"I wouldn't need to judge you, that is, if you actually bothered to hit the books like the rest of us" Gawain said with bland eyes, hearing this caused her to grit her teeth in displeasure at how hypocritical he was being.
"And you haven't been bothering her with potions?" Helga challenged but he remained emotionless.
"Unlike you I was comparing my notes, I had done the homework I just wanted to make sure I was doing it properly otherwise we would have to repeat the year. Something I'm sure you'd be on guard for" Gawain said as they watched her face flush from the comment.
"I-ugh-fine I'll hit the books! Just this time I really need your help Anberine, once you have the time" Helga said now looking away wearily, blinking after her eyes recovered from the unwanted situation Anberine stared at them.
"It's fine, not like it won't benefit me anyways" Anberine replied in a monotone voice that had Helga smirking at Gawain, who kept narrowing his eyes at Helga's smug face in return.
"See? Told you" Helga gloated but was silenced by his expression which in turn had her go pale.
"A-Alright fine! This will be the last time" Helga said before seeing her other friends enter.
A thin bluish green-haired girl with a stylish blue dress and black boots entered, her skin was pale white but thanks to her hair she looked as if she was glowing slightly.
Her hair was also in a decorative blue ribbon, meanwhile her emerald green eyes were filled with mischief and mirth as she took in what was happening before her.
"Heard the nobles were pestering you" the girl winked while a pure venom green-haired girl wearing a gothic black dress and boots entered the room with a pursed lip.
"Won't be forgetting the joke this time around" the green-haired girl said while eyeing the door that was masking the noise of chaos outside, disgust filled her face for a brief moment before a sardonic smirk discretely formed on her face form knowing what they had done.
Not even the snobs outside would know what hit them.
"What did you do?" Marcus asked bluntly as he kept his hand on Anberine's back.
"I'd recommend you not using the public toilets for a while... it's quite an unsightly mess out there" another male said as he entered the room, he had bluish-green hair and green eyes while his skin was pale white like the others.
He wore a royal blue shirt and baggy blue trousers over his black boots.
"No fair Perceval! And I missed it" Helga whined loudly as she threw her apple with a wave of her hand, only instead of landing on the floor it magically made it land in the bin.
Her hands slammed the edges of the counter that she was leaning on causing a loud echoing thump.
"Don't worry Helga" the bluish green-haired girl giggled daintily while her fingertips covered her smiling lips.
"The aftermath will be worth the watch" hearing this Helga stood up, waving goodbye to the group before eagerly running towards the door.
Not showing any signs of looking didn't look back, seeing this Gawain sighed and silently followed Helga knowing that this wouldn't end well.
"I'll watch over her to make sure she doesn't damage anything" Gawain said as he walked away while they remained silent.
"See you Gawain" the bluish green-haired girl called with a soft smile.
"See you Merlia" Gawain replied dully to his friends as he followed after his overzealous fellow Dark Dweller.
"It's times like these that we need to put a tracker on that girl" Gawain muttered as he followed behind Helga with his hands in his pockets.
"Class is starting in a few, do you want us to walk with you since we have the same class?" Merlia offered Anberine who bit her lip weakly as she remembered what happened.
"It's fine... Marcus is in the same class" Anberine said knowing that it wouldn't do her any good given how she would still be bothered in class.
Seeing this, the green-haired girl rolled her eyes.
"It's going to be fine, most of the woodworms will be in the bathrooms for hours. Serves them right as well. Oh and by the way, that little herb does do wonders even when it's a concentrated amount" the girl said with a dark smile that grew wide enough to have them staring at her.
"Don't make it obvious Gana" the bluish green-haired male muttered with a frown etched on his face, looking at him her eyes twinkled with the same slitted eyes that almost matched his.
"Don't be upset Mordred, you did help me with transmitting the smell of the potion through the air" the female replied with a twinkle in her eyes.
Sighing heavily Mordred shook his head.
"Morgana you're impossible, stop before you get caught" Mordred scolded sternly as he caught the sound of the doors opening.
"I'll pretend that you said nothing" the cook said sternly as she held a large worn-out brass pot despite the fact it was a little heavy.
Her long white dress which contained grease stains on various parts of it, meanwhile a white apron was tied on her front contained a few stains thanks to the food.
Her hair was also tied into a small tight bun while some long wispy strands hovered on both sides of her face.
Seeing her with the large pot Mordred immediately went to help the cook, who in turn thanked him softly as he placed it into a washing tub.
"Sorry Morgause" Morgana chimed with a sweet smile earning her a sour look from the cook, seeing Anberine eating the cook nodded sharply.
"Just make sure you be discrete, the King Uther's going to be very angry when he finds out that you're abusing your powers once again" the cook warned before resuming her washing.
Mordred meanwhile helped Morgause by bringing in more dirty cutlery alongside Merlia who beamed brightly at the group.
"What he doesn't know won't hurt him, all he will hear is that a bad smell entered the room and everyone ran. Well... the cook didn't run because how could she smell the flower in question?" Morgana asked with an innocent look on her face. Marcus folded his arms.
"Morgana, stop" Marcus warned earning him a long look before she relented.
"Fine, by the way class starts in ten minutes so we need to move now" Morgana said as she placed her hands in her dress pockets.
Looking at Morgause Anberine thanked her before handing the empty plate to the woman who smiled in response.
"Go and enjoy what's left of the class" the woman said softly before handing Anberine a flask of water, the older woman felt relief in knowing that Anberine was in safe hands after what transpired a while ago.
Nodding her thanks Anberine followed her classmates to class.
“This is so exciting! Potions class, I wonder what we’ll make today?” Merlia asked with a peppy smile before winking at a distressed noble who was jumping from one foot to the other as the toilet was being occupied. Now staring at her he froze and panicked before rushing to find the nearest toilet thanks to the minor slip of concentration.Seeing this Morgana chuckled faintly while Merlia giggled daintily as walked in step with Anberine.“I think we have a lesson on love potions today” Anberine commented as they approached the classroom to see a tall man with blue and yellow robes, his hair showed signs of turning white but still remained black signalling that he was in his mid-fifties.“Good afternoon Mr. Jilbari” Merlia greeted causing the man to raise a brow as he stopped the chalk he had writing on the board with his magic.“Sti
“That was scary” Helga whined softly as she wiped her forehead when they left the class. Now mentally happy to be away from their Potion’s Teacher who gave them occasional stern warning about misuse of potions and spells. So far she stayed with the group since they had nothing left to do for the day.Eventually however everyone arrived at Merlia’s room which consists of blue walls, on the walls and ceiling they contained light green markings that glowed softly in the dark.Near the bed was a single wall shelf that had some books while some dresses that were half made were littered on the table by a sewing machine.Moving a stray sleeve from the chair Helga took a seat while Merlia happily resumed her sewing, Mordred meanwhile activated a statue on the ledge of their window with his magic.Soon a grey owl made of stone was formed and began to take fl
“Take a seat” he said not looking at them, instead his back was facing them as he stood facing the window. His hair was dark brown and his eyes were sharp cold grey and often sent chills down the one’s spine. On edge the Dark Dwellers observed him as they either sat down or stood by the others.“I’m sure you’re wondering why I called you here” the king said while holding his hands behind his back.Mordred frowned at the king not saying anything as he suspected they would hear it anyways.“You see the kingdom has been at peace for a while however, I grow tired of the separation between our realms” the king said calmly piping their interests. At the same time they masked their suspicious glances in order to not arouse the King’s suspicions.“Well your family has been the reas
“I’m glad I found you Anberine! I have a project for you” she cheered while a stunned Anberine who had been close to dropping more than one drop of the vial’s contents into the pot froze. Not trusting her voice she stared at her friend in surprise as she placed the vial down.“Um... what?” Anberine asked looking speechless from the sudden entrance, seeing this would have made Helga laugh had she not remembered why she needed her friend.“Come on! The others are waiting for you” Helga cried as she dragged her friend out the room.“But what about my stuff?” Anberine cried in shock from the sudden pull as she still had the vial in her hand.Flashing a worried look at her bag and books she had a sense at that moment people could steal once they realise who it belonged to.“Forget that, we need you
“I need air” Anberine said weakly as she walked away from Merlia and Morgana, grabbing her bag she opened the door and didn’t look back leaving some of them surprised at how she would refuse so quickly.“She does have morals” Marcus said calmly catching the girls’ attention.“Her aunt had taught her to never use magic as a way of getting revenge since it would never solve anything”“But we need her to help make it, she’s the best potion maker we know and we’ll most likely ruin it” Helga said with a weak withered look, frowning Perceval watched them.“Stop using her to help get ahead, we’re smart aren’t we?” Mordred said as he now stood beside Perceval, Helga and Morgana stared at him in surprise.“We made it this far so why are we using her to get ahead? Why don’t you study
“I can’t otherwise he will not fall for any of you, the potion requires one person to make it. No involvements or exceptions” Anberine explained with a grumble, blinking Mordred tried to think of a solution.“What if we make the food or drink and slip it in after you’ve made the potion? Surely that would counteract the requirement?” Helga suggested causing Merlia and Morgana to ponder on that question.“Worth a try” Merlia said before looking at her anxious friend with a sheepish smile.“Please Anberine, we really need your help and we wouldn’t ask you to help us with something like this unless if was important. Our people need to be free from the King’s control and I’m sure you want the Light Dwellers to be free from his rule as well right?” Merlia asked, Anberine bit her lip as she stared at them and then the paper.Walki
“Exactly, so don’t give it to anyone else and please Morgana for our sake" Mordred stressed as Morgana sorted out her dress skirt."Don’t mess it up” Mordred warned sternly knowing what Morgana was like, hearing this she frowned at him. After placing the cake in a small protective grey tin, she held it while placing her left hand to her hip.Her pouting grew from his cold words knowing that he meant well but wished he didn't treat her like she was incapable of doing something important.“I know what I’m doing, it’s simple. All I’m doing is giving him the cake and that’s it, why do you need to make it sound like I’m going to mess it up?” Morgana asked bluntly as she shook her head, her dark green tresses moving side to side before they rested on her right shoulder.“Because this is crucial, we can’t mess
“I just realised, the spell won’t work if he is in love with someone else” Anberine scolded herself quietly before pausing as she realised what she had said.A dry chuckle left her lips shortly afterwards at the funny thought of him actually being in love with someone other than himself, or even the fact that he even cared for anyone in particular given how he acted like he had a heart of stone.Hearing her reply Marcus snorted sharply from the amusing thought.“Worst case it just increases his obsession” Marcus said jokingly before shaking his head with mirth in his eyes, placing his arm around her shoulder he gave her a comforting smile.“It’ll be okay, with luck the spell will attract him to Morgana” Marcus assured Anberine who was still uneasy about the whole thing.“IF it works” Anberine said sternly before hearing
"You did this!"Skye shivered as he sat in the dining hall, hands clenched on his lap under the table. He resisted the urge to move even though it was proving to be difficult thanks to what transpired hours ago."It'sall your fault!" Skye bit his lip as his heart continued to beat heavily in his ears, causing them to become red from being overwhelmed."Are you alright, sir?" Skye almost released a mocking laugh at the irony, unsure on whether or not she was pretending to fake ignorance. Not that he would blame her."Am I alright?" Skye wanted to ask aloud but had no energy to speak, his eyes were growing heavier and more unbearable thanks to how hard he was repressing his tears. Sadly he could feel water staining parts of his eyelids leaving him wishing he was away from prying eyes.Whether she was a look alike or not, if by some di
"King Arthur's story!" another boy whooped, not realising that they now had an audience. Skye however was left surprised, especially since it was nigh impossible to hear about the tale of King Arthur. A thing his grandfather had made sure of stayed hidden in order to cover his tracks, to Skye's annoyance."Now let us sit down and listen carefully okay?" the woman added before moving her head down slightly in order to read the book."Yes Miss" the children chorused eagerly. Without warning, sounds of excitement soon dwindled as the children immediately settled down in order to listen. Amazing Skye at how the woman could easily control the children and encourage them to be on their best behavior.Skye meanwhile just as he was about to move paused the moment he heard a soothing voice greet his ears. Feeling it pull him into it's polarity thanks to how captivating the voice was. Curious, he eyed a nearby chair and took a sea
"How is she?""She is still the same as day you brought her here, Lancelot" the voice said while holding a cup of warm tea, helplessness could be heard in her voice as she sighed heavily. Leaning against the wall by the door the woman's eyes grew grave."If this keeps up, she might never recover" the woman added plainly."Is there nothing we can do?""Hope"Skye's face turned pale as he saw the woman's face more clearly the moment her hat moved up. Slightly pale skin containing semi gaunt features which were showing signs of recovery greeted his line of sight. What also added to her dismal appearance was her long wavy blond hair that reached to her lower waist. Despite being platted, her hair remained free on the bottom half as it rested by her legs. Her blue eyes revealed masked sadness but held a sense of patience and auth
"Make sure to wear this, otherwise you'll attract far too much attention" Lacey had instructed while handing Skye a bundle of clothes from the counter. A wry smile formed on her face as she observed his flushed face. Now donning on a large brown cloak over a worn white shirt and brown slacks, Skye's brown boots trudged against the ground, feeling a little bashful for the sudden change of clothes and from having to be her errand boy. Skye kept the parcels under the cloak in order to avoid them getting damaged. As he observed the town, Skye scratched his hair which had changed from red to pure black. Meanwhile his eyes had also turned into a deep shade of brown, reminding him of a dark oak tree. Not that he minded, it was a little off-putting seeing this new presence greet him in the mirror. Knowing that he could have gone out as himself, only this would risk more trouble brewing given how well known he was thanks
"An outcast who doesn't belong with either side, just an abomination created by lies and treachery" Skye noted before feeling her hand touch his left hand. Feeling her grip his hand, he noticed how it was very warm."Don't ever and I mean EVER say you would give up everything for anyone. That is the worst thing to ever do. You never know what things you would entail and the damage you could create. And also- never! Ever talk badly about yourself, especially in that demeaning manner" the woman said sharply, startling Skye enough to send shivers down his spine as he looked up to see her angry eyes boring into his.Confusion filled him, not knowing why she was even giving him such hope. Why was she being so nice to him? Did he even deserve such concern? He highly doubted it."You have more value than you can ever imagine, everyone does. Otherwise why are you even here? Why are you even alive? Never, eve
Musing with her cup in one hand, the woman observed Skye's haggard look."He looks like he's about to pass out at any given time" she mused while observing him a bit more before speaking."You should take time to push aside things that are trifling towards you" the woman noted while continuing to watch him. Just seeing the dark circles under the male's eyes left her wanting to purse her lips at how little he cared for himself. Reminding her of a few people she had encountered in her life."It's... very hard, especially when you are given no respite" Skye admitted taking her by surprise, her eyes blinked rapidly from how he admitted it without any reservation."Don't get me wrong, I have some people who worry but that's the last thing I want people to be... an invalid who could fall apart at any given time" Skye added tonelessly, nursing the cup with a faint look."So you
The air grew misty in the now grey area, appearing as if all the colour had been filtered out leaving a dull, dismal atmosphere.Faceless people filtered past each other as they acted like mindless puppets without any strings, moving aimlessly through the town, leaving Skye puzzled as he continued to sleep. Unable to make out who the people were or why the world had become the way it has now.How it became like this Skye didn't know, all he did remember however was passing out on the bed. So how...? Why did this scene greet him?Was it a warning of some kind?Very soon, a faint silhouette of a person with long hair walked past a few people in the distance suddenly caught Skye's attention. However he could not make out who the person was. All that caught his attention was the person's plain sleeve as they soon blended into the people before vanishing into thin air."Murderer..
Using his free hand, the young male pushed his curly black away from his face so he could take in the scene. His hair which was long enough to reach his lower back had been tied up with a few cotton brown strings, meanwhile allowed his semi-long fringe to sit on top of his shoulders. Allowing his black choker, which contained a blue teardrop to be seen in the center of it.His clothes however involved a worn brown shirt and lower knee-high trousers, on his right shoulder contained a large brown triangle-shaped leather strap in order to stop himself from being injured during work. His black eyes narrowed before huffing to himself, not wanting to take in the scene any longer than he needed to. After all, he had more important things to do."Just in case..." the male muttered to himself as a thought came to mind, he briefly observed Skye from the corner of his eye just in case the steward was up to something. Not t
Skye while he tried to push the unwanted thoughts and images that continued to spiral around his head in a volatile manner, leaving one to wonder if they were inside a typhoon that continued to deprive him of staying sane."Why did you have to exist?" Pushing the shaky feeling inside, Skye immediately tugged Rowan's arm backwards startling Rowan enough to look back and take in Skye's weakened form."What's wrong?" Rowan asked as he now noticed that Skye's pale but vexed expression."You don't look so good love, do you need some air?" the woman asked, leaving Skye feeling some relief that someone could see he wanted to leave."I... I need to go" Skye replied firmly, startling Rowan once more."Why don't you just die already?! No one wants you here!""But we just got here" Rowan groaned only to see Skye narrow his eyes, now finally free of Row
