"There's something I need to tell you," she said, her voice shaking.

Her husband looked at her with concern. "What is it?"

"The baby isn't yours," Katara said, her voice barely above a whisper. "There's a chance that Jacob is the father."

Her husband's face went pale, and he stared at her in disbelief. "What are you saying? How could you keep something like this from me?"

Katara felt a wave of guilt wash over her. "I'm sorry. I didn't know how to tell you. I was scared."

Her husband shook his head. "I don't know what to say. How could you do this to me?"

Katara felt like her world was collapsing around her. She had never seen her husband look so hurt and angry before.

"I know it's a lot to take in," Jacob said, stepping forward. "But we need to talk about what we're going to do now. We all have a responsibility to this little girl."
