[Terrence]
The following day, there were a few documents that I needed to hand over to Kael so I went directly to his office. I handed it to him and I told him a little bit of what happened yesterday. I didn’t tell him directly about the things we found out however, I did give him a hint as to what it could be. I left his office after letting him think things through.
“Excuse me, Mr. Grimes but may I ask you to sign this document? I was about to head over to your office to have it signed.” Kael’s assistant showed me a document that I hadn’t signed yet and I saw that it was for the upcoming launch.
I gladly walked over to her desk and signed it. As I was looking around, waiting for her to file the document, I noticed a note on her desk.
I usually don't pry int
“Ah excuse me, I just have one question I’d like to ask. Has there been any news of Amelia Young, the president’s previous secretary?” I asked. The secretary answered but didn’t even bother looking at me as she continued to file the documents. “There has been a delivery man who comes here to deliver bento boxes for the president and the sender was labeled as A. Young. The president suspects that Ms. Amelia was the one who was sending the bento boxes however there was no confirmation.” She answered. Since she was so busy filing the documents, I took a peek at the note on her desk again and I saw the unit number of where the bento boxes were coming from. I thanked the secretary for her answer and I went on my way down to the garage.
[Terrence] As I was in the elevator, it was getting crowded since a lot of people were on their way down to a different floor. By the time the elevator arrived at the lobby, almost all of the passengers got out. I waited for the doors to close so I could be taken down to the garage but something caught my eye. I saw Natalia all dressed up and waiting for the elevator next to the one where I was in. My eyes widened when I saw her. How daring could she be to come over here after being thrown out? As the door closed, I immediately texted Aira. I got off the elevator and I went over to my car as quickly as I could.
[Terrence] “Babe, I’m coming to pick you up. I found out about something but we need to hurry.” I told Aira. She didn’t ask any questions and she said she’ll be waiting for me. I drove over to her house and she immediately buckled up as soon as she entered the car. “What’s going on babe?” She asked. I immediately left her house and drove all the way to the apartment complex where we suspected Natalia was keeping Amelia. “I found out that Amelia was trying to send a message to Kael using a delivery guy. The address that was written on the boxes had the unit number so there’s a big possibility that we can save Amelia.” I told her. I also told her the unit number and the floor where Amelia could be in.
[Terrence] “But what about Natalia?” She asked. I told her not to worry about that. As soon as I said that, I received a text message from Kael saying Natalia was in his office. I told Aira to send a reply saying to keep her there as long as possible. I also told her to send a message saying we’re on our way to the apartment complex and we’ll try to find Amelia. We arrived at the apartment complex and we quickly made our way up the stairs and onto the 4th floor. On the note on the assistant’s desk, it said the room number was 407 but when I think about it, if that were the case then Kael could’ve easily found Amelia but he didn’t which means it must be a trap. Aira and I were standing in the hallway of the 4th floor and I couldn’t decide on what to do.
[Terrence] “407 must be the room where Natalia’s subordinate is. If someone like a PI or a police officer were to come over and knock on that door, they could easily alert Natalia and she’ll decide to move Amelia away from here. I believe Amelia is still here but she must be in a different room.” Aira said. I agree with what she said. Natalia has been seen going to this apartment complex multiple times, and seeing as how meticulous she is, I’m sure that Amelia is in this building. The problem we have now is there’s now way for us to find out which room she’s in. Aira and I were about to give up when a young boy came up to us. He tugged on my coat and I bent down to talk to him.
[Terrence] “Hi, is there something you want to say to me?” I asked in a friendly tone. I thought this kid was just curious about us since we were standing in the middle of the hallway and he must’ve been wondering who we were since we must be a pair of new faces for him. “Are you here to help the crying sister?” He asked. I looked up at Aira to see if she heard what the little boy said. The kid looked like he was around the age of 5 or 6 and he was a bit smaller than normal. Aira bent down next to me and she spoke to the child in a calm voice.
“Crying sister? Do you have a sister who’s crying?” She asked. The little boy shook his head. Aira and I looked at each other, we didn’t understand what this kid was trying to tell us. “The crying sister next to our apartment. She cries a lot especially when the mean looking lady comes.” He said. I suddenly understood what he meant. He must be talking about Amelia, she must be the one crying and the mean looking lady he’s referring to must be Natalia. I looked at Aira and I could see that she was finally putting the pieces together. “Can you tell me where the crying sister is?” I asked the kid. He nodded and led us to the room at the very end of the hallway. The boy pointed to the room next to the one where Amelia was and he told us that that’s where he lived. His bed was on the side of the wall connected to this other room that’s why he could hea
[Terrence] “Thank you so much. I promise you, we’ll help the crying sister, okay?” Aira told the boy. He smiled at us and nodded. I patted his head and he turned around and walked back to his unit. Now that Aira and I know of this room, we need confirmation. We need to make sure that she’s actually in that room. “Should we knock?” Aira asked. I was thinking about it when I noticed the padlock on the door. It was locked from the outside so that must mean that Natalia keeps it locked so Amelia couldn’t get out. Aira was about to ask me why I’m taking so long to knock but then she saw the padlock. I could tell she was angry and upset.
