Chapter 750

Ruth returned to the bedroom to take a shower and went straight from the walk-in closet to the study on the first floor.

Abel was on the phone when he saw her from the corner of his eye. He gave the person he was calling a few more instructions and quickly hung up.

“Finished talking to Lily?” he asked.

Ruth stood up from the sofa and walked up to him. Leaning against the desk, she crossed her arms and looked down at him. “Do you know what she’s been doing recently?”

Abel nodded and said lightly, “I can roughly guess.”

Ruth narrowed her eyes. “Then how did you guess her motives? Aren’t you surprised at all?”

Abel met her scrutinizing eyes and quickly understood what she meant. He said rather ambiguously, “Grandpa asked me to keep it a secret.”

Ruth was confused.

She looked at his puzzled expression.
