CRYSTAL POV

He was here.

I did not need to be told, but he was here within these walls. And he was looking at me.

I was up bathed in the spotlight, the blinding light refusing to let me see anything that flickered in the shadows of the sitting area, but his presence was unmistakable. It was that warm sensation that always had something hot unraveling in the pit of my stomach whenever he had his eyes on me.

I have been looked at before, but not to a point of having goosebumps sheath my skin completely, tremors habituating inside of me in a matter of seconds. That has always been the one superpower he had, the kind of weapon only HE could wield upon me, and one thing he excelled in since day one. And now… it was even more heady.

I felt it in the air as soon as I stepped in here.
