Bravery Is...

Allen was of the mind to prove him wrong now. He had some ideas done what to do. He was not much of a fighting champion and the enemy had come armed with guns, but they were probably not trying to kill him. Else they could have already done so.

He knew that they were going to injure him. With a point-blank range, they would not be much careful. When they had gotten extremely close to them before they had shot at them; he had gotten barely scot out of that before. That was the first time in his life that he was shot at. That was why he was terrified and just wanted to get out of there. The last thing on his mind would have been to confront them. But that was what he was tasked by himself to do now.

He would not let some depressed man justify his depression because some situation in his life hit him. That problem was always going to come on him. The man said that he tried what he could, but he had taken the responsibility for her from her family. It was his duty to fulfill that.

Allen appeared, encircled by the forces. Now he could more clearly see what he was dealing with. There were more than a team of 40, most of them armed with weapons. Some looked especially there to subjugate him. Some medics were also there, which made it clear what they will do to him. They were not taking multiple medics for the safety of their own crew after all.

Allen was already feeling quite cold seeing those weapons pointing towards him. His mind was not working at all. His legs were not moving. It was like they were frozen into the Earth. He could not move at all, but there was another person with him right now that he had to take to safety. He did not know their motives, well, kind of he did. But no human being needed any other human being alive as a prisoner for good reason. It was going to be very humiliating whatever they had in mind, especially considering that they were not even willing to negotiate with him at all.

Allen had very minimum hiding spot in this area, not to mention that they were pointing his gun at him, intending to shoot them if he did anything on his end. The other person by his side had already fallen to the ground, with the feeling probably being greater in her, as they were the ones to attack her family house. They didn’t kill; they kidnapped them. She probably could not explain that and hence could not tell him. That must have been illogical, even to herself. That was what he concluded…

Allen tried to step ahead, and they fired a warning shot at his foot. His heart started pumping even more vigorously, and sweat covered him in no time. This was no rain.

Allen looked around and he could see that near one vehicle they were using to navigate around, there seemed to be a superior officer that was organizing everyone and giving commands to them. It was entirely possible that others would retreat if he could only…take him down somehow, maybe take him down with himself.

While he was stressing about what to do, the enemy was not still in one spot. They had formed a perimeter around him, with the leader sending only two of the men to him,…Allen looked carefully at them and waited for them to approach him. They were near him when some forces at the perimeter suddenly shot at both of his legs, which effectively made him paralyzed and scream in pain. He could not support himself and fell with a loud thump with some dust rising.

The enemy forces did not wait for him to balance himself and one of them swiftly leaped forward to bind his hands, but before he could do so, he was met with a red-eyed Allen, whose eyes the person looked at only for a moment before his eyes were covered in dust, dust that Allen had scrambled to grasp in his hand when he fell. That was also the reason some dust had risen before, otherwise, dust would not have risen in a rain-soaked area.

The man, although unbalanced, did not open fire for fear of injuring others with it. But others swiftly did. They fired two bullets, one shot inside the stomach of Allen, other Allen could avoid, rather the person with him was a shield against that bullet. This made the attacker no 1 scream in pain along with Allen, for a split second both he and the forces halted their movements against him because of the confusion, and in that period he could only try to do what looked workable in front of him, he grabbed the gun of the attacker no 1 now in his hand’s reach and opened shots at the leader. Unknown to him, out of the bullets he fired, two actually hit the leader. This made the others go on a sort of emergency. They opened fire with less restraint, but one of theirs was very close to him and there was a great likelihood that he was going to be shot dead so very few shots were fired. Allen could use attacker no 1 as a shield for one or two bullets, multiple he had gotten shot with, however. A lot of blood was flowing out of him, but it was good that the enemy forces had now retreated as they were shooting at him.

The man by his side, although shot less, was also on his way to death if the forces did not return, which they probably were not going to, since their commander was in danger right now. It did not like he was going to let anyone else from their crew get into danger, especially since Allen could still use the shield by his side and also use a weapon accurately….

Allen, however, was seeing dark spots already, since he had more bullets embedded into him than this enemy by his side.

He looked at the person by his side, that he was supposed to take along with him and could see that amid their escape, they had shot two bullets towards her, which both hit. One of them was even critical. She might even leave this world sooner than him….

Allen could only slightly remember why he came here and the picture of the man came to his mind. His last thoughts were spinning in his head, he thought…but actually, he arrived in front of the same man, who kind of looked even sadder now for no reason.

Allen could see that the injuries that he got inside the domain were….actually there. But, they were more on the level of slight pain and bleeding instead of the life-threatening situation inside.

Allen tried to read the mood of this man whom he had seen before and now, Allen could prove his point, but he didn’t want to go prove it a second time if he could help it. The man looked at him and said, “So, what do you have to say”

Allen said,” What happened, happened to the both of us. Although a sad ending, still would be better than what they were planning on doing with us by far, I believe”

The man wanted to say something, but words did not escape his mouth for some time. He finally sat in a chair that he had gotten out of who knows where and then said to him” Actually…that would not have been a sad ending”

Allen said, “It’s worth the pain I went through if you got that message out of this”

The man shook his head and said, “I think you don’t understand. Let me show you something”

Allen was back into the domain, and his pain returned…he was about to scream in absolute pain and anger….but then stopped. The pain was at a manageable level. He looked at the spots that the bullets had entered. He could see that they were healed quite a lot. The only thing that was preventing greater recovery were the bullets, which were made to exit gradually by the force of the skin “POp, pop, pop” were the sounds as the bullets fell. Allen looked at his body and screamed louder than before. This was too terrifying to him, to see his body do this kind of thing in front of him. The small amount of pain left was on the back of his head.

After that, Allen looked towards the woman who was shot by two bullets and he could see that only the critical hit spot still needed attention. Allen focused on her and he saw that the speed of her recovery increased.

He heard someone say, get close to her, and he could see that when he reached 1 foot within her body, even her critical hit spot was healing so much that it seemingly could not take her life anymore Allen almost jumped in shock more than a few times, seeing this kind of recovery in her.
