Chapter 113 No More Feelings?

It was as though the overlapping of the taste within a certain recollection had made him grasp at fleeting memories.

Yet, when he took another bite, all that remained in his mouth was the lingering sweetness that was neither too cloying nor unpleasant. He had to admit that it tasted good.

Perhaps he was trying to search for that familiar taste in his memories, again. Daniel reached out to take another piece, but Rachel unhesitatingly slapped his hand away.

"Becca made these specifically for me! You'd best believe sparing you one piece is already beyond generous of me. How dare you try and take more!"

Daniel looked up and tossed Rebecca a glance.

The latter merely offered a polite smile as she sipped from her glass of water. She didn't utter a single word in his defense.

Clearly, she didn't want to entertain him—just like his mother.

Nonetheless, this didn't anger him. He silently withdrew his hand and briefly wiped down his fingertips with a piece of tissue.
