Chapter Seven: Evolved.

As he entered the sick bay, he asked for Melody's room number and quickly went in. When he entered, he saw two female nurses attending to Melody.

"How's she doing?" Vic asked.

"She's okay for now. We've healed the wound and thank goodness, her lovely skin look as smoothly as ever." The nurse chuckled. "We just need to leave her be for a while, it may not be up to thirty minutes that she'll wake up!"

"Thank You" Vic replied and he sat on a chair that was placed around a corner. "I'll just stay here!"

The nurses exited and left Vic and Melody alone.

"Is that your girl?" Ang asked.

"What do you mean my girl."

"Stop playing dumb. I know you love her."

"shhhh, someone is coming!" Vic said

"Why shush me when they can't hear me!" Ang replied.

"Just who is that?!" Vic thought as he saw the door opening with a figure in black holding the handle and switching off the light

Later on, the figure shut the door and went towards Melody who was on the bed. He didn't notice that Vic was in the room. He purposely sat down by the corner of the room.

"It seems like you came to me all by yourself." Vic thought to himself as he locked the door.

The lock made a rattling sound causing the figure to turn around. Just then, Vic switch on the lights and could see the face of the figure.

And it appeared to be the very person the cops were looking for. The one Vic was fighting before the cops entered.

Also the one that stabbed Melody.

"You brat!!" The man was shocked to see Vic again and started running towards Melody. The room was big with a lot of spaces.

Vic appeared in front of the man and gave him an uppercut.

"You think you can escape from me after all you did?" Vic shouted, not minding Melody who was fast asleep.

"I know all your tricks. When you touch someone's blood, you will teleport."

"How did you know??" The man shouted in anger.

"I didn't know, just figured it out and you made a confirmation to it. Nice try!" Vic said.

The man ran towards the door but Vic blocked his way.

"Just what his your ability?" Vic asked

"You can't ever know. Even if it's not a combat type of ability, it's better than that your useless system ability. Or can your ability tell you what kind of ability I have?"

"I wont let you go scot free." Vic said as he activated his energy drain on him.

While he was doing this, Ang shouted;

"Vic get out of here quick!"

"Where should I go to?" Vic asked.

"Just go anywhere!"

Vic rushed into the restroom without knowing the cause. Just then a strange message had appeared.

A very deep, stinging pain that he've never felt before came all over his body.

 The pain was so much that he couldn't speak at all. About thirty minutes later, he saw a figure standing in front of him, saying some words, but his eyes was getting blurry as he passed out on the floor.

The first thing he saw as he opened his eyes was a female with a blue hair, blue eyebrow, wearing a white gown. He recognized her at once, it was Melody. he looked around the room, and saw that It was an hotel room.

"Are you okay?" Vic heard the voice, a very beautiful voice that he have never heard before. It was so sweet and soothing to his ears.

"Yeah! What happened??" Vic asked, looking around, noticing the blue decorations in the room, which made him realize that Melody had used her magic to decorate the room in blue colour.

"I was using the bathroom till I heard someone shouting out in pain. I rushed out to see what the noise was all about, until I saw you passing out on the floor." Melody replied. "I used my magic powers to save you, but that also caused a toll on me. Until I finally got you something that heals internal pain."

"How long have I been down." Vic asked.

"Hmmn, let's see. About two days now."

He was speechless, and with the conspicuous look on Melody, he knew Melody was anxious to know what happened to him. But instead of explaining things to her, he chose to do something else.

He touched his right eyebrow as Ang had directed him when he was to check the system's messages.

And a few messages appeared.

Vic realized that he had levelled up after draining Ray's energy. He felt so happy that his energy had increased. Not only that but a new stat has been unlocked, a speed stat. He proceeded to check the remaining messages not without saying to Ang.

 "So That's why I felt stronger and lighter"

"You're a cool one Vic"

Vic asked Ang the meaning of what it means but all he said was he don't know.

He was so angry, that Melody saw the frown on his face and had to ask what happened to him.

He lied to Melody saying, that he felt so embarrassed fainting in the restroom.

The next thing Melody said was shocking to Vic.

"Can you please teach me your ability?"

He was silent for a while till he broke into a loud laughter.

"You mean you want to learn my ability, don't you have your own strange but powerful ability, those invisibility and what do I call it. Disappearing skills." he answered jokingly.

"Hey!! Can we be serious here." She said "I don't have any ability and if you think my invisibility power is an ability, you're wrong!"

Vic was speechless. he thought to himself; what is your ability then?

He didn't realize that his mind link skill was activated. The question popped into Melody's head, and she answered his question.

"Let me start from the beginning, I am from a world that's different from Earth.

In my world, We have two kingdoms, which I'm a Queen to be in one of the kingdoms. Presently, the kingdoms are in a very powerful conflict.

You see, We are all United under the banner of the Magic Castle, until my mother's sister decided to claim the castle for herself. Ruling us as the queen.

But none us were satisfied by her rules, then a council was formed. A council of the strong peoples in our kingdom.

They all agreed to dethrone my mum's sister, whose name is Renee. Unknown to them that Renee was mightily strong. I think the magic castle gave her some powers. 

She killed all the council who fought with her, all but one. My Mother.

"My mum didn't join in the fight, she told the others to go on without her that she had a plan B. They agreed and left.

My Mother cast some spells and the magic castle disappeared, and was safely hidden by my Mother.

The war was taking place in a different area but Renee felt her powers sipping away. She was so angry, but at the same time, she was feeling weaker, it was like the castle was the source of her power.

 "My mother told me where the key was hidden before she died. The spell really take a lot of her life force. That's why I won't let her death be in vain.

I won't allow Renee to have way.

After the great war, there was splitting. Those that think Renee can save them went over to her side but those with pure hearts and minds stayed.

That's how we have two kingdoms.

Day by day, we kept on decreasing on our side as people were convinced to come to the other side. I heard some of them saying a mythical beast is on Renee's side. And they have hope of winning any battles.

We created a barrier that would prevent the other side from entering our kingdom.

"But still we're in a confrontational war to tell where the key was, but I never told anyone, even to my fellow peoples. Meanwhile, a vision was been revealed to me that the only person that could save our world is presently in the human world. That's why I planned to come to this world to find the person in the vision.

"And have you find the person?" Vic asked.

"Yes! And the person... The person is right in front of me." Melody looked directly into Vic's eyes. "It's you, Vic."

"Mee?!!" Vic asked.

"Yes, you!" She answered. "Like I said, I don't have an ability, and every ability I've ever encountered seemed to be weaker to my magic, apart from yours. Do you remember when my invisibility powers were altered by you? Well it's not only that but all my magics were not working."

"So are you a witch or what?" Vic asked sarcastically.

"I am a mage! I used magic to make myself invisible. I also use it to teleport the people that were held captives by the kidnappers, do you remember?!" Melody asked.

"Of course, I do!" Vic replied "but why do you need me in your kingdom?" Vic asked looking forward to the answers.

Melody sighed and said; "Renee seemed to be getting stronger by day, I don't know how she does it, but I think she's been receiving dark powers from the mythical beast, I saw in my vision that you are the only one who can help us defeat her."

"So I'm gonna be kicking some stupid powerful Lady's ass and some kind of mythical beast?" Vic said teasing her a bit. "I mean this is some kind of crazy thing to do."

"You've accepted my offer right!" She asked.

"It's not that I don't want to, but I'm not some anti-evil hero!!" Vic answered.

"But my vision was right! I saw you fight against Renee." Melody proclaimed.

"Well!! You'll have to listen to my own story since you've told me yours. But what happened when I was down?"

"You've been out for a few days, I guess you will need some updates, Melody replied "but can we suspend that for later?"

"Okay!!" Vic replied and sighed "Melody, I am a Vampire!"
