Chapter 13
The next day Saul and Sophia went to the house of the client.
His dad’s words from their earlier conversation rang in his head when they were on their way. “You might be wondering why I'm sending you to a small ranch owner for a deal when we have a whole lot of employees to work for us. The place has got some of the best grapes which will turn out to be a fortune for us in future. Owner of the ranch is a difficult woman. That is where you come in. We have tried everything to get that piece of land. Money and pressure don't seem to have any effect. We have 3 weeks to get this parcel in escrow. If not, the deal falls apart before Christmas.”

Sophia looked at the empty large fiel
Chapter 14“After thoughtful consideration and looking at the parameters of your land, I would like to offer you a fresh deal.” Saul wrote the price on a fresh piece of paper and gave it to Ms Smith.“Sell the ranch to us but keep the wineries with you since it is your hereditary. I can understand your sentiments. In this way you would keep the heritage which you had been carrying since ages. We would buy the wine from you and sell it in the market as a limited edition.” Saul declared.“I would like to have a moment with my daughter.” Ms Smith politely excused herself with Tiya to another room.“Have you seen him properly yet, mom? That man looks like a clever soap opera. I
Chapter 15Sophia took two steps forward squaring him in the eye. Her eyes glowing at him in live embers. “So you did a background check upon me.”Saul maintained his silence, returning her gaze with nonchalance. She nodded to him, tightening her lips before she replied. “Well if you had not done it, that would have been an amazement for me. After living with you under the same roof for the last twenty days, at least this much I know about you. People of your category can't trust anyone. Actually you're paralyzed billionaire.” She spat the words with venom at him.Saul was out of his wits but she was no less and wouldn't allow him to talk. “Physical disability can be healed with medicin
Chapter 16“No sir, you are assured of it. This area is among the quieter places in the city. There is no paparazzi attraction here.” The man spoke with a smile.Saul released his breath in relief. “Thank you for the information. You kept her engaged all this while before she reached the bed with someone in her inebriated mess. Hope this will take care of everything.” He placed a few dollar bills on the table. The bartender's face brightened looking at the bunch of notes Saul placed for him.“Come on Sophia, let us go home.” Saul reached her. But she stopped him once again with a finger on his lips. “Shh, didn’t I tell you, I am not coming with you. My friend Lia
Chapter 17She had no forethought and planning. Isn’t it? Sophia understood when a person’s days turn wrong even the wolves in the forest will start counseling them on do’s and don'ts.“You thought you would go to that womanizer and I will keep my hands folded here like an impotent husband? Ms. Sophia Campbell, you might not be aware of the qualities of that pig, but I sure do and I will not see my wife turning a whore right before my eyes. He will eat you alive and then sell you to a brothel the next day to fill his pockets.”“About whom are you talking about?” Sophia asked him cluelessly in a fit of anger.“Your boyfriend, Liam. Wasn't he supposed to come to th
Chapter 18“It was not a mistake Liam, but a blunder. What you were about to do to me can be forgiven but not forgotten. Since you are my childhood friend, for the sake of our long friendship, I will pardon you.” Sophia would not have given Liam a second chance in a normal situation but she assumed herself in his shoes for a moment. If what he did was wrong going drunk then what she did to Saul by giving unwarranted information to the bartender was also wrong. However he forgave her and accepted her back.“We all make mistakes when we are not in our right state of mind. But I hope you will not repeat this mistake again in future.” She told him, taking a long deep breath to pacify her chaotic cells.“Regarding marriage, I can't develop any feelin
Chapter 19Before Sophia could ask anything, both of them could hear his telephone ringing. “Yeah, I will be coming.” Saul replied to the speaker on the other end. After finishing the chat he seemed excited. “Ms Smith invited us to her house. They are hosting a Christmas party tonight when she will give us the signed documents of the ranch.” He said with triumph.Sophia nodded with the same sad expression. “You may go. I'm not feeling well.” Her eyes were trained to her fork and knife which were playing with one another. It was confirmed something is not up to its mark. Saul slowly walked to Sophia so that she didn't freeze with his proximity. He held her lower arm with one hand and lifted her head up holding her chin with the other. &ldqu
Chapter 20Cassandra gave an understanding smile to Tiya. He did not notice the unsaid eye conversation between the mom and daughter. Her slip in the kitchen was intentional to get closer to him. However Saul was clueless about it. He genuinely feels sorry for Tiya for spraining her ankle. “You should have watched the floor. How did you hit the water jug?”“In the process of removing the fish fingers from the pan, my hand hit the water jug nearby and the water in it dropped on the floor.“Oh my baby, why were you in a hurry? Saul would have stayed for a little more time. He is a man with a good heart and he likes you.” Cassandra brushed the hairs of Tiya in affection.“Tiya
Chapter 21The complete atmosphere fell in silence after the ladies heard Saul’s paroxysm. Several moments of shock continued in between the woman. Finally they looked at each other and Cassandra asked Saul accusatory, “so all that hunky funky business with Tiya was only for the sake of a contract?”“Hunky-funky?” Saul threw his words on Cassandra carelessly. “I never crossed my line with your daughter. On the contrary I was always avoiding her touch and keeping myself away. She was the one who was on me all the time like a creeper and shamelessly flirting with me right before you. Haven't your daughter ever seen a man? I think it's high time she finds one, if not for companionship at least for sex.”“Enough! I had tolera
Chapter 46A spark ignited in her as his tongue walloped into her mouth like a wave of ambrosia. The soft caress gave way to something deeper, more urgent and luscious in her. “If this is a warning, I am into it because there is no thrill in the game, there is no danger. Anyways, stop representing yourself as a demon because you are completely contrary…. very careful and gentle in making love to me.”Sophia could feel wetness between her legs. He is everything that she aspired to in her man. It has been so long since she experienced something like this which is so intense, efficacious and powerful.“Your lips….I love them.” He whispered between their cogent canoodles.Sophia giggl
Chapter 47Sophia giggled and pulled his face to her lips before she kissed him. “I have forgiven you long ago. You are such an attractive man that anger doesn't last for long.”Saul got energized by her words like fuel into the machine. His fingers worked with spontaneity bringing them in and out of her. “I want more, I want you in me.” Sophia cried, going zealous.Saul gave a teasing snigger. “What happened to the shy, stereotyped girl with respect and manners? You seem to be so advanced.”“Walking on your footsteps, my dear husband, why should a girl feel shy before her man? Anyways I learnt the best enjoyment in sex happens when you push all your reservations to th
Chapter 45Saul was about to leave the bedroom like always without replying but Sophia’s words stopped him. “Running away from the past doesn't classify you as a strong person. I thought you would challenge your problems rather than run away from them. You promised me Saul that you will give me replies to everything tonight.”Saul scoffed, turning back and looked at her tiredly. “Stop asking questions like a donkey in shrek. Okay I agree I'm not as strong as I project myself. Every person has his/her drawbacks. This is mine. I can't go on living my past for you because there is nothing interesting or memorable in it.”“Like a donkey in the shrek?” Her eyes dilated with his statement. Sophia was more than hurt. “I thought I cros
Chapter 44“Have you ever experienced miracles in your life? What happens if Greg was all this while alive and stands before you one day in future?” Anticipation was evident in his eyes.Sophia stared at him like he had grown two heads on his neck and then all of a sudden burst out into huge chuckles. “I don't believe in miracles. They only happen in fairy tales.”“Maybe not.” Saul couldn't dare to look into her eyes.“Sometimes what you talk about is very cliche Mr Campbell. Don’t worry, you are the only man in my life.” Sophia took his thoughts lightly but Saul was serious. He pondered, even if he tells her he is Greg, she probably will not believe him.
Chapter 43“Hmm, why do you think I do not know you? I know you more than you can imagine. It would be surprising but I fell in love with you and married you.” Saul came forward and held her face in his hands. “I don't do business with my family and I don't combine family and business. According to me every businessman should know where to draw that line. Otherwise you never know when the sword strikes and your head is in your hands.” His voice was in a tender susurrus which was surprising to Sophia’s ears. She had never heard Saul so caring and loving towards her.Saul wanted to take one step at a time to disclose the truth about him to her. In that way her mind will be prepared for everything. Secondly, after these three months of living with her under the same roof, one thing is clear to him. He
Chapter 42He observed the blood pressure of Sophia slowly rising and promptly changed the topic forcing a smile. “I confessed the truth that we are made for each other and I love you. Now that I totally know about your past, I will wait for the day you accept me in your life.”“I am sorry. I couldn’t lock it in my mind because of the palpitation.” Sophia was happy with Saul’s decision to give their marriage a second chance. Maybe their wedding was not as bad as she thought. On the contrary everything in Saul’s mind was in chaos. A couple of hours later when the doctor came to check upon Sophia he told him about her memory loss. “Like you assumed Mr Campbell, the last few minutes of her memory before the attack are erased from
Chapter 41Saul felt Sophia’s body unmoving. He couldn't feel the beat of her heart and his pulse escalated. Immediately he pressed the bell and the nurse arrived. “My wife…she is not breathing.” He stammered getting panicky. The nurse checked the eyes of Sophia and ran out to call the doctor. The whole medical team arrived in a matter of seconds to Sophia’s room. “Sir, you please need to wait outside. We got to examine her.” One of the junior doctors told him.“But, she is my wife. I can stay with her, right?” Saul was out of his senses. He was insisting like a child.“Yes, we understand your worry. We will take care of her.” The physician understoo
Chapter 40“Why don't you tell her that you love her?” Dori asked Saul curiously.Dori was on the verge of recognizing him. And in case such a day arrives in his life he wanted to tell Sophia everything about him on his own instead of giving that chance to someone else. Word of truth should always be direct. He needs to tell something very convincing to Dori to keep her questions about him faded. “You can express your feelings to someone who has the capacity to understand you. Unfortunately my wife is an idiot whose brain stopped developing after she turned five.” Saul smacked his lips.Dori couldn’t control her chuckles for Saul’s description about Sophia. In the meantime the rescue team arrived. They put unconscious Sophia on a stretcher
Chapter 39A big laughter erupted out of Saul with a hidden grief in his words. Women can cry and release their grief. But what about a man? He can neither cry nor stay emotionless because he is also born as a human. “I was just wondering at what juncture you will show your true colors. Frankly speaking, did you ever love me at any point during our last few months of marriage?”“There is no use of behaving with you civilly because you are my wife. That sort of love should be from both sides. But since the beginning of our marriage it has been only one sided.” Saul scoffed.“Ha ha, you must try to be a stand-up comedian because you joke like nobody can. Love was one sided between us? Actually you must say love is non-existent between us. A man wh
