“407 must be the room where Natalia’s subordinate is. If someone like a PI or a police officer were to come over and knock on that door, they could easily alert Natalia and she’ll decide to move Amelia away from here. I believe Amelia is still here but she must be in a different room.” Aira said. I agree with what she said. Natalia has been seen going to this apartment complex multiple times, and seeing as how meticulous she is, I’m sure that Amelia is in this building. The problem we have now is there’s now way for us to find out which room she’s in.
Aira and I were about to give up when a young boy came up to us. He tugged on my coat and I bent down to talk to him.
[Terrence] “Hi, is there something you want to say to me?” I asked in a friendly tone. I thought this kid was just curious about us since we were standing in the middle of the hallway and he must’ve been wondering who we were since we must be a pair of new faces for him. “Are you here to help the crying sister?” He asked. I looked up at Aira to see if she heard what the little boy said. The kid looked like he was around the age of 5 or 6 and he was a bit smaller than normal. Aira bent down next to me and she spoke to the child in a calm voice.
“Crying sister? Do you have a sister who’s crying?” She asked. The little boy shook his head. Aira and I looked at each other, we didn’t understand what this kid was trying to tell us. “The crying sister next to our apartment. She cries a lot especially when the mean looking lady comes.” He said. I suddenly understood what he meant. He must be talking about Amelia, she must be the one crying and the mean looking lady he’s referring to must be Natalia. I looked at Aira and I could see that she was finally putting the pieces together. “Can you tell me where the crying sister is?” I asked the kid. He nodded and led us to the room at the very end of the hallway. The boy pointed to the room next to the one where Amelia was and he told us that that’s where he lived. His bed was on the side of the wall connected to this other room that’s why he could hea
[Terrence] “Thank you so much. I promise you, we’ll help the crying sister, okay?” Aira told the boy. He smiled at us and nodded. I patted his head and he turned around and walked back to his unit. Now that Aira and I know of this room, we need confirmation. We need to make sure that she’s actually in that room. “Should we knock?” Aira asked. I was thinking about it when I noticed the padlock on the door. It was locked from the outside so that must mean that Natalia keeps it locked so Amelia couldn’t get out. Aira was about to ask me why I’m taking so long to knock but then she saw the padlock. I could tell she was angry and upset.
[Terrence] “How dare she? She locked an innocent woman in this room. We have to get her out of here.” Aira said. I looked at the door frame and it looked a bit old and brittle. I thought that it was possible for me to just break the wood around the lock. I reached into my pocket and felt my car keys. I remembered that I could take my actual keys off the fob and I could use it to carve on the wood around the lock. I was about to do that when we heard a door knob being fumbled with. Aira and I both looked back and realized it was coming from room 407. Thinking that it could be Natalia’s accomplice, Aira and I ran towards the fire exit and we hid there. The fire exit door was just in front of the room where Amelia was. A guy walks in front of Amelia’s door and just stands there. He looked like a bad guy and he was even drunk. It looked like he was guarding the room.
[Terrence] “We need to leave for now.” I whispered to Aira. She nodded and we slowly made our way down to the lobby and out of the door. We ran as quick as we could back to my car and we let out a sigh of relief when we knew we were in the clear. “That was a close one.” Aira said. I nodded and agreed with her. We almost got found out by that guy. It would’ve been bad if we got caught trying to bust Amelia out of there. “Why can’t we just go in there and get Amelia out?” I said out of frustration. I slammed my fist on the steering wheel. I just want her to be safe. Although I might not know much about pregnancy but I know that she needs to be living life peacefully and not be subjected to this kind of stress.
[Terrence] “If you think about it, someone’s helping Natalia do all of this. From what I know, Natalia doesn’t have a job. It’s impossible for her to do all of this on her own. Someone’s backing her and it’s someone that has a very big influence. It’s not just someone we can easily deal with.” Aira said. Now that I think about it, she’s right. Someone is helping her so even if we manage to get Amelia out and throw Natalia in prison, there’s no telling what this person could do. He could easily take Natalia out and that would be even more dangerous. “For now, let’s go back and tell Kael what we found. It’s better for him to know this stuff now than let him find out about it later on.” I said. Aira nodded and I started the car. I asked her to text Kael and tell him that we’re on our way back and that we had to discuss something. Natalia is probably on her way back to the apartment complex as w
[Kael] As soon as Natalia walked through the doors of my office, I immediately put some space between us. She came over to hug me but I put my hand up to stop her from coming closer. She looked shocked at my actions and her once smiling face suddenly became grim. The transition between her smiling face and frowning face was so fast, it scared me a little. “What’s wrong Kael?” She asked in a cutesy way, not that it was cute. It was annoying and scary at the same time. I know she wasn’t like that before and seeing her act the way she is now, I can tell she wasn’t thinking straight. Before she came into the office, I texted Terrence and told him that Natalia was here. He replied by saying to keep her occupied for as long as possible. He was trying to get into the apartment while Natalia was here. I couldn't let that possibility go to waste so as much as I
[Kael] “Nothing, I’ve just been really busy.” I answered her question. She smiled at me and walked closer to my desk. I quickly pulled back all the documents on my table so she wouldn’t be able to see anything. When I did that, she had a weird grin on her face, it was as if I was looking at a psycho. I could tell she wasn’t feeling good, the dark circles under her eyes were a dead giveaway. “Did I make you busy? I’m so sorry, my love.” She said while speaking in almost like a baby tone. It was as if she was talking to a baby and not a full grown adult. It was disgusting, to say the least. I really didn’t want her to touch me but if I let her do that, she’d think that I’m warming up to her and she’ll try to stay here longer and that would give Terrence enough time to investigate. As she walked closer to me, I didn’t stop her. She snaked her arms around m
“Miss, here are the papers that need your signature for the finalization of the Spring Collection that will be featured in our fashion show.” My assistant came into my office and handed me a stack of papers. My name is Nagatsuka Akina, I’m the Founder and CEO of Hanazu Couture. Although my company hasn’t been around for as long as the other famous brands out there, we’ve become a household name in the fashion industry. I’ve worked tirelessly for the last 15 years to make this company what it is today.“Miss, I’ve received a call from...your father.” My assistant reluctantly told me. I had instructed her before that any business with regards to my family, I will not accept. I’ve told her that if anyone called saying they were my immediate family, disregard what they say and blacklist their number so they won’t be able to call again. She
I walked towards the shadow guard who called for me. When I was finally in front of him, he slowly lowered his mask, revealing his face. This was considered taboo for a shadow guard. No one, not even their master should see their faces. That was the only secret they were allowed to keep from their masters. I was surprised when he pulled down his mask."What are you doing?" I asked him frantically. I didn't want him to get into trouble. He shook his head and sat down on the windowsill. He was calm and it didn't seem like he was going to cause trouble. I relaxed my shoulders a bit and I took a step back from him."Why did you do that?" I asked. He was looking down on the floor when I asked that question. He turned his head towards me and shrugged."All this time, I believed that the master that I was serving was a good person. I knew of his story yet I couldn't understand the decision he made." He answered. I wasn't able to recall any memories fr
I didn't know how long I was trapped in my room but it felt like forever. The shadow guards would put water and food down by my door during meal time. I tried talking to them but they were silent as usual. The maids never came around to my room either. Even Mei, who would usually be with me, never came to visit. Did father do something to her? DId she leave or is she just following my father's orders? Either way, I really have to get out of here. All my windows had shadow guards under them. I couldn't even try to escape through them. There was no other way for me to contact the outside world. I was locked up and trapped inside my room. It's been a few days and maybe Prince Shiro will figure something out. Unless my father talked to him about my whereabouts, he would surely try to look for me."Hima..." I heard father's voice on the other side of the door. I walked closer hoping to hear what he had to say."I hope you're not putting your faith o
