“As you wish,” Baz said, as he took Franklin’s stuff to the car. Franklin walked toward Maia after Baz left. He nodded and smiled at her. “It’s been a long time, Maia.”

“Indeed, Franklin.” She nodded and smiled politely.

“I’m aware you respect me, Maia. I also know you’re just being polite, but I always ask for a mile when given an inch. So, I’m going to leverage your respect for me and talk to you about something private. Do you mind?”
