Chapter 8

CHAPTER EIGHT 

MY HOME

I realized it was my savior from earlier, I halted and approached the car

"Why are you still within the estate?, Don't you value your life?" Asked my savior with anger

"I'm sorry, something hap....." I tried explaining but was interrupted

"Save it and get into the car" my savior sighed

I hurriedly entered the car because Mr. Ross would be on his way back. In no time I was out of the estate and never to return.

Inside the car, I was given a first aid box

"I'm sure you know how to treat your wound, yeah?"

"Yeah, thank you" I nodded

"I will drop you off at your Alexander's house" another bomb landed on me 

"What? Why?" I asked uncertain about the motive

"What do you mean by why? Isn't he your boyfriend?" Third shock

"Huh? How did you know?" I feared for my life

"I'm not blind neither am I dumb. Don't worry, I'll keep your secret besides saving you is already a big risk. For the records, don't think I'm happy with your relationship with Alexander" the person scoffed 

"Ohh" was all I could say because I'm short of words.

Leaving Sunny estate and knowing I'm free from that family flooded me with relief that I've never felt before.

I was lost in thoughts, thinking about my future that I didn't know when we arrived outside of Alexander's gate.

"We are here, you can leave now"

"Thank you very much, I appreciate your kindness" I bowed in respect.

"You don't have to be thankful. Just like I said earlier, I'm repenting of my sins and trying to accumulate good virtue" a loud chuckled erupted from the person's throat.

"Okay, thank you once again" with that I opened the passenger door and stepped out, closing the door. My helper gave me a curt nod and drove off.

I looked at the familiar mansion and a smile crept onto my face and I immediately forgot about my pain.

I pressed the gate bell and the security inquired about my name and the reason for my visit, which I provided accurately after which he told me he will get back to me shortly.

I guess he's new because the gate keeper Xander introduced to me the last time I was here is an older man Mr. Potter and we are kind of friends, you can't blame me for been friends with my grandpa's age.

After few minutes the gate opened and I was expecting to see the gatekeeper but instead I saw Xander and the look on his face was that of shock, pain and confusion.

"May I come in?" I asked weakly

"Yeah, sure, of course. Sorry I got stunned for a minute" he blabbered

I stepped inside the compound and started walking toward the house when I suddenly got lifted off the ground and onto Xander's strong arms.

"Xander what are you doing?" I whispered 

"Carrying my girlfriend into the house or is there anything wrong with that?"  He grunted. 

He is angry, I can see how hard he is trying to keep his anger in check.

"No" I replied not wanting to push further.

I know he is angry because of how I look. Who am I kidding? I look like shit

Not wanting to say the wrong things unintentionally and make him more angry, I'd rather shut my mouth and that's exactly what I did.

I guess he didn't want me saying anything because he didn't ask about how I sustained the injuries.

We enter the house and he took me straight to his bedroom and placed me on the bed.

"Is this not the same bed that Selena sleeps on?" I couldn't help but ask

"I told you she never comes to this house because I don't allow it. Here, it is just you and I, so can you relax now, let me prepare a bath for you?" He sounded irritated

"Yeah" I mumbled

He stormed into the bath room and few minutes he came back into the room before making a quick call to his personal doctor, telling him to come over.

After ending the call, he walked up to me and without my permission began to remove the remaining piece of cloth I had on, not like I care though.

Few hours after experiencing a near rape incident, I thought the touch of a male gender would repulse me but I'm surprised Xander's touch doesn't repulse me, maybe because it's him and I trust him so much.

He helped me up and I was bare before his eyes and I wasn't shy because he has seen every inch of my body before.

He swept me off my feet again, carried me into the bathroom and then into the bathtub.

The water is lukewarm and my favorite bath bomb was added. Gently he washed my body after the bath session, Xander wore me my favorite night floral gown.

A maid brought me dinner I thanked her when she came back minutes later to carry the dishes. All through the time, Xander sat at a corner looking at me, it was almost as if he's monitoring me.

"What is it?" I asked unable to pretend his eyes weren't boring holes into my body

"Nothing" he grumbled and looked away

"Seriously? Why are you acting up?" I flared up. I understand he is angry but c'mon.

"Why am I acting up? My girlfriend shows up at my door looking all bloody and in a terrible shape. How was I supposed to act? Please tell me because this is the best reaction I can come up with right now"

"I'm confused as to who did this to you and why. So please Gina tell me" he pleaded with bloodshot eyes, running his fingers through his hair in frustration.

For a minute I didn't want to tell him, but the greater part of me wanted to tell him not minding the consequences and that was exactly what I did.

"It was Mr. Washington, he almost raped me and during my struggle, he hit me with a night stand lamp and that is how I got bloody" I summarized the unfortunate incident.

I wanted to continue but I looked at his face and he was red with anger, his fingers were tightly clenched, I thought for a second his bones were going to break and he looked so terrific, I even got scared of him for a minute. So I decided against it.

Hoping he would say something after listening to everything I said, I was left disappointed when he didn't say anything instead left when his doctor came to tend to my wound.

Dr. Kelly as he introduced himself redressed my wound and recommended I register for therapy to avoid future trauma.

Just as he was about to leave the room, Xander came back this time he was more relaxed and collected.

"How is she?" He asked the doctor

"She's doing pretty well and it shows just how strong she is. The main thing she needs now is therapy" he said looking at Xander with all seriousness.

"Okay, I'll arrange one for her. Thank you very much for your time" Xander shook hands with the doctor

"You're welcome Mr. Knight" with that he left

After doctor Kelly's exit, Xander walked towards the bed and sat besides me.

He took my hand in his and squeezed it softly.

"I'm sorry babe, I'm sorry I reacted the way I did. I want to let you know that I don't blame you for anything that has happened"

"I just didn't want to imagine what you must have gone through and to cap it all, I wasn't even there when you needed me the most. I'm the worst boyfriend in the world and I don't deserve you" he dropped his head in regret.

"Hey, it wasn't your fault at all Xander, there's no way you could possibly know what was going on in that house" I frowned

"...and what the fuck was Ross and his wife doing?" he fumed

His inheritance still depends on those devils and I don't want him to lose it because of me but I still wanted him to know, so I told him Mr. Ross was responsible for the setup.

"The hell? How dare they hurt you like this? To destroy what is mine? I'm going to destroy all of them one after the other" He lashed out again

"Calm down babe, trust me I know exactly how you feel and I'm really hurt but I don't want you making rash decisions. If you want to start with anyone, let it be Washington and after you've successfully gotten your inheritance, you can deal with them in whatever way you deem fit" I tried reasoning with him

"Alright, let's drop this topic for now. It's time to sleep, you need all the rest you can possibly get " he laid down and I laid next to him with his hand holding my waist in a firm grip, it's as if he's sacred someone will steal me away from him.

Sleeping in my man's arms, on his bed caused me to smile and with satisfaction filling my mind, I feel into a deep slumber.
