One day, as they were preparing for an important catering event, Katara's fears boiled over. She and Josh had been working together in the kitchen, chopping vegetables and bickering about the best way to season the salmon, when he received a text message.

Katara tried not to look, but she couldn't help herself. She glanced over and saw that the message was from Sarah.

Her heart sank. She tried to keep her voice steady as she asked, "Who was that?"

Josh looked up from his phone, a slightly confused expression on his face. "Oh, just a friend."

"A friend?" Katara said, trying to keep her tone light. "From college?"

Josh nodded, his attention already back on the cutting board. "Yeah, we've known each other for years. She's married now, actually."
