CHAPTER 74

"I really thought you would let me spend Christmas alone this year, eh," said my father despite him getting busy cooking one of his specialties; Kaldereta Chicken with pineapple.

As planned, the morning of this Christmas day we returned to Manila to be with our respective families.

"I won't agree, yet." I laughed a little while helping him cut the ingredients he would need.

The reason why we're cooking is that later this evening, we're expecting to have visitors---Eli's family are whom I am talking about. Aunt Lea wants to be with us this Christmas---Papa and I. So, to return the gratitude, Papa and I are the answer to the food and the venue is here at our house.

"Come here, Irene. Taste if it tastes okay."

"Hey, you haven't put these pineapples in yet-"

"That's just for garnish, hija." And again Papa beckoned me to come to him.

So, that's what I did. I came closer and tasted if the taste of what Papa had been cooking was okay-

"Are you even real? This… is delicious, yet!" And I scoop
