Chapter 99

Frowning, Joshua sat in the car with a gloomy face as if burdened by worries. His already cold face, coupled with his darkened expression, made him even more unapproachable.

It was obvious that his mood was exceptionally poor after not finding Nancy two consecutive times.

Ben drove the car on tenterhooks, afraid to inadvertently provoke Joshua with any action.

A sudden ringing of a phone broke the silence in the car, sounding jarringly out of place.

Hearing the phone ring in such a somber atmosphere, Ben couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine. He silently mourned for the unfortunate caller.

Joshua answered the phone.

"Josh, where are you? I haven't seen you for days," Natalie said in a sweet voice.

Ben instantly felt at ease when he heard Natalie's voice on the other end of the line. There wouldn't be a problem, then.

He had never seen Joshua lose his temper with Natalie. Perhaps she could improve Joshua's mood, sparing him from Joshua's wrath.
