Abel was usually really busy, so Ruth often saw him in his suit, which made him look aloof and like someone who did not indulge in carnal pleasures. It was either that or him not wearing anything when he had just finished bathing, which always made her face red as a tomato.

She had never seen him dressed in casual clothes before. It gave him a different kind of allure.

But while he might appear alluring, Ruth was not someone whose judgment was easily clouded by a handsome man. “You bought something? What did you buy? What made you spend five hundred million dollars?”

“Five hundred and twenty million dollars,” Abel coolly corrected her.

Ruth resisted the urge to wrangle his neck and tried her best to make sure that her face did not appear scary. “Come,” she said gently. “Let me see what you got for five hundred and twenty million dollars.”

Abel stared at her twisted smile in disdain, but handed over the bag he was carrying.

Ruth dumped the contents of the bag on the tea table.
