On her way back, Ruth mulled over what Callum said, and the more she thought about it, the more she found that something was off.

Without Callum’s reminder, she would not have realized what was going on.

Lockton Corporation’s shares were not worth much. Ruth wanted them for sentimental reasons, but why did Callum keep such a tight leash over them?

“Say, is there something about Lockton Corporation that I don’t know?” Ruth suddenly asked. The question seemed to be directed at Eilam, but also at nobody in particular.

Eilam was driving. When he heard the question, he looked at her through the rearview mirror. “Are you asking me?”
