Mitchell's POV

"What do you mean unfamiliar, didn't you grow up in this place?" I asked with a reading tone, making her roll her eyes before sticking out her tongue playfully.

"When I lived here back then the territory belonged to the royal witch coven but now it belongs to werewolves whose hearts are filled with nothing g but darkness. Can you see the difference? Even if you don't see it I'm going with you!" she stated firmly and got into the car under the scrutinizing gaze of everyone.

"Who are you?" Jissa asked curiously, her tone flat and curious while giving the weirdly dressed Miranda a once over. Miranda turned to me with a piercing gaze and pursed lips, "Don't you know how to introduce your acquaintance?" she demanded giving me a scolding gaze. I let out a sigh and relaxed into the seat feeling exhausted. I closed my eyes as I thought about having to stay with this lady if she went with me.

I felt her gaze lingering on me and I opened my eyes to see her judging gaze on me fo

Mitchell's POVWe finally arrived at the Golden Leaves pack, and some guards opened the door for us immediately after we were parked. Jissa, who slept almost all through the journey, was the first to come out of the vehicle. I followed suit and Miranda came out last. Her outfit made her look out of place, but that was what she had on and we had no choice. We followed the Golden Leaves pack guards, while Alpha Mergec's guards followed behind. The werewolves of my pack had looks of pity, some kept happy faces as they watched us walk through the large compound. Everything seemed to have changed a little and I was taking in the whole scenery. To my far left, the guard's quarters that was a bungalow had now become a group of storied buildings. Beside them was another building, a new one, but I had no idea what it was.Looking to the other side, I saw that the orchard was bigger now. More trees and shade, meaning more cool breeze. I could see some ripe fruits on the ground, and some Omega ma

Athan's POV"I got your message" I voiced as I walked into the Elder's council hall. All five elder were dressed in their usual black-robed attire as they sat around the oval-shaped oak table. "I'm not sure how I feel about being threatened to get a Luna in a time like this where Alphas are being kidnapped and killed for no known reason" I added with a scowl as I took my seat at the head of the table. All five elders slightly boarded to me, without a need to stand up. The Edler's council was put in place to keep the Alpha king, aka me, in check and make sure I don't overuse my authority. They are usually made of the oldest living people in our race with special abilities that were given to them by the goddess, although their primary duty is to keep the alpha kings in check, they get involved in other issues about the safety of the people. "We truly think this is the right time for you to take your mating seriously, our race needs a female leader. Her role can't be fulfilled by you n

Chapter ThirteenMitchell's POVFinally, the day was over and I had to go to bed, father, mother, my best friend– Jissa, and Miranda had made my day a blast. I felt like there was no reason to worry or sorrow any more. I wished I hadn't stepped out of the pack to marry Damien, but the picture of his torture and public disgrace was forever marked in my head as a memory of delight.Throughout the day, Jissa had taken it upon herself to tease me and my newfound mate. I couldn't believe I could still laugh that hard. The jokes had snatched me away from the pains of yesterday that tugged at my heart, but I chose to ignore them. Miranda seemed to be switching from trying to understand what was going on, to laughing at some jokes she may or may not understood but chose to join in probably because she was tired of being left out.All the memories of the day were blissful and I still had a big smile on my face as I climbed up the bed. "Alas," I said in resignation. This was the first time in

Chapter Fourteen I moaned at the top of my voice when he rubbed on my clit, and I couldn't help bucking my hips like stallions having a go at their female horses. This was a very rare feeling and I was surely going to make the best of it, I told myself. This couldn't be Damien, I convinced myself, because I was sure that he was not the type to be lovey-dovey with me. He derived pleasure from seeing me in pain. "Such a sadistic fellow," Athan said like he was reading my thought, and I threw backward as he pressed one finger, gaining entrance into my womanhood. This pleasure was driving me crazy and I was sure I was screaming at the top of my voice. He kept on until he added another finger and I could accommodate him. "I need you now," I said in a very dominating tone that I was not aware I had. Instantly, Athan took his hands out, but he remained bent over my womanhood. I needed him to become one with me but before I could protest I felt a hot sensation between my legs. Athan had h

  • Wolves of the legend    Damien's POV

Damien’s POVIt has been three days now and no one has come to me. Even my Luna refused to come and see me. Is this how the world works? The alpha king had had his guards take me by the shoulder, tied me to the pole, and flogged me till I couldn’t beg for mercy. It seemed like forever as blow after blow of the whips and rods landed on my back and sides. My wolf received every blow of the beating as I did. He couldn’t help me. When they started I saw the other werewolves stand by and watch me cry out as they applied the force of their whips on my body. They stood like helpless spectators while the alpha king, that stupid fellow, watched expressionless. I have never seen that fool show any emotion even when we saw it at previous meetings. My father and mother stood there, bewildered and helpless. My mother’s body was shaking from crying. The worst pain I received that evening was from my mate, my love Mitchell. It pains me so much to admit it but I had always loved her, but I treated h

CHAPTER SIXTEENDAMIEN’S POVSomewhere in the distance, birds chirped happily and I could smell lilies as they opened up for the first time this morning. One of the men tried to kick me forward and I winced in pain as I dragged my body across the wooden floor, toward the center of the circle the men had formed. My eyelids were still heavy. I knew every one of them from their scents. I had recruited some of them; others had been my contemporaries in my days of training. Their masked faces were my idea when I joined the group. It was a way to instill fear in the minds of whomever we captured. The circle broke and a lone figure walked it and stepped forward in the circle. I knew his scent too.He bent low and looked into my face.‘You have failed us. Therefore, you are of no use to us’, he said. His voice was gruff like he was just waking up from a hangover.I cried out, more out of fear for my life than out of sorrow for failing in my mission. ‘Please, I’m sorry. I beg you. Give me ano

DAMIEN’S POVOne of the brothers was commanded to look after me. He brought me medicines and food and kept me undisturbed in a room by a tree, where birds came every morning and evening. I was commanded to not go anywhere until I was fit to travel. When the brother who brought my meals noticed that I ate the vegetables more than the meat he brought, he spoke harshly to me.‘You should eat more meat so that you can gain your strength and agility quickly.’‘But my mouth still feels sore. I can barely chew.’ I responded‘Oh, I see that you just want to waste our time by delaying your recovery. It didn’t seem like you had a sore mouth when you were pleading for a second chance the other day.’If I had my way, I would know the living daylight out of this one, but there would be a chance for that soon. ‘The meat seems very tough and I can’t chew as much as I would want to, but I will do better.’‘You better, else I will tell the master you are refusing to get well.’ With that, he left the

MIRANDA’S POV I made a lot of mistakes on the afternoon of her abduction. That afternoon, the journey was going so well at first. After a night full of rain, the day was bright and sunny. We were on our way to the Athan’s palace. White clouds passed over greenery and white-peaked blue mountains stood stoically on the horizon. Mitchell wanted to visit and familiarize with her soon-to-be home. When the journey began, her car led our entourage. Consequently, our car seemed to overtake or her car slowed down, I don’t know how it happened. While we were on the journey, I felt a premonition but chose to ignore it; mistake number one. ‘What happened? • Wolves of the legend    Veruca's POV

VERUCA’S POV‘Any word from him yet?’The guard shook his head. I have tried to reach Athan since yesterday, to no avail. He was supposed to be back from Golden Leaves yesterday for the meeting. It was supposed to discuss the hunting rights decree by the new mayor who is human and does not know our ways and customs (given my way I would have eaten him up a long time ago), the vampire-werewolf uprising in the north, and Athan’s marriage to Mitchell. The whole tribe depended on the answer.‘Call his phone number again and let me know the outcome.’‘Yes sir.’ The guard responded and disappeared. The phone began to ring again. It was Elan, one of my new boys at the camp. I had recruited him specially to spy on the other boys. Sometimes those boys can make very foolish decisions that could undermine the brotherhood’s effort. I will not allow that.‘What is it?’ I didn’t wear my mask as usual.‘Mitchell is gone, and Damien too.’I hoped I had heard wrong. So I paused and waited for him to

JISSA’S POVWhat had just happened?I could feel my legs shaking. Scenes from the incident flashed through my mind in quick succession: the peaceful ride, the times I fell in and out of sleep, and the moment the car stopped and our driver announced that Mitchell’s car was gone. Even with these scenes, my mind tried to find a logical reason for the disappearance or how it took place.‘I want to go and find her.’ I declared suddenly, loosening myself from Miranda’s embrace.‘Where do you know you are going to start? I have already called Golden Leaves. They should be here anytime soon.’I didn’t pay any attention to Miranda. Her voice grew faint by the minute.‘Where did you stop seeing the car?’ I directed at one of the drivers, Miranda’s driver, I guess.‘Over there.’ the stout man pointed at a distance not far from where I stood.‘Jissa, you can’t.’ Miranda drew close to me and tried to take my hand.I turned to her and fired.‘Miranda, our friend is missing. MITCHELL’S POVToday is the day. I didn’t imagine this day would be like this. The flowers were more beautiful and the sun smiled dimly on us. Even the birds composed a little song for me and sang it endlessly from high up in the trees. Family and friends stood at the opposing sides of the aisle as I glided ceremoniously through it to meet the love of my life. He was standing at the other end, resplendent in all his manliness. His beta stood proudly beside him and Miranda watched at the head of the assembly. She was the ordaining minister. The floor was strewn with petals of Castilian roses. I have never seen that much in one place. And then, with a hot slap to my thigh, it vanished. My head felt as though it had been hit by a thousand bricks. I couldn’t see anything. Something seemed to press on my back. I tried to move, but it was not possible. I couldn’t move my hands and legs. They seemed to be held together by something rough and tight. I was on a cold surface. It felt like met

The afternoon was turning a golden brown and dinner would be served any moment. ‘You have marked her already and if it is the will of the moon goddess, who are we to refuse? She is on the way to your house now because she too can’t wait to be with you. So you see, it relies on the both of you alone.’ Mr. Harris said and his wife nodded enthusiastically.‘I know we are mated. DAMIEN’S POVWith the events of the night before, I felt confident that my plan was in place. Jubilant over my double achievements of winning myself over to Athan’s side and getting into the golden leaves pack, I decided to inform the master. After listening to my achievements, he will be proud of me.The phone only rang once, when the gruff voice picked up and answered answered. ‘From the blood of the pure.’That voice always sends chills down my spine. Can this man not be a little less frightening?‘For the sweat of the cause.’ I answered. ‘I have gotten into the enemy camp. Soon I will bring you victory.’I waited to hear something commendation or appreciation, but silence. Since my kidnap and rehabilitation at the camp, the master kept his distance from me. I was only to call him to make reports or ask for help. And to protect our identity we had to use a password, ‘from the blood of the pure, for the seat of the cause’, before we spoke. It was only invented right before I left c

Please try.’Jissa let out a laugh so hysterical it rivaled all those I had heard before. Miranda chose a settee close to the dresser, sat, and crossed her legs.‘Isn’t that why you love me? I have always been this crazy, from the very first day we met.’‘You get crazier by the day, Jissa. Don’t blame this on me.’‘I am only happy for you. Soon I will be an aunty and godmother. I saw her flinch subtly, and look at me‘No you are not selfish, sir.’ Her voice was low and
