Chapter 06

Argo cried looking at Edward with disbelief that his best friend had died. He then took Edward's hand again and checked his pulse to see if Edwards was dead.

This time Argo felt Edward's pulse beeping. After that, checked Edward's chest and felt Edward's heartbeat was also ringing.

“Thank you, God! Thank you for providing safety for my best friend.”

Argo immediately smiled happily because his best friend was still alive.

He then asked several security guards to help him take them to Medika Hospital.

Meanwhile, Tiffany had just arrived at the front door of the Davidson family's house which was right across from her family's house.

The Davidson family are best friends of the Granger family who are very close like the biological family.

Tiffany rang the bell. Shortly after that, her best friend came to open the door, he is Anton Davidson.

“Tiffany.” Anton smiled at the arrival of his best friend. “Why didn't you tell me you wanted to come here?”

“Anton, I have something important I want to talk to you about.”

“Okay, let's talk inside!”

Anton then invited Tiffany to the living room.

Their father is a best friend since they were children who are very close like family.

After having their respective wives, they decided to live in the same housing so they could be best friends forever.

That's what made Anton and Tiffany able to form a friendship like their father because they lived in the same housing since they were children.

“I'll bring you some drinks and snacks.”

“No need, Anton. I want to talk to you now.”

Anton was silent staring at Tiffany's face which looked full of sadness. He then sat in front of Tiffany.

“What's wrong, Tiffany? Your face looks like you're holding a lot of sadness. Is there a problem you've been having recently?”

“Anton, where are your parents?”

“They went to France to see my grandfather who was sick.”

“Don't you know about the car accident that just happened to my father and my father-in-law? I didn't see you coming to my baby shower either. Where have you been, Anton?”

Anton was immediately shocked to hear the news. His eyes widened and his mouth opened wide.

“Mr. Granger and Mr. Alexander had a car accident? Where and when did they experience it? I'm sorry, Tiffany, I'm not feeling well today. So I decided to rest and sleep through the day.”

When Tiffany was about to explain to Anton, suddenly her tears fell.

She cried again because she felt very hurt remembering that the husband she loved so much had hated her. She then took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.

After starting to feel calm, she immediately explained in detail about the misunderstanding that had occurred between her family and Alexander's family.

“Oh, my God! How could the Alexander family think that Mr. Granger had killed Mr. Alexander? It all happened by accident, not on Mr. Granger's will.”

Anton couldn't believe that the Alexander family could misunderstand like that to hate the Granger family.

“Help me, Anton! Help me to find evidence that can make Alexander's family aware that my father is not a murderer.

If I can't get that evidence, I will lose my child. When this child is born, Edward will take this child from me.

We all know the Alexander family is a very rich billionaire family. They can do anything with the money they have, including getting custody of my child when it's born.”

Tiffany asked her best friend for help with a cry of fear because she didn't want to lose her child.

“Calm yourself and don't be afraid, Tiffany. I will always accompany and help you.”

Anton walked over to Tiffany and sat next to her then hugged her. Trying to give peace to Tiffany.

Tiffany hugged Anton tightly and let out a painful cry in Anton's arms.

Shortly after that, Tiffany got a call from Argo. She then immediately picked up the phone.

“Tiffany, come to Medika Hospital now! Edward is here because of a recurrence of a heart attack.”

“WHAT? OH, MY GOD!”

The bad news immediately made Tiffany feel very shocked. She also felt very worried about Edward's condition.

Even though Edward had been very mean to her, she still loved him very much.

“What's wrong, Tiffany?”

“Edward is now in hospital with a recurring heart attack. Can you accompany me to go to the hospital, Anton?”

“Of course. I also want to meet Mr. Granger there. Wait a moment, I want to change clothes first.”

Anton went to change clothes. After finishing, he and Tiffany went straight to Medika Hospital.

Meanwhile, Argo now sitting next to the bed where Edward lay unconscious.

The doctor said Edward's condition was very unstable because the relapse he was experiencing made his heart now weak.

That's what made his pulse stop beating for a while because his weakened heart caused his whole body to become problematic.

“Edward,” called Mrs. Amanda who came with Rossalie. She then hugged Edward with tears because she was so worried about his son's condition.

Mrs. Amanda and Rossalie are in good condition. They just had a normal faint due to the effects of the extreme shock.

They were placed in a different room than Edward. After waking up from fainting, the doctor told them about their situation and also about Edward's condition.

Even though the doctors said that they would do their best to save Edward, Mrs. Amanda and Rossalie's tears continued to fall.

Today they just lost Mr. Dave. So they were very afraid that Edward would die like Mr. Dave today.

“Mrs. Amanda, Rose, calm yourselves. Edward will be fine because the doctor has said that they will do the best for Edward.”

Argo tried to calm them down, but they kept crying out of fear of losing Edward.

After seven minutes of crying, they finally calmed down and sat in silence waiting for Edward to wake up from his stupor.

Thirty minutes later, Tiffany and Anton arrived at the room.

“Edward!” Tiffany immediately ran and hugged Edward with crying worries.

“KEEP YOUR DISGUSTING BODY AWAY FROM MY SON!” Mrs. Amanda snapped and then pushed Tiffany until she fell.

She felt very unwilling to see her son embraced by Tiffany who she considered a daughter of a murderer.

This shocked Anton and Argo. They also felt very unexpected to see that Mrs. Amanda could be so cruel to Tiffany who was pregnant with her grandchild.

“GET OUT OF HERE! I DON'T WANT MY SON TO BE DISTRACTED BY A KILLER DAUGHTER LIKE YOU!”

Anton helped Tiffany to get back on her feet. After that, looked at Mrs. Amanda with anger. He must have felt very angry because his best friend was treated so rudely.

“How dare you be rude to your daughter-in-law who is pregnant. She is pregnant with your grandchild, Mrs. Amanda. Did you forget about that?”

“She just got pregnant, so it won't be a problem for her pregnancy.”

“You shouldn't hate Tiffany like this. You and your family have misunderstood. Mr. Dave died by fate, not by Mr Granger.”

“SHUT UP YOU!” Mrs. Amanda snapped at Anton then took the cellphone from Argo's hand and threw it at Anton's head in anger.

“AH!” The throw was so fast and rough that it instantly made Anton scream in pain and hurt his head badly.
