Itijah had never expected Walter to appear at all.

He had never once considered Walter to be involved when he planned to kidnap Dahlia in order to threaten Austin.

Itijah knew that Walter could not help Austin directly, other than helping Austin secure the position as head of the Campbells.

Walter wasn't so powerful as to be able to make decisions all on his own within the Campbell family. He would be restrained by other factions within the family, and most of all, Dorothy herself.

When Itijah first led the Emersons to plunder the inheritance left by Walter to his wife and child, Walter was held back by his family and could do nothing but watch in humiliation as his efforts were stolen away.

Itijah couldn't understand why Walter would appear right here right now.

He would've even thought that Dorothy had already passed away if he didn't already know that she was still alive.

Walter smiled. "Father-in-law? You were no longer my father-in-law when you abandoned Dahlia. My wife and
