Sweat stung my eyes with tiny drops of snow slowly freezing my body. All around me was covered with white smoke. I did not know where it came from. The smoke came to us which looked like an advantage for us.

It was the work from a Witch. But, who did it?

It could not have been Ashley using her abilities. She would have been far gone with Drake driving her out from danger.

The smoke was choking the air out from our lungs. It tasted bitter on my parched throat. Perhaps, someone did not want us to cross out from the smoke. Was it created to protect us?

I wondered as I looked around, searching for Gerald.

“Nikolai” I heard his voice calling my name in a singing tune. He was somewhere close, I could sense him hiding behind those thick trees ahead. He was getting nearer to us.
