Azrael

The vibrations from my phone woke me from the long-awaited sleep. I frowned as I picked up my phone before I saw Reina as the caller ID.

I knew exactly why she was calling, so I dropped my phone before something fell from my body; a blanket.

I stared at it and picked it up as I tried hard to remember when I took the time to pick it up before the scent of hot food from the kitchen wafted in.

It couldn’t be. I thought as I rushed out of my chair to the kitchen.

I barged in and stared at Leslie, who was tasting the stew in the cooking spoon before he turned back and smiled at me.

“Oh, you’re awake and right on time. Dinner is ready.” Leslie said as he dropped the spoon aside and picked up a few plates.

“I told Ben I wouldn’t be heading home late since I’m having dinner here, so pardon me for staying a little longer. Could you please help me and set the table?” Leslie requested as he offered me the plate.

I couldn’t understand how he was talking so naturally with me after what happened that day and I never expected him to show up, or at least not now.

“Uh?” I replied and collected the plates before I walked out to the dining.

I placed the plate on the table as I stared at Leslie with hands carrying a container that contained dinner. He dropped it on the table the moment I was done before he exhaled and faced me.

“I don’t want us to fight after the meal. My mother always said that it is important to make peace before any meal, especially dinner.” Leslie said before he bowed his head. “I’m sorry for insisting and intruding on your personal affairs.”

I felt embarrassed. He was acting like the senior man here before my shoulders slouched and Leslie raised his head.

“I went home and thought about it and I realized I was wrong. I would also be mad at myself if I were in your shoes and forced to give a reason why I hate omegas by an omega simply because he wants to be my friend and demands my respect, trust, and like instead of earning it. So, I want to atone for my mistake with dinner. I don’t know what you like and I’m still unfamiliar with Asian culture, but I’m willing to learn if it is you.” Leslie said as I placed my hand on my neck and flushed.

“Let’s just call it a truce. I was also in the wrong. I lost my temper then did something that made you…” Leslie blushed as he looked away while I placed my fingers between my brows. “The thing is, I’m sorry.”

“May I ask why you did that? Why you kissed me?” Leslie asked as his neck flushed with his face in a manner that I almost misunderstood.

“I don’t know, but I did. I don’t know if it was because I’m pent up or if it’s because…” I paused and walked up to him. “Or if it’s because it’s you.”

Leslie blinked as his cobalt blue eyes stared at me before he laughed and waved off my words.

“If I wasn’t married, I would take that as a confession.” I flinched when he said that. “You don’t have to be disgusted; let’s forget about everything and start again as friends since my editor time ended two hours ago.”

“I still don’t like you.” I said as Leslie smiled and stretched his hand.

“I adore your work Azrael-sensei.” Leslie said with his eyes closed and the sincerest smile any of my fans could ever muster.

Leslie was honest when he said he was my biggest fan, but I didn’t also know… I was seeing him in a new light.

“Hoy Mitsuki!” Clark shouted as I stepped into the VIP lounge that was quieter than the front club.

I sat down as West poured me a shot and I took a sip before I stretched my legs on the table before Mike waved the girls they were making out with, out.

“I’m surprised your omega let you out. Let me guess, his bussy ain’t tight for you?” Baine asked as the guys laughed before I gulped down the whole drink and threw the glass at his feet.

“Don’t talk about him like that.” I warned fiercely as everyone kept quiet before Clark came to my side and offered me another drink.

“Relax man. Baine was clearly in the wrong. We didn’t think you were that whipped.” Clark said as I glared at him.

“I’m not whipped. We don’t have that kind of relationship.” I replied as the boys stared at each other.

“You mean you aren’t dating him?” Mike asked.

“We are not in any sexual relationship. I don’t want to stain the memories of that kid in a private room of a club.”

“I’m shocked. Everyone knows you hate omegas not to talk of the males. You should have heard Daphne whine. We thought the cute thing probably seduced you, but to hear he did nothing and you aren’t disgusted; there’s a catch.” Baine said as I pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

“As I said before; we aren’t in any intimate or sexual relationship. The kid is married, satisfied with his marriage; he’s the first one to earn my respect, but that doesn’t me I like him too much.”

“But you like him?” Clark asked as I huffed and I glared at him. “Got a picture?”

I was silent as I pointed at the drink that had West pour me another before he handed it to me.

“Let’s drop the matter, guys. Also, in your spare time, I think you should address the issue with Daphne because she’s telling everyone you’ve had sex with and anyone interested that you’re pussywhipped to an omega.” West informed me as I laughed.

“You don’t know how many girls have been asking if you are dating an omega.” Clark said, feeling a little offended.

“Why did you end things with Daphne, anyway? She’s a hot chick.” West said before I puffed out.

“I hate bothersome women.” I replied as I stared at West.

“She was getting old. Speaking of old, have you seen the new assistant bartender?” Baine asked as I stared at him.

We all walked to the balcony, where we saw the assistant bartender. She was pretty, short hair, blond and if the lights weren’t dancing, I guessed her iris were brown. I knew a natural blond when I see one and she wasn’t one of them.

“She’s got long legs.” I commented.

“Nice. I’ve been trying to get her number since, but you see; Mel is quite cold to handsome alphas like me.” Baine said as everyone stared at him before we shook our heads and ignored him.

“You own the club. Just ask for the employee record.” I said.

“I like everyone on the ground floor not knowing I own the place; makes it easy to party once in a while, plus she’ll sue me for harassment the moment I say her name.” Baine sighed as he placed his head on my shoulder.

“She’s not my type.” I replied. “I came here to drink.”

“Drinks are sweeter when there’s a woman to share it with. Also, if you do it, everyone will know that you’re still in the game.” Clark said as I stared at the new girl.

I knew I would hear no end of it if I avoided it plus Baine said she was cold, so I was confident she would reject me and I would change venue to where I could drink except she didn’t.

It started with a simple conversation and before I knew it; the night ended with her phone number and her real name… Ruby Stone.

This is the way everything should be; an alpha influencing a lesser gender of the opposite sex, not thinking about some damned married kid that is an omega — A male omega.
