Mirenda stood there in the living room not sure how to react. "I can't believe that innocent-looking quiet girl has this in her," Mirenda commented. "How could I have been so stupid? So Jason and Julia are in this together?" she asked with shock. "Yes, unfortunately. So you see why I want to punish him?" Mrs Haward said and Mirenda nodded in agreement. "You and James are my top priority and I will not allow Jason to hurt any of you," Mrs Haward said and kissed Mirenda's forehead. Just then there was a knock on the door after the elevator bell rang. Mirenda left the living room for her bedroom. A servant quickly came to answer the door and ushered in a lady. "Ah, Barbara, you are here. Have a seat," welcomed Mrs Haward. Barbara sat down and showed Mrs Haward something on her phone and Mrs Haward's lip curled into a broad smile as her eyes glittered like two moons. "Good work done, Barbara," Mrs Haward said and walked her to the door. Mrs Haward returned to the living room a
"The landlord is here. He is asking us to leave his apartment," Julia announced with a worried expression. Jason just nodded and went back to resting his head in his palms. Julia stood frozen at the door not sure what to do or how to console Jason. In just a day so much had changed. Jason had fallen from grace to grass. Yesterday, he was the world's most treasured, today he has become a con artist in the eyes of everyone. Julia had not gone online to read the latest news about Jason and since they arrived at the apartment the previous day, none of them had gone out. Julia took slow steps towards Jason as her heart ached looking at him, but before she could get any closer, Jason spoke; "The reporters are out of our premises, right?" Jason asked. "Yes, please," Julia replied and Jason nodded. "Please get me, Peter," Jason requested and Julia nodded, returning to the living room and doing as requested. Peter quickly went upstairs walking past Julia who stood frozen behind the sofa.
They proceeded to the airport in the morning and checked in. In a few minutes, they were airborne on their way to London. After hours of staying in the skies, they finally arrived in London City and boarded a taxi to Croydon. Julia was exhausted from the long hours on the plane. It was her first time on a plane after flying in a helicopter. She was already having a hard time. On the flight, she kept throwing up occasionally. She could barely keep anything she ate on the plane down. She looked sick as they rode to Croydon after throwing up so much on the plane. She rested her head on Jason's shoulders as they sat in the back seat of the car while Peter sat in the co-drivers seat. "Are you okay now?" Jason asked with concern, whispering into Julia's ears. She just nodded a 'yes'. Jason and Peter were used to taking flights as it was the usual routine for them, but that was not the same for Julia. They soon arrived and checked into a hotel. Julia took a shower once inside the room and
"Okay, let's put the house in place then," Jason suggested, and they got to arrange things the way they preferred in the apartment. While the men were rearranging things in the house to fit their style, Julia went to a nearby supermarket to buy some food items to prepare lunch. She returned to the house to see the changes the men had made to the house. The new arrangement was very nice. She quickly went to the kitchen and prepared noodles with vegetables for the afternoon. They all sat behind the dining table and ate the food. "Thanks, Julia, the food is very delicious," Peter complimented, but Jason remained silent as he ate his food. It was his first time eating such food, and it was a little spicy for him, but he still ate it. Julia had prepared noodles for lunch because she knew that would be ready in no time. Looking at Jason's face turning pink. It suddenly dawned on her that she had never seen Jason eat noodles, and she started feeling very bad about it. Jason tried but coul
After supper, Peter went to see Jason. "Mr Haward, I have a suggestion. I want to run by you," Peter began, and Jason gave him the go-ahead. "My qualification is not helping me much in my search for a job. I was thinking of becoming an Uber driver," Peter said. Jason raised his eyebrows looking at him but started thinking about what Peter had suggested. Peter, seeing that Jason was silent, knew he was thinking about what he had just said, so he decided to add more information that would make his suggestion a good one. "I was thinking I could drop you at work in the morning, and do my Uber work and come pick you up when you close, which will equally be my closing time. Instead of the car being parked, we can make some extra income with it" Peter added. Jason thought it through and felt it wasn't a bad idea and if Peter was okay with it, he didn't want to stop him. "That is okay. Find out everything you need to know about becoming an Uber driver, and we can buy a car," Jason said
"Hello, everyone. Thank you very much for joining us on our show tonight, themed; Time with the Hawards. As you are already aware and may have seen or read on social media, the Haward family recently was faced with a family scandal, as someone considered one of their own turned out to be a con artist. Today we will be getting some insight into what happened. Here with me now is Mr James Haward as our guest," the host said, smiling at James, and he returned the smile. "We will take a quick commercial break and go right to business when we are back. Stay tuned," she added. After the commercial break, the host addressed the audience again and started with the interview. "Welcome back everyone and Mr Haward, you are welcome to our show. Are you ready?" asked the host. "I am ready when you are," replied James calmly. "Great. Very few people know you as a Haward. The lovely audience will like to know why you have chosen to hide from the public?" asked the host. "Well, treasures are h
Mrs Haward's jaw dropped upon hearing James, and she remained frozen in her spot after James entered the apartment. Mirenda sat on the sofa in the living room when James walked past her and headed for his bedroom. He was already exhausted from all the night's activities. Mrs Haward entered the living room a few minutes later and was also heading for her bedroom when Mirenda spoke. "Mum, you know we went too far with this interview thing?" expressed Mirenda. "Honey, when people play dirty, you play dirty too and make sure yours hits them harder," replied Mrs Haward. "Is that what we were doing? I may not like Jason, finding out he stole from us, but we lied to the whole world. What if someone finds out?" Mirenda complained. "Oh Mirenda darling, I did all of that for you and your brother. That is what mothers do; fight for their children. That viper would have put us on the street. I have to make sure he doesn't come to fight you all," Mrs Haward explained. "Do you understand?" sh
"Why did his father choose Julia for him and why was their marriage organized the way it happened?" Jason started thinking. "I need answers," Jason said to himself, and put the certificate back. He returned to his desk to continue with what he was doing but realised he could no longer concentrate. Clearly, there was something about Julia he needed to find out. Growing up with Mr Johan Haward as his father, he knew he didn't just do things. There is always a reason behind every decision he takes and executes. Julia must be very important. "What makes her important?" Jason thought, recalling the basic information shared with him the first time he ran an investigation on Julia. He fetched his phone from the table and dialled a number, bringing the phone to his ears. "Hello, trust you are well. I need you to do some work for me. I need information about someone: my wife, Julia Harrison. Get me everything you can find on her," Jason said and disconnected the call. Unknown to him, J
