David spoke so sarcastically that Rebecca's eyes widened with rage. "It's only a fever, not a broken limb!"

David was shocked that she still had the strength to snap at him. He cocked a brow and asked, "What difference does it make with your current condition?"

Rebecca fell into a brief silence and pouted. "Either way, I can handle it. You don't have to get someone to help."

"Okay." David took a step back. Instead, a slight grin curved on his handsome face. "How about this? We'll compromise. I'll have the restaurant send some soup up here, and you'll eat however much you can before washing up. Sound good?"

Rebecca frowned while shooting David a sideways stare. He seemed genuine, which she did not expect. She assumed that he'd react with ridicule or contempt.

Rebecca then tried to sit upright, as it was uncomfortable to lie down. She had only twitched before David approached to help her up. He even added two pillows behind her lower back for support.
