Jason ended the call and turned to look at Julia, who had finally managed to fall asleep. He sat on the sofa watching her. Back in Mr Dickson's apartment, he was returning to the living room after getting himself a glass of wine when his phone rang. He quickly answered the call. "Yes," he said. "Sir, I couldn't get to Ms Harrison, but she is safe now," reported the man. "Who saved her?" Mr Dickson asked. "She lives with some two gentlemen, they came to her rescue," the man reported. "Okay, go back to our initial plan," Mr Dickson said and ended the call, assuming the rescuers included her husband and probably her husband's relative. He sat down on the sofa and continued to watch his favourite game on TV knowing Julia was safe now. Back in Jason's apartment, Jason draw the curtains as it was already late. They had only returned home with her a few minutes ago after rescuing her from James. If not for the tracking device Jason had put on her diamond earring, they wouldn't hav
"Do it now," Jason commanded and Mr Dickson grabbed his phone and dialled the number of the guy he asked to spy on Julia. "Put it on loudspeaker," Jason commanded coldly. Mr Dickson, quickly obliged, putting the call on speaker. "Hello sir," came the voice of the spy. "Have you found Ms Harrison?" Mr Dickson asked trying to sound normal. "Kind of," the spy replied. "My contact tells me the car with the specifications I gave you was seen around the airport," he added. Jason left the office immediately without a word. Mr Dickson was more relaxed when Jason left his office "Follow them," Mr Dickson said, ended the call and stood there wondering if he should still keep Jason as his deputy as he tried to recover from Jason's dangerous move on him just now. He thought about all the achievements the company had made since Jason joined and wondered if it would be a good idea to terminate him because of what just happened. Thinking about it, he knew he would have reacted in the same
"Now get out, I need to rest," Mrs Haward said and Mirenda left her room but instead of going into her room, she went out of the apartment. "Ma'am, are you going somewhere?" asked one of the guards who met Mirenda at the entrance. "Yes, but I don't need your help," Mirenda replied angrily and walked past him heading for the gate leaving the guard astonished. Mrs Haward looks down on people below her level, and James cares about no one but himself, so Mirenda is the only one who is nice to people. Jason does not look down on anyone but he doesn't like women around him but he has a good heart. The guard was surprised by Mirenda's reaction as it didn't seem like her. He walked back into the house dismissing what just happened as her having a bad day. "Since Jason left it looks like this family is falling apart gradually," the guard thought as he used the stairs to the guards' apartment. At the gate, the security man saw Mirenda and realised she didn't look okay. "Ms Haward, pleas
At 6 pm, Jason's plane landed in Florida, meanwhile, Julia was lying on the bed, eyes wide open and wondering why Jason did that to her. Jason, after going through the checkpoints, hailed a cab to what used to be his apartment. It was 8.30 p.m. when he arrived. Nothing had changed about the apartment. "Sir, you are welcome," said the security man with a smile. "Thanks," Jason said and headed for the apartment entrance door. He used the elevator to the 7th floor first. He still had the spare key to that apartment on that floor. He unlocked the door and entered. He went straight to his room and unlocking the drawer he opened the safe inside and took an envelope out. He left the bedroom and exited the floor locking it. He used the staircase to the 6th floor and entered the living room. "You are finally back and your emotional bag of a sister is out. I thought I was going to stay in this apartment alone tonight?" Mrs Haward said without turning to see who had entered. "Good evening
Jason went to sit next to Julia and held her hand in his. His tears rolled down his cheeks. He stayed by her side all through the night till morning. Julia had woken up a couple of times all through the night till morning but she went back to sleep after a few minutes. Jason knew Julia didn't want to see him and he didn't want Julia to see him in tears, so he decided to leave before the effect of the medication wore off and she was fully awake. Jason paid the medical bills outside the ward in full to have Julia treated and bought a newly furnished apartment in Julia's name. He got her a housekeeper and instructed the housekeeper to take care of Julia. He booked a hotel for three days. It was past noon when he was done with getting the house and housekeeper. He only called the doctor whose contact he had taken the previous day and found out how Julia was doing. He lay on the bed with Julia's words playing in his mind like a tape recorder. The doctor's word on the loss of his child
"Ma'am, lunch is ready," announced the servant. Just then Mirenda entered the apartment and all eyes turned to her "Good evening," Mirenda greeted them as she walked in wondering why they were all looking at her. James and Mrs Haward remained silent as they watched Mirenda slowly walk towards the direction of her room after greeting them to which they reluctantly responded. Mirenda knew immediately they were planning something which could only be against Jason and Julia. She wondered what they were planning. "What is going on?" Mirenda stopped to ask seeing how her brother and mother were looking at her. "Please excuse me," the servant said and left the living room. "I am going to take a shower," James said and kissed his mum on the cheeks before exiting the living room for his room, completely ignoring Mirenda, who was still frozen to her spot staring at the both of them. "Sit down," Mrs Haward said to Mirenda as soon as James exited the living room. "Where did you spend the
"You are the stolen child of the Coopers," announced the old man and both Jason and Benjamin looked at the man surprised. "What are you talking about Dad? What stolen child? Jason was adopted by Mr Haward, do you not remember?" Benjamin asked the old man, who he had earlier introduced as his father. "Sorry J, my dad is old and sick. He doesn't have a sharp memory anymore and sometimes says things that don't make sense," Benjamim said to Jason as he tried to send his father back to his room. "Mr Haward adopted you from the Coopers who abandoned you after stealing you, a month-old baby from your real family?" said the old man who refused to leave despite Benjamin's attempts to send him away. "What?" reacted Jason with a frown and also wondered how long his friend Benjamin had known he was adopted hearing the statement made by Benjaimin earlier about him. "Dad, please, let me take you inside," Benjamin persuaded and turned to Jason. "Don't take it seriously I am sure he had mistaken
"He misses her," Peter thought and smiled as Jason exited his room. Jason returned to his room, closed the door shut and leaned behind it. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, unlocked the screen and went into his gallery, opening Julia's picture and staring at the image for a while before closing it. Meanwhile, at the same time in another location in Florida, Julia had just returned home exhausted from her job hunt. "Welcome home Ms Harrison," said Mary upon seeing Julia enter the apartment. "Thank you, Mary," Julia said, changing her shoes into her house slippers. Julia walked straight into the kitchen and opened the fridge grabbing herself a bottle of water. Her phone vibrated and she remembered she had not checked her phone the whole day. She fetched her phone from her bag as she responded to the housekeeper's question about how her day went. She unlocked her phone screen and saw a message from her bank. She quickly searched through her messages after checking her call lo
