Mia raised her eyebrows as a pink cocktail slid in front of her. She's sitting at the bar of the club she's been for like thousand times already. Shangri La the most happening spot in Manhattan. Also her favourite for several reasons.
Chris thought it would be a good idea to catch up in a loud place. Jane was going to join them soon. That's what Chris had said anyways, but he bailed half an hour ago for some brunette with long legs and a dazzling smile. Mia was a bit mad about that. What happened to talking and catching up? She's a little bitter because she is also a brunette with long legs and a dazzling smile. Then again Mia is not interested in sleeping with Chris, though, so she understood.
A man leaned against the bar next to her and motioned towards the drink. "Hey, angel. Couldn't help but notice you were here by yourself, so I thought I'd replace your drink."
She rolled her eyes at that because, 'angel,' honestly? Who even talks like that? The man had a sharp jawline, with just a bit of scruff, high cheekbones, and grey eyes. His chestnut hair was done up in a messy quiff, and well, she would go for him. Really but she didn't feel anything. Nothing.
"I'm fine thanks."
As he's about to open his mouth, probably to pursue her, the bartender cleared her throat. "Any problem gentleman?"
The guy shook his head and scrambled away, making Mia relive a sigh. Her night was already turning out to be worst the last thing she needed was to entertain some asshole.
Mia smiled brightly at the bartender, Stella, her best friend. They both were pursuing the same MBA degree at the same university. Despite that, it has been a while since they last saw each other. Its their work schedule. Mia worked during days while Stella had night shifts at the bar.
"Correct me if I'm wrong," Stella mumbled, leaning forward against the bar with a rugged look and added, "But didn't you say you'd be bringing a date to this club next time you're here?"
"You look lovely," She immediately babbled.
The light colour of her pastel uniform shone against the club lights with her blond hair tied up and few strands tickling the side of her face.
"Don't change the subject. But thank you," Stella narrowed her eyes. "Your date?"
"Did I say that?" Mia arched her brows, making a face. "My memory fails me."
Her friend scoffed. "Did your date fail you as well?"
Mia winced at the tone, folding her hands together. "Ouch. You get more devilish every time I see you."
"Thanks?"
"It wasn't a compliment."
"Felt like one," Her best friend said in her sing-song voice.
"So, really, what happened to your date?"
He never existed... Mia didn't say that out loud, though. It's embarrassing. When was the last time she went on a date? She couldn't remember that.
"The thing is...he was on his way here. And then got abducted by aliens as he was driving. They hovered right over his car and just," She motioned with her hand as if she's scooping something up, "zapped him up. Just like that."
Stella choked. "You're ridiculous. How would you even know that? If aliens abducted him on his way here, how'd you find out?"
"We were on Facetime."
Her friend shook her head. "I've had it with you," she said, still laughing. "The good news is that there's a man here named George. And he's single."
Why were her friends so obsessed with setting her up? She's fine, really. Mia groaned. "You and Jane both. You need to be stopped."
"He's cute," Stella carried on as if she hasn't heard anything. "And he's rich. Umm...he was engaged before things went sour. So I'm sure he's the kind to commit long term."
Just then, Mia felt a hand on her shoulder. Before she could react, she caught Jane's scent and instantly calmed down. Stella smiled at her. They both hugged before Jane gave a hug to Mia.
"So what's up?"
Stella pointed at Mia, "We're discussing how Mia is going to end up single with at least fifty cats."
"Yikes," Jane made a face as if she'd tasted something sour, extracting herself from Mia's arms so she can sit beside her. "Fifty are a bit much."
"Maybe twenty then."
"Yeah I can picture that"
"You both are the worst!" Mia huffed while taking a massive swig of her drink. Seriously she needed better friends.

Next morning she wanted to cry. And scream. Her head was pounding as if someone was repeatedly hammering her. Clutching the cup, she sighed, sipping the straight black coffee and scrunching her face in disgust. Mia hoped that drinking the black liquid will help her concentrate and also reduce her headache. She had no time to get aspirin.
Once again, she was the last one to arrive at the office. As Jane was pregnant, she didn't anything last night except for a classic mojito. Maybe Mia should have done the same thing. The twenty-five-year-old had important things to finish up, though, and she didn't trust anyone other than herself to do it.
So, here she was.
She's usually smart enough to handle Damon's schedule before she started on the other assignment. Still, sometimes her excitement got the better of her, and she's left in a panic, rushing to put together her boss's weekly meetings into something of a schedule that hopefully looked professional enough to keep her from being chewed out.
It didn't help that she had someone like Damon as her boss. He's, just, intimidating. He one of the most potent CEOs she had ever encountered who followed the rules a bit too seriously - not to mention how undeniably gorgeous he is.
"Good morning, Miss Grace."
Mia jumped at the greeting behind her, knocking the files slightly askew in shock. She immediately cringed. Its the start of the day and somehow she managed to make a fool of herself.
"Good morning, sir," She returned with a wince. "You've got a meeting in half an hour with the PR, and then at eleven—"
"I'm aware of my morning meetings," Damon interrupted. He's not donning his usual blank face; mostly his jaw was clenched, eyes into slits and she knew immediately that she's in for a talking to. "I went over my schedule that you sent - albeit late - yesterday night."
Mia looked down. She was so out of it the previous night that she didn't even remember sending him the schedule. When she got home, Mia hurriedly selected some file and sent him on his mail.
"Of course. Sorry about that, sir."
"Follow me."
She nodded, trailing behind him to his office.
"Close the door, Miss Grace."
Mia did.
Damon walked around to his desk chair, but he didn't take a seat. His eyes were focused intensely on Mia, making her want to run and hide. "I'm not going to say it's okay or that it's forgiven, lest you get it in your head that it's alright for this to continue," Her boss explained. "Would you mind taking a seat?"
"O-of course, sir."
She rushed to sit in the seat across from him, who still hasn't taken a seat himself. Instead, he walked around to the side of the desk and flipped through the stack of folders she carefully placed out. His hip was popped against the desk, and he's not making eye contact or even saying a word. It's unsettling.
After he's looked through a few, Damon closed the files and turned to her.
"I understand that I'm not exactly an easy man to please, but I don't think it's too out there for me to ask you to have my agenda emailed to me by eight pm sharp, do you?"
Mia gulped. "No, sir."
She had known that this was where things were headed, but she still was so unprepared. Her boss was standing a few heads taller than her in their current position and looking down on her in disappointment. It's a power move, Mia was aware of that, and it sure does work to make her feel absolutely powerless.
"Mmh good," He hummed. "We're on the same page with that. It isn't unreasonable for me to have my agenda at a certain time, and yet last night you were late with your delivery, so - "
"I'm sorry, sir. I - "
"Please don't cut me off, Miss Grace, it's incredibly disrespectful," He insisted, and she had to bite her tongue to stop another apology from tumbling out.
Suddenly Damon's face was in her face. The screen was displaying his inbox, and her email was starred, highlighted, and sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of everything else. "Miss Grace this is the email you sent me last night"
Damon pressed on the mail. Everything seemed to be normal. There are a few misspellings in her apology, but there's even an attachment at the bottom, which left her even more confused. What was that?
"Fuck!" She exclaimed, feeling all of the air leave her body, deflating her into a disgraced mess when her boss clicked on the attachment.
"I wasn't expecting this when I checked my inbox."

What do you think Mia sent? I am so excited to write further chapters :))Mia couldn't help but remember the exact incident that led up to the following moment. Her cheeks flushed as she thought of previous night—the things she did in her drunken state. The twenty-five year old looked at the camera to make sure it was aimed perfectly in between her thighs, and she reached a prodding hand to feel and make sure the blue jewel was visible. It matched her eyes and also the added colour will make the pictures far more delicate. That's what she aimed for.She maintained her arch and grabbed for the remote, letting her other hand get lost in the sheets as the vibrator edged close enough to her g spot to have her wiggling for even the smallest amount of extra pressure. Mia's hand finally tensed around the remote, and she pressed the button without thinking much about a pose.As s
Damon clenched his jaw. "I asked you a simple question, Mia. Who were you sending those pictures?"Mia shivered at the tone, her spine chilling at the way his voice drawled. There was a hidden tone of possessiveness behind that, or atleast she could detect it. She couldn't help but twist her lips in between her teeth, her cheeks heating up. How should she answer that question? Then again, it's none of his business. He had no control over her life outside the business, so she met his eyes, gaze hardened. "I don't think it's related to my job, sir.""It's not, but I just want you to know I don't share."Her mouth fell open at that. What did he mean by that? Before she could question him about it, Damon made a so
/HIS POV/One minute he's standing right in front of her and the very next, Damon heard her exhale, shivering as they took a step closer. His fingers trailed towards the hem of her shirt. For a minute, he couldn't believe it, hesitant and wanting to change his mind. However, her flushed face was very inviting, and he couldn't control himself. Not anymore. He gripped the waistband of her long striped pants and pushed them down. The CEO watched in bated silence, the pounding of his heart growing deafening as the red lace was slowly revealed. Thong. Red, lace thong."Fuck" He whispered, eyes glued to the sight of deep crimson against soft honeyed skin, the way the fabric sits snug over her legs. Damon was sure that Mia liked the feeling of the material though.
Mia held her breath as she stumbled out of her boss office, aware of her appearance. She took her bag and threw the jacket over her shoulders, desperately trying to button it with her fingers that were also shaking. Her thighs were still sticky and damp as she had slid those pants on and marched out of his office with arrogance.Fortunately for her, Damon hadn't left yet, probably still standing in his office with a frown on his face at the way she behaved. No, she didn't even want to think about it, too busy staring at the elevator in front of her.She hoped that it would arrive before she had to see her boss again. Just thinking about his reaction made her shiver.Mia was trying not to think about what had happened, not until she left. She had let him eat her out, which also happened to be t
He took a deep breath in through his nose and threw the paper on the floor. Mia watched as the crushed receipt fell on the ground. Before she could voice out against it, Damon was cornering her. Within a minute, she was pressed against the wall and his body.A shiver ran down her spine as his cold breath fanned her face. Mia wanted to scream. This was not happening again! But for some reason, she couldn't do anything but watch his eyes. His hand came towards her cheek, and she inhaled sharply, anticipating his touch."Tell me if you don't want this" He whispered. She stayed quiet. Mia arched into his touch, letting him cradle her cheek. Her boss leaned forward and slammed their lips together. She whimpered softly as Damon bit down on her bottom lip, their kiss growing deeper and more overwhe
Stella and Jane dragged her to some posh dessert bar which happened to be New York's new thing. Mia didn't refuse because who could say no to sweet and alcohol? That's how she doing herself sitting with my her best friends, drinking a splash of champagne and fruit on the patio of the new bar.It was a warm evening. Breeze blew by them as they sat on the edge, away from prying ears talking about everything and nothing."So, how's work?" Stella asked, between a mouthful and another in her fruit tart. That didn't look edible at all. Mia didn't know why her friend took an extra serving of that. "Is that asshole of your boss still pissing you off, Mia?"At the mention of Damon, a shiver ran down her spine. Her disdain towards her boss wasn't exactly a secret to the people close to her. More than
When they took the elevator, there was no one else with them—That's why Mia was able to express her anger. Unfortunately just as he was about to answer her, the lift stopped, and a guy stepped inside. Silvas.Silvas Tate was a low-level number cruncher, a nerd. A bit of a loner. From the looks of the time of day, he was the one who was sent to pick up lunch orders to bring back for the more senior staffer in his section of the company. They talked only twice. Both the times to order lunch for Damon. She didn't know much about him except that he kept to himself.Damon immediately took a step back, giving her enough space to breathe."Mr Tate," The CEO said as he crowded himself against the back wall to one side of the elevator.
Mia held her breath as he leaned down in front of her. His fingers dug in her taut thigh muscles, and he just pounced, licking up and down her opening. Damon licked her up again, this time flattening his tongue and pointing it against her clit at the very end. Mia's hips wiggled at the feel of it, chasing for anything more. The CEO indulged her, unable to contain his desires of placing his mouth on her and making her come from his tongue alone. His lips covered her pussy and sucked teasingly against her throbbing clit as he wedged a finger inside of her. Damons tongue weaved in between each of her folds."Oh, god!" She cried, her legs feeling weak and curled her fingers in his hair. The CEO kept on teasing her, flicking his tongue against her folds and then pressing it hard between the
/A few months later/Mia woke up with the sun rays in her eyes and her entire body feeling wrung out, sore all over. She contemplated rolling over and going back to sleep, because, her limbs ached all over. All thanks to the person sleeping next to her. Staring at the small alarm clock on her bedside, the assistant was able to conclude its noon and that she's only had a good five hours or so.She was wrapped around Damon, who was snoring peacefully into the nape of her neck.Turning over in his arms, she studied the curve of his mouth, set in a faint pout, the tiny crease between his brows that suggested he's fighting the pull of waking up. If Mia's mouth didn't taste like bitter grapes, she'd kiss him until they're both sleepy and loose with it, would get her mouth on him, slowly and languidly, all the time in the world, with neither of them having anywhere to be for the rest of the weekend.Just star
/HIS POV/Mia was grinding on him. Pressing her body against him sensually. It turned him on. At least enough people were dancing in the room that they're somewhat shielded from close inspection. Marginally. Even though stupid fucking Jake seemed to be staring at Damon, but he's getting kind of used to that. Whatever. He was enjoying it, embracing it with all his heart. He let Mia tip her head back, falling on his shoulder, while his eyes drifted to seek out Jakes gaze. Deliberately, he pressed himself into the grinding. The CEO didn't want to invite him in the first place, but Mia insisted they make it right and also they were friends now.The platinum blonde guy twisted his mouth and turned away.Damon wanted to laugh, wanted to throw his hands in the air. Instead, he twirled Mia in the circle of his arms and gave her a slow, lazy grin. She grinned back, her hair clinging
Mia couldn't believe it. She froze mid-sentence, interrupting a story about her messing up with Jane's hair dye and accidentally adding violet colour. That was years ago, and they laughed about it alright more like Mia laughed while her friend could stop screaming at the mirror. It was hilarious at that time. They are all over it."That's..." The assistant trailed off as she stared at the person she admired a lot—her idol."Noah Parker," Damon supplied brightly, an amused quirk to his lips. "And his wife Melon, if I remember correctly. Let's go say hello, shall we?"Or maybe it's time for Mia to hide in the bathroom and scream instead of welcoming the guests while drunk out of one's mind. In her defence she’s happy and never thought that in a corporate party she would be able to meet Noah Parker who happened to be an A list actor. And man of her dreams. Who invited him?
Mia went back to Damon's place. She couldn't withstand knowing that he's upset with her. Also, the assistant missed not being with him. The last two days were agonising trying to think about the every moment she wanted to hate him. There weren't many to start with. By the end of the first day, she's exhausted and just wanted to forget about it. Hence the lunch date with Jake. He's not at his place. Her boss would never make it easy for her. Mia drove back to work, trying not to scream in the void of the car.The assistant knocked on the door very well seeing the stiletto of her boss through the tinted glass door. Damon tilted his head and motioned her to come into his office. Taking a deep breath, she pushed at the door and stepped in. The CEO was not looking pleased."Hope you had an amazing lunch date with that douche," He muttered in a low voice, once she was in earshot."What wa
When her doorbell rang, she knew. Somehow in the middle of brushing her hair in front of the vanity mirror, Mia knew that its Damon on the other side of the door. The thought caused her to breathe deeply and freeze in her spot until the next one rang more urgent and loud. Keeping the hairbrush on the table, she rushed towards the door, her heart in her throat the entire way. Why was he here? What did he want now? There was no way Mia wanted to see him after what he did. Where was her friend when she needed her? Maybe she should have asked Jane to stay over. With hesitant breaths she opened the door and wanted absolutely nothing more than to jump into
Mia called a cab. She couldn't drive back anymore, suddenly feeling numb all over. The assistant couldn't believe this was happening to her. And all that within a day of getting back from Los Angeles. What about all those promises Damon made to her? Did they mean nothing? Her voice modulated from tears during the call; thankfully, nobody on the other end said anything. When it arrived, she hurriedly slid into the backseat and nodded to the driver. When the car started, the assistant broke down in tears and started crying. Silent, heavy tears weighed down by the incident she noticed just ten minutes before. It was done. She let Damon go. She'd never ha
/His POV/As soon as Damon got back to his place, he had several messages waiting for him. The usual business stuff but the messages from Lily stood out the most. He couldn't ignore them. That's why he called her urgently, not caring that it was seven in the evening and she must be busy elsewhere. If she had to leave that many voice mails it must be important.Like he guessed she was busy and told him that she'd come the next morning with breakfast.Damon was jet-lagged, and he couldn't muster himself to call Mia, knowing very that his assistant was tired as well. She pointedly glared at him as they exited the aeroplane and asked him to let her rest. Last time he checked, she was the one who wanted to ride him during the journey. How was she blaming him for her fatigue? The CEO knew better than to argue, so he simply let that go and promised to see her next day in office. ***A
"I still can't believe you just – abandoned me," Jane grumbles now, voice a bit high.Mia tried not to roll her eyes as she treaded lightly across the plush white carpet in their break room. For a change, they decided to stay back in the office and have lunch instead of going out. That was all her idea. She had just finished her work and then thought of whipping up some sandwich for Jane and her self. After all, Mia didn't have a boss to give her orders and demand ridiculous things. That's right. Damon didn't show up to work. It was taking everything in her, not just to quit working and show up on his door. What good would that do anyway? She can't abandon her responsibilities as he did. So the assistant dropped him a mail asking about his health while also informing about his cancelled meetings."I didn't abandon you, don't make it sound so dramatic. I went away to work with my boss."
"Move over; I want the aisle seat" Damon happily obliged, dragging himself over to the other seat. Even though they were the only ones in the entire jet, Mia loved to be demanding in the morning. She plumped down next to him and let out a big chunk of air."I'm so tired" She moaned. "And we've got a six-hour flight in front of us."Unwisely, they'd decided to pull an all-nighter the night before, laying on the bed and gazing at the stars in the sky. Now, ten am LA time; they hadn't had a proper lie down for sixteen hours.Mia didn't bother to get ready at all. Her hair was messy, and she was wearing a baggy grey hoodie with shorts, the most comfortable you can get for a flight. After they drove back to the hotel, she didn't have much of a choice than to pick the first outfit that looked cosy. The assistant pushed the chair to handle up and leaned into him. Damon carefully ran his finger against her loose stra
