excitement and joy because I was really happy he proposed to me, I never thought the day would come but it's finally here! Confusion because I never really thought the day would be here. I stared into his eyes as the hopefulness turned into worry, was he worried about what my response would be? I swear when I woke up today I didn't think it would be filled with double exciting news despite the current circumstances which by the way were about to change. "Amelia?" he choked out standing up and I realized I hadn't answered him yet. "Get back on your knee!" I quickly said, pushing him back down and nodding my head rapidly. "Yes, I'd love
