"I'm off to bed." Alistair announced.  They just completed the day's training and settled at the living room to rest.

"Come on, 'listair. It's still very early."Claire said.

"Well, I'm tired" Alistair replied. "Need to rest."

"But, I have a scene on my mind and I'd love to watch it today"She dragged Alistair back to her seat. "Let's say the training is over and the it's the Masters turn to fight."

Emiliar who had a broken nose, gasped in delight. "Masters huh. I'd also love to watch. Hehe!"

Alistair looked puzzled. "What are you guys talking about?"

"I mean you and master Ethan should try a fight."

Alistair pouted. "Maybe some other time." She quickened her pace towards the stairs but Ethan's voice interrupted her.

"Are you scared of me?" He smirked.

Alistair clenched her fist. Scared? What on Earth...!

"You know I'm not. I'm not just in the mood."

"You should show us Alistair."Emiliar said. Alistair gave her a

** Katrienair's POV **I was hot, caged in a vacuum. A fire burned by my side while I was chained to a metal wall. I knew I instantly where I was. The demons have me now and they can do with me whatever they wish. "You should not be afraid of anything. We are unbeatable..." Alistair's words kept my sanity and fear stood afar away. While death stared at me with it's cold icy blue eyes, all I could think of was Julian. He really is a case. Why did he snub me like that?! He owes me, a big apology. He made me looks so stupid. How dare he?!I tried to move my neck, a stingling pain stopped me. That pain, so familiar. But what exactly is on my neck?!I scanned the room for any sign of life but there was no one around. Disappointed, I shut my eyelids again and drowned back in my sleep.*"Katrienair!" A familiar voice called out. Slowly, I opened my eyes. Bright green light flushed into my pupils causing me to blink several time before I could put myself together.

" Alistair, may I?"Ethan peeped in through an opening in Alistair's door. He noticed she wasn't sleeping anymore. Alistair could not get enough rest so she retired to studying."Sure" She smiled. Ethan walked in and sat opposite the study table. Time passed stealthily, Alistair's eyes were fixed on the book she was reading while Ethan waited patiently for the right time or let's say, the right words to use to begin his talk. He had longed to speak to her since he saw her. She is Alistair, the Almighty princess. She knows more secrets of the coven than he does. Though there are some she would not know about. She was never a commoner like him. Commoners has some advantage over royalty."You really want to have a talk, don't you?" Alistair got tired of the awkward silence between them."You look so busy. You should take the book away at least." That told Alistair all she needed to know. She has never been a good host. She should have kept the book away."I ... I apo

"Father, please listen to me" Julian pleaded. They've been talking for like hours now and have not come to a common agreement. They might never."You are about to make a grave mistake. She is the chosen one.""You keep spewing that rubbish. I am the chosen one. No one is, except me. I do not and will not believe that damn holy book. It was written by our ancestors who failed. Don't be so naive Julian. You will take this throne after me. You should be ready to compromise laws or books. You should be able to make your own.""Do not kill her today father. I plead on her behalf. She does not deserve death. She accepted our mark, our culture. She's one of us now. You can't just kill for no reason.""Who told you I can't?"Roger smirked. "Ruel!"He called out one of his guard. Ruel walked in and curtsied. "Call an assembly. One person would go down today.""Roger!" Julian yelled in rage. Roger dismissed the guard and faced Julian."Son. Maybe you should te

The others were training in the living room so Alistair decided to use the back door. She ran along the aisle, Luna leaping behind her. She would visit the castle today and no one would stop her. The back door which hasn't been used for centuries creaked on her first touch. She was about to walk out when she felt a hand dragged her back. She tried to struggle but froze in place when she saw who it was. Ethan!"Where are you going miss?" He asked. She flinched from his hold. "None of your business." She spat and headed towards the door but he grabbed her by the waist and held her close to himself. Their faces were just a inch distant from each other and in some way Alistair felt her brain would stop its work if she didn't act fast."Let me be Ethan!"She shrieked. He only held her closer."Huh?"He murmured. "You want to go out. Should I remind you that you are the most wanted in this territory and this is the only safe place you can be huh?"Alistair

Lake of fire.I'm not scared. Even if Alistair has not told me about our special powers and how it resists fire, I think if be ready to die now. For heaven's sake, what else am I living for?! Everything is wrong with me. That coward! My chains were lose and four mighty guards got hold of me. I felt like a queen accompanied by a convoid to her final home, her death. How sweet? The lake of fire, here I come. My carrier stopped a few inches away from the fire, to avoid being hurt by the fire. Then, I thought I'd really die. I looked around to search for Julian's but he wasn't anywhere close. He wasn't there. If I'd really die, I'd like to at least see him before I go. Heartbroken, I asked the guards to go ahead. They carried me high above their heads at threw me with all the force they could manage. I closed my eyes, awaiting whatever life held for me. All I could do was pray.*Julian rode as fast as he could to the sacred house. He needed to see Alistair. Whe

Sylvia was in the kitchen, helping the other maids with the cleaning up when she got a call from her master. Her master, the army head of the white coven controls the remains of the white coven since they had no leader. Obviously, her migration brought her here as a maid. She was glad that at least, she arrived safely at her coven. She bowed on seeing him."Burn this piece of shit for me."He threw her a piece of paper, like a letter. She picked it up and walked away. He stopped her."Wait, go to the Raven house. Write to the demons that we would settle for a negotiation." Sylvia was shocked. She wanted to argue but remembered her place. She bowed and walked away. Since she joined the castle, she has been his most trusted servant and she would not want to take that for granted. She opened the letter when she was in a safe place. It was from the demon king, he offered a negotiation, though the terms haven't been made. Sylvia knew it was the worst decision he could make. She

"Everything will be alright 'listair."Ethan said to Alistair who was lost in thought at her window. Her door was ajar, he saw her, still by her window and decided to check on her. He stood behind her and embraced her fearlessly. Alistair's body shook in shock. That was too sudden but she found herself giving in to his comfort. She straightened her back and leaned on his chest. To her, she was just in one of her fairy tale dreams." Are you okay, Milady?"Ethan asked cautiously."Ethan."Alistair ignored his question. "Can you see what I'm seeing?" Ethan followed her gaze to the sky, he was completely puzzled. What the hell is she talking about?! She is really a weirdo."You can't see it huh? But it's there. It's there in the sky. It's dark but not dark..." She was blabbering. For a moment, Ethan thought she was drunk but she is not."Look well Ethan. It's there. It's not really dark. There at a corner, there's...""Light"They echoed. Alistair giggled. She was

We rode silently through towards the sacred house. I was more disguised in the cotton jumpsuit I wore. And Julian won't be easily noticed by commoners because he did not have his badge on. For the first time, he journeyed in only a shirt. He burned our coats at the brothel to avoid being traced. We both looked like a couple on an adventure. Julian was able to get only a horse. I hung on to his back while he rode. When we got to the sacred, I left him out to meet my peers. They all looked surprised to see me except Alistair who jumped happily at me. She held me close like she's never letting go."Alistair was scared." Emiliar joked. "She got us all scared Katrienair. Thank God you're safe." She joined our embrace and Claire."Joel is outside."I announced. "Im staying with you guys now."A smile formed on their faces. Somehow, I felt loved."I'd go see Joel."Alistair left. It's the first time she ever called him Joel. That got me curious. I saw Luna run down t

"Deal?"Roger asked."The men would have to fight fist then."Alistair replied.Julian stepped out, Raleigh also. To Julian, the fight was for a different cause. Raleigh had tried to poison him the night before, he hadn't exposed him because he knew deep down that it would be nicer if kept it for another day. The day came rather too quickly. Raleigh also was eager, with Julian out of the way, his plan would go out just well and he'll have the whole demonic territory to himself, probably the whole world."I've always waited for this day"Raleigh muttered, am evil grin on his face."Then go on." Julian's expression was rather bland. The two charged at each other. Julian held his lance to a perfect aim while dodging Raleigh's spear. I never expected the fight to be so short and easy. The spear caught Raleigh right in his chest, below his heart though. That could not make him die but at it he got weak. Julian walked over his body and brought his spear down to his heart. Bloo

"You will rot in hell!"He yelled and turned to leave. Alistair stopped him."Who deserves to rot in hell Roger?"She spoke into the conch. "You have just one day to make a choice. It's either you come down here to surrender to us or we break into your walls."Roger laughed, sounded like it rooted from some bottled forces in his chest. "You that kid! Let's see who lasts one day."He walked away.I faced Alistair. She just made the wrong decision. Giving Roger even a second can change the way things are going."You know Roger would never surrender to us.""I don't intend to keep him either"Alistair said. "Even if he surrenders, I won't let that devil live, never. It's better to catch the devil unawares. We are going in now."I smiled. Alistair's smart. I guess you have to be a demon to fight a demon. I'm proud of her."So, how do we get in?"I asked. "The soldiers can't climb. They won't be caught unawares then."Alistair nudged me by my side. "You

"Next, little bit of rain."Alistair said on getting towards the castle, then the rain began. This time, chilly waters dropped. We saw that the walls have been shut tightly with everything Roger possessed. It's the first time in Roger's history, he got suddenly scared of war. It isn't a war anymore or is it?"We're not burning down the castle. Let's go back."I only followed her command. We turned back, going back to our comrades. Looking over the wretch we've created, I could not help but feel pity. I, Katrienair, that weird kid in school, had a part in these. It's unimaginable. I've really grown up and things have really changed. I remembered Arkishair and muttered a little prayer for her. Alistair noticed, her next words proved it."She'll be proud of you.""And you too."Alistair shook her head. "I don't think she would remember."We got to the spot the white coven's army stood, they was massive celebration in the air. They were rejoicing because our

The number of Roger's troop seemed limitless and no matter how many we killed, it seemed futile. For every hundred that was killed, two hundred appeared. All the while the horizon continued to flood with them, row after row, division after division, crammed up like a million worker ants. They were able to stop the fire, they pushed off the flaming soldiers away an took up new positions. The death of several thousands of their men didn't even put a dent on their forces.Yet at our side, every death made an impact, though we didn't have many. That kept my hope alive. We were already far away from the hill where the war started. Our army was still very much in the spirit. I was proud, they had sustained injuries but that didn't stop them. The key was just the best. It was killing four men at a time. I swinged it around while moving and ducking at the same time. At the corner of my eye, I heard a scream. I had less time to linger on that sight because I was being attacked from ever

I stood on the top of one of the hills of the northern province of the demons territory, my comrades by my side. The demons' soldiers were already on the horizon. We planned to go meet them at the castle but the sudden change of event didn't matter anyway. All around, men were busy preparing their weapons. Archers took positions, thousands of them, arrows and bows also ready. If they want it on this hill, so be it. Thousands of more men took positions with Spears, young legion members with slings. Thousands of men beneath the hill had swords and Shields and every weapon imaginable. Israel was giving commands, with Alistair, looking stronger by my side. I felt optimistic. This is the war I've lived for. With the Key wounded in my hands, I already knew what the results of the war would be. It would be a hard one though.I looked again over the horizon and reminded myself of what was coming. The demons has never been defeated on any battle. I forced myself to believe that this ti

There was a feast at the castle. The usual kind of feast Roger has whenever a big war is coming. Julian was in his chamber with kabal, teaching him the things he needed to know, when a guard informed him about the feast and that the king asks that he must be there. Kabal had mix feelings about it but he could not stop his master from attending the feast. Julian instructed him to turn off the lights and go to bed but Kabal could not. He felt something was off. Maybe something really was off. He left the chamber, though late, he had lost sight of Julian. He walked round the castle, searching for the exact place the feast was holding but didn't find it. It's a private feast so it wasn't taken at the assembly hall. Frustrated, he retraced his steps back to the chamber. He was stopped by whisperings from a room, the royal kitchen. His curiosity led on and he decided to have a peek through the half closed window. He saw Raleigh conversing with the head nurse. He had to strain hi

Sylvia curtsied on seeing Israel walk into her apartment. She had stayed in, brooding since their last talk."Sylvia, how are you doing?"Isreal took a seat on the couch."I'm okay Milord."She answered."You told the head of maids you weren't."Israel haf asked of her from the head maid since he didn't see her thought-out his preparations for Karen and her company.Sylvia muttered an apology."Have you remembered?"He asked. Sylvia gave a solemn nod."Then I have no choice" Israel said. "We have a big war tomorrow. The chosen one and her comrades have arrived. You need your memory because you would be at war tomorrow and you need to remember your fighting skill at least. I can't leave you here in he castle. It's not safe. You will be awake before dawn, surel

I decided to go check up on Alistair. Ethan was exiting the room when I walked in. I saw Alistair on her bed, head buried in her pillow. I got curious. What happened here?"Alistair." I joined her. "Hei, it's me."I removed the pillow from her head. I saw her relax. She opened a drawer and gave me a photoframe. I was stunned. There was a couple in it. They looked very young and beautiful. The young woman had long curly golden hair, her green eyes stood out in the picture. The young man was like the most handsome being I've ever seen, I had to remind myself it's just a picture. He had flashy blue eyes and perfect black hair."Our parents. You never met them but..."I was so shocked on hearing this that for a moment I doubted my ears."What did you say?""That's mom and dad. You know them now."She yawned."Oh my...they are stunning. " Is that Alistair, the first princess of the white coven." Israel shrieked on seeing us. Even his guards, wore a surprised look. I took a glance at Alistair. Well, her expression was bland but I could tell she wasn't enjoying the publicity.Isreal walked up to us as we dismounted from our horse. He bowed to Alistair. She only nodded."Oh my goodness Milady, we all thought you were dead.""I am."Alistair finally spoke. "I mean, for now. You and your guards should keep this as a secret for now. I'm not ready to reveal myself to the public, okay?""Okay, Milady"Wow, Alistair's perfect!*We walked along the aisle, Israel leading the way. He looked less frigid than he was the last time. He was happy, though when he asked for the chosen one, I said I had no idea. He was surprised I could lift the key, I guess that shut him up. He said he had prepared a table for us but we insisted we needed to rest. It's no good time for eating, is it?He
