He Fulfilled The Promise

 Whistle (A message notification sound)

I wiped my tears and opened my cell phone. I opened the message. The cell phone fell from my hand to my bed. I just sat still for a few minutes until <Whistle> another message came. Both messages were from Tanie. The first one was my video. The second message was: Don't you dare speak a word to anyone. If you speak, I will send this to all students from our school. I will also post it on internet. This video will only be with me until you are a good girl. I will make you famous. Also, stay away from Tyler.

I could not cry now. I felt like my eyes were burning and all tears had already fallen down. I thought about that incident and sat on the floor near to bed. I put my head on bed and stared at my room's wallpaper for a long time. Suddenly I stood up. I opened my school bag, I threw things turning the bag upside down. I found the thing I was searching, a sharpener. I detached the blade. I was about to cut my wrist. Then, I heard my mom talking on phone in another room. She was loud, she seemed happy. She was laughing. Then, I came back to my senses. I thought what will happen to my parents if I leave them. Then again I just sat on the floor until I fell asleep.

 I woke up after hearing my phone ringing. It was the daily alarm. Other day I used to have confidence to go to school, even when I used to be a loner. But today, I opened my phone and messaged Alice that I will not be going to school. She replied, “Okay, take care.” Then I went to freshen up. Then, I said mom that my stomach was aching so I will not go school today while we were having breakfast. Then she told me if I had to go to the hospital. I denied and just said her that I will be okay after resting. She said that she will be out today. Then I went back to my room. I lied on the bed.

At school, Alice went a little late, but she reached exactly before the class started. Then, when she reached class, she stared at Tanie and went to sit in her place. After the first lecture, Saww asked, “Alice, why are you sitting alone?” Alice said, “Sarah is absent.” Mockingly Tanie laughed and said in a loud voice, “Yesterday she had a lot of workout at basketball court. I bet she could not wake up today maybe because her legs were hurting after so much of work out.” As a result, many of them burst out a laughter. Only Alice, Kyle and Saww did not laugh and Tyler was not in the class.

Saww did not laugh because Alice did not laugh and he knew they were talking about her best friend. Then, the day continued just like that and after class, after everyone left, Kyle stopped Alice. When the place was silent, he said, “I deleted the video yesterday. I checked everything on her phone, there was no backup. I even checked the messages. But…” Alice interrupted, “But what?” Kyle said, “Tanie had sent the video to Sarah and even threatened her, I deleted the video in that message on her phone.” Alice was sad when she heard that but she said, “Thank you, Kyle. I promise that in the future if you need help, I will help you.”

 Kyle said, “No problem. But what next now?” Alice replied, “I will go to Sarah's place and tell her and ask her what she wants to do.” Kyle said again, “Alice, I have a request.” Alice asked, “What?” Kyle said, “Can you please let this solve between us. You can punish Tanie and others, but I do not want teachers and my parents know about this. As you know that we have been staying with our relative and not parents, Tanie is my responsibility here. I do not want her to get expelled.” Alice said, “I will talk to Sarah about this. But it will be her decision. But I do not support this although you helped us.” Kyle nodded and they went their own ways. Alice then directly went to Sarah’s house. Sarah was lying on the bed the whole day until she heard the doorbell ring.

SARAH’S POINT OF VIEW

 No one was in home today. Everyone was busy. So, I washed my face first and wiped and went to open the door.  Alice hugged me after seeing me and I closed the door after we parted and we went to my room. She filled me with all the details that had happened in school. She also said about Kyle's request. Then, I was a little relieved. She asked me about what I will do to Tanie. Well I said her I did not know. She noticed that my face was not good. So she asked if I had eaten. I told her I ate breakfast. I also told that no one was in home today. She pulled me towards the kitchen. She knew that I did not know how to cook. So, she asked if she could use the kitchen. So, I sat on a chair watching her. She was skilled in cooking also. As it was my kitchen, she just made both of us noodles with eggs. Then, we sat and ate. That day, we did not talk much, she returned after making me eat and the day went as usual and I slept at night after dinner.
