Charles looked at Jim's security team and motioned them over.

"Could you guys do Mr. Quinton a favour? Take this fat useless trash and throw him out of the building." Charles requested.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Peter Quinton stood up from his chair and walked towards Charles, patting Charles's shoulder.

"That's who I'm looking for to be my successor. I can safely assume... you've made your decision, yes?" Peter asked Charles.

Charles took a breath to calm his nerves. Then he turned his attention to Peter.

"Mr. Quinton, I have made my decision. I accept your offer to be your successor. To be the Don of Townsville." declared Charles. Derek and Charles then embraced tightly. Derek could not be happier to hear Charles's decision to be the new Don of Townsville.

"Good. I'm glad to hear it. I can understand if it's a lot for you to take in one day. So you'll start tomorrow. By the way, how did you feel as you were whooping that fat b*****d's ass?"

"To be honest, he was already getting on my nerves with his f****** arrogant attitude. The fact that he's the same a****** who fired brother Derek just made me more p****d off."

"So to take out all my anger on the right person for once... yeah, it felt good." replied Charles.

Derek chimed in, "There are perks of being in the mafia. You'll find out soon enough. For now, you need a place to rest for the night. Dad, do you mind if I bring Charles to his new house?"

"Not at all, son; but before you go, Charles, I'll set one rule for you right off the bat. As the new Don of Townsville, you will answer to my son and to me. If you wish to undertake any tasks of your own, run them by us and we will help you anyway we can. Is that clear?" Peter instructed Charles.

"Crystal clear, Mr. Quinton. I am more than grateful for this second chance." Charles replied humbly and bowed to Peter.

Charles, Derek and Hector said their goodbyes to Peter and exited the casino into the Rolls Royce. About thirty minutes later, headed to what looked like a secluded place of residence, deep within a forest in Townsville.

From the outside when Derek, Hector and Charles stepped out of the Rolls Royce, it looked like a vacation cabin for one, at most two people. The cabin was situated at the top of a small hill, with a pathway heading downwards to the main road.

"Wow. A cabin in the woods. That's a fitting place for me to lay low, even if I am a Don." said Charles.

"Bro, looks can be deceiving." replied Derek. "Here, take this key. Press the blue button."

Charles took the key and pressed the blue button as instructed. In the next instant, a side of the hill opened up to reveal a state-of-the-art garage, a smaller version of the garage in the Quinton Mansion.

"After you, Charles." Derek ushered.

"Yes, boss." replied Charles cheekily as he walked into the garage. Hector joined them and the garage door soon closed.

"Wow, this is not a garage. This is more like a battledome." Charles was amazed by the facilities.

"Allow me to show you around, Mr. Smith." said Hector.

"Please, Hector. Call me Charles. I'm not worthy to be called even remotely the same as your young master." replied Charles.

"If you insist, Charles. Have a look at this garage. To your right, you can see we have two cars for you to drive. One is a black Ferrari F8 Tributo. The other is a blue electric Porsche Taycan with a charging port. You can use these two cars for your transport."

"After walking past the cars, we have a training area. Due to the design of the house, we could install a full size gym and a martial arts dojo in here." said Hector.

"To be the Don, not only do you have to be in top physical shape, you need to be able to defend yourself. Learning a few forms of martial arts won't hurt." said Peter.

"After what Desmond did to me that night, I'm gonna need to learn something." Charles replied embarrassingly.

"Press the green button below the blue one." said Hector.

Beep!

Another door opened upwards from the side of the gym. All three men walked through to see the living room.

"So, as you can see, Charles, as Young Master Quinton said, looks can be deceiving. This interior follows a sleek modern theme. Marble floors, high-end furniture, a state of the art kitchen in the back, an 80 inch flat screen TV; and even an electric fireplace at the corner." said Hector.

"I see a staircase that leads to the second floor. I suppose that's where my room is." said Charles.

"Yes, indeed. That was what you saw when we were outside the cabin." replied Hector. "We have some clothes in the closet for you. Of course, if you want to purchase any more items, you're going to need this."

Hector then passed Charles a black credit card. Charles looked at the card and was surprised.

"Don't be mistaken, Charles. The credit limit in this card is nowhere near my credit limit. Still, I think a twenty million transfer to your bank account and fifty million credit limit in this card would be enough to get you started." said Derek.

Fifty million credit? And twenty million cash in the bank?

Charles almost dropped the card in utter shock.

"Seventy million in total? I wasn't expecting a dime, let alone seventy million." said Charles.

"Here's the best part. This cabin is fifty miles from the Quinton Mansion. So if you need some advice from my dad, all you have to do is drop by." said Derek.

"Aren't you staying in there too?" asked Charles.

"Not anymore. Amanda and I moved to a billion dollar mansion that is near the Quinton Tower; but we do visit them over the weekends." replied Peter.

"Well, now I know when not to go over." said Charles.

"Why do you say that? Young Master no longer holds a grudge against you." asked Hector.

"Think about it, Hector. Mr. Quinton has been living a double life without Mrs. Quinton or anyone else knowing about it... except me, you, brother Derek and maybe Mr. Owen Beck."

"In fact, you heard brother Derek earlier said he too was sworn to secrecy. All this underground mafia thing is new to him too. Even brother Derek's wife does not know about Mr. Quinton's other life. How would she react if she knew?"

"Not to mention, I'm supposed to still be in prison. How would our friends and family react if they see me on the open public?"

"There's more at stake than just my ascension to the underground throne. Mr. Quinton's reputation, his family, my family.....I can't reveal my identity. Not yet anyway."

"I know it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens; but until then, I need as much time as possible to certify my position as the Don. Only then can I reveal myself to everyone else." concluded Charles.

"Speaking of which... brother Derek, while I was away, has any of Mr. Quinton's enemies from the past tried to target you?" Charles asked Derek.

"Well, so far, I have yet to encounter any of them; but that doesn't mean we let our guard down. I am concerned with my father managing the underground mafia because he is catching up with age." Derek replied.

"I understand. I'm honoured that I have been given this opportunity to take up the mantle of the Don of Townsville. I promise to do you and your father proud." Charles declared.

"I'm sure you will. Because I'm running the Consortium, you'll see more of my dad than you will of me. He will get you settled in. For now, have a good rest. He'll see you tomorrow morning in the casino." said Derek.

"Thank you. Goodnight, brother Derek. Goodnight, Hector." replied Charles.

Derek and Hector exited the cabin through the living room door, down the pathway, into the Rolls Royce and drove back to the Quinton Mansion.

Charles walked up to his room and took a shower in the built in ensuite bathroom. After a quick shower, he walked to the window, where he had a clear, forested view of the business district of Townsville.

'A new day is about to dawn. So will a new Charles Smith. The team under my watch will protect everyone related to the Quinton Consortium. Anyone who dares to challenge us will fall in anguishing defeat. The whole of Townsville will tremble in fear at the mere mention of the name 'Don of Townsville'. '

That was Charles final thought as he took a final deep breath and headed straight for bed.

Beep! Beep! Beep! The alarm was blaring all around Charles's room in his new cabin. Charles slowly opened his eyes, sat up and gave himself a good stretch. Sitting on his bed, he took a few moments to gather his thoughts, in particular, a reality that he accepted just the night before. As of the night before, the old Charles Smith is gone. This was day one of the new Charles Smith. The Don of Townsville. Accepting this new reality, Charles got up from bed and took a cold shower, waking up his senses in his body. After his shower, Charles headed to his wardrobe to see what clothes were available in it."Hmmmm...there's a good mix of clothes here." Charles said to himself. He wasn't wrong. There was a mix of casual wear, office wear and formal wear with shoes to match. "Gee, I wonder....should I go all out to make a first impression...or do I take a page out of brother Derek's playbook and go for something casual?"

Everyone looked at Charles and had smiles on their faces. The Phoenix Mafia. What a fitting name. Peter could not by any prouder of Charles. "I have definitely picked the right man to take over my underground business. The Phoenix Mafia has my blessings and best wishes. Charles, may you lead this team of firebirds to new heights, while staying hidden in the shadows." said Peter. "Thank you, Mr. Quinton. I will be speaking to the team for today. I like to ingratiate myself in a good way for my first day." replied Charles. "Good. I'll take my leave then. I have lunch with my wife at the Quinton Hotel." Peter bid farewell to the Phoenix Mafia before taking his leave. "Jim, take a seat. Everyone else, go about your work." said Charles. "Yes, boss." replied the Phoenix Mafia before exiting the VIP room, except for Jim. "Have a seat, Jim. We got quite a bit to talk about." said Charles. "How may I help you, boss?" aske

"Ok, boss! I've got their GPS locations." Ivy reported. "Let's see them. Put them up on the screen." replied Charles. Ivy then showed her findings on the projection screen to show everyone what she was seeing on her laptop. "From the looks of it boss, it seems that your friends are in three main locations: The Quinton Tower, the Quinton Hotel here in Townsville and another company office called QC Enterprise." "Our businesses are a safe distance from these three locations. So, I believe we can set off from here at your command." reported Ivy. "Good job, Ivy. Before we set off, you've heard me ask the rest of the team about their stories. I want to hear about yours." said Charles. "Yes, boss. As Mr. Quinton said earlier, I am probably the best computer expert money can buy. You could say I was a tech prodigy." "I come from a financially struggling family. My single mom raised me from the

After an eventful first day of work, the Phoenix Mafia decided to unwind at the Sparrow Lounge, one of the many nightclubs owned by Peter Quinton, and now to Charles. Charles arrived in his Ferrari, a sight that was seldom seen in that area of Townsville. Initially, Charles was concerned about the attention he would get for driving such a high end car to the lounge. So Charles decided to drop his car at the valet area, before briskly heading over to the main entrance, where the rest of the team was waiting for him. Having being introduced to the Phoenix Mafia during the day, the bouncer recognised them all and immediately let them in, despite there being a public queue outside the lounge. The difference between the interior of the lounge during the day and at night was obvious. The overall purple neon lighting enveloped the whole lounge. It accentuated the marble bar tops, giving the lounge a psychedelic experience. Customers were seated

"Boss, earlier Victoria said she likes to be in the thick of the action. Do you remember that?" asked Jim. "Yes, what about it?" asked Charles. "Well, here's a first look for you." replied Jim with a smile as he continued to observe Victoria with the rest of the gang. "Hi guys. Wow, aren't you two handsome." Victoria greeted the two men seductively. "Well, hello there. You look amazing too." One of the men greeted back, googling at Victoria's blouse, which was unbuttoned halfway to show her cleavage. "So, what are you two hotties doing here in the Sparrow Lounge?" Victoria asked as she put her whiskey glass down. "Well, originally we are here to discuss a business proposal....but from the looks of it, we might have an another proposal of our own... just for you." the second man replied, mesmerized by Victoria's figure. "Naughty, naughty. Eyes up here, boys." Victoria commanded seductively. As the two men looked up to make eye contact, Victoria discreetly switched Desmo

Splash! Keith poured ice cold water over the heads and faces of the two men. Everyone involved was already at the abandoned construction site. The two men were tied to a couple of chairs with rope, giving them no room to escape. "Rise and shine, you pervs!" Holly's voice raised. The two men slowly opened their eyes after being doused with cold water. Once they realized what was happening to them, they started to fidget around, hoping the grip that the ropes have on them will loosen. "Don't bother struggling. These ropes will not be loosened so easily. You'll get rope burn or worse." said Keith. "Plus, even if you manage to get the ropes loosened, you have to face the six of us. You think you can escape this room so easily?" said Henry. "Who the hell are you people?!? Release us now!!" said the first man. Victoria entered the room and stood in front of the two men. "Hey guy

It's been a busy first day for Charles. There was nothing he wanted more than to head back to his cabin and get a good night's sleep on his comfortable king size bed. Driving his Ferrari back to his cabin, Charles pressed the blue button on his key and his garage door opened. Charles then parked his Ferrari on its designated spot and stepped out, heading straight to the living room. Upon entering, he noticed the living room and kitchen lights were still on. 'Oh, might as well. I'll get something to drink before heading to bed.' Charles thought to himself as he proceeded to the kitchen. As he was heading to the kitchen, Charles noticed a woman searching for something in the refrigerator. She was dressed in a sexy beige lacy nightgown that wrapped snuggly around her sexy curvy figure, her long hair in a beautiful wave. She was bent over with her back facing Charles as she was arranging some items at the lower shelf of the refrigera

I think you may have stumbled on something." said Charles with a smile on his face. "The Phoenix Cabin. Nice name. I think that's what I'll call this place from now on." "You look exhausted, boss. The cameras were flashing as journalists and reporters gathered at the eagerly anticipated launch of the new mall in Townsville, specifically located near the Townsville Hillside Condo. Standing in front of the main entrance, Desmond and Jocelyn faced the crowd. Desmond then took the mic to address the crowd, "After months of construction, through reported ups and downs, we are happy to announce, on behalf of the Quinton Consortium, the officially opening of Townsville Hillside Mall." said Desmond. He then took his side next to Jocelyn and proceeded to perform the cutting of the ribbon, signalling that the Townsville Hillside Mall was officially opened. Applause rang all around the front as Desmond and Jocelyn opened the front entrance doors, welcoming the crowd into the mall. In another corner of Townsville, Wayne and Kimberly were also dressed sharply; but for a different reason. "Brother Derek, are you sure about this?" asked Charles as he looked at himself in the mirror. He was wearing a tuxedo; but not any ordinary tuxedo. Derek had Charles wear his diamond encrusted tuxedo, the most expensive tuxedo he bought from Nick Lopez when he first found out he was a Quinton. "I'm sure about it, Charles. I know I bought it for me initially; but in all honesty, you wearing this tux means so much more." Derek reassured Charles. "Man, I'm nervous. Brother, how did you even go through your wedding with Ms. Amanda?" asked Charles exasperately. "Desmond told me to take a deep breath to calm my nerves. It could work for you, too." replied Derek. Charles decided to take Derek's advice and took two deep breaths. Surprisingly, he felt much calmer. Then he and Derek heard a knock on the door. In walked Mason, "Brother, are you ready?" asked Mason. "As ready as I'll ever be." replied Charles. All three of them then walked upstairs... to the top deck of Charles's superyach

The prison gate key entered the lock. With a click, the warden opened the cell gate, with mixed emotions. "Madam Louise... it's time." In her cell, Madam Louise looked around the jail cell she had been living in, serving her time for her past wrongs. She thought about the time she spent in the cell, forming a close friendship with the warden, being released early to help Team Quinton and the Phoenix Mafia, eventually being a key player in the fight against Pamela. It was a sad day to leave her family after the fight ended; but heading back to prison was necessary. Thanks to Lea Quinton, however, she did not have to stay in prison any longer. She received a pardon from the Mayor of Townsville; and now, she can leave the Townsville prison freely. She slowly stood up and walked towards the cell door, where she noticed her warden friend had a tear in his eye. Smiling slightly, she wiped the tear away from his eye. "No need to weep for me, young man. We will meet again, outside of t

With the mask worn on his face; and the briefcase full of cash repacked into a duffel bag found in the control room, Charles slung the bag over his shoulder, ready to move out of Pamela's HQ. Before heading out, Charles made sure to surround himself in a nanoshield sphere to avoid any sudden sneak attacks. After which, Charles used his upgraded suit to do a thorough scan, looking to devise an alternate way out of Pamela's HQ. 'Hmmm... it looks like I'm going to have to blast my way out of here. Time to check out what weapons are at my disposal.' Charles thought to himself. Scanning the system in his suit through his mask, Charles was surprised to find various forms of weaponry to pave his way out. "Well then, let's get started." Charles said to himself. However, as we was about to step out of Pamela's control room, an alarm sounded inside of the control room. Red emergency lights were flickering in the control room. Charles turned his direction to one of the screens in the control

"Gerard! Andrea! You certainly have some guts showing your faces here after you betrayed me!" Pamela sneered at the couple. "Lady Boss... wait! We did not betray you." Gerard defended himself. "That's right, Lady Boss! The hostages... they escaped!!" shouted Andrea. "WHAT?!?!?" Pamela shouted angrily. She then turned her attention to Charles, who was standing there, perplexed. "Charles!! You were at the dungeon earlier. You said you saw your team in their cells. Is that true?!?" Pamela asked authoritatively. "Absolutely, Lady Boss. I personally locked up the dungeon after making sure that loser Derek was in his cell." replied Charles. "He's lying, Lady Boss. Charles must still be working with his friends. Somehow, they managed to get their suits from the lab and escape from this place." Gerard said accusingly, pointing at Charles at the same time. "Hold on there, Gerard. Up until just now, when Lady Boss showed me her lab, I did not even know that existed." Charles defended hims

"You tell me, Charles. How did you and that loser escape in the first place?" Pamela asked suspiciously. Charles was calm in his answer, "Well, I found a couple of metal pins in my cell and I used it to pick my cell lock." Charles began. "Once I got free, that's where I hatched my plan. I picked the lock of Derek's cell. I had to convince him that he and I were on the same team in taking you out. So, while the rest were in their cells, which, by the way, they still are, Derek and I made our way out of the dungeon." explained Charles. "Well, you certainly have some talent, unlike that loser. Still, Gerard and Andrea not reporting back is concerning for me." replied Pamela. As she looked at the monitors of the control room, she noticed something peculiar, then she started frowning. "What's wrong, Lady Boss?" asked Charles. "Take a look at that." said Pamela, pointing Charles's attention to one of the monitors surveying the lab. "What about it, Lady Boss?" asked Charles curiously. "C

Before Charles could answer, they heard footsteps approaching the dungeon. Derek passed Gerard's dungeon keys to Charles before he cloaked himself again. In order to play along with Pamela's ploy, Charles quickly opened the dungeon door, placed Victoria gently inside before locking the door again. The footsteps grew audibly closer towards the dungeon door. Charles turned his attention towards the sound of those footsteps and walked in that direction, taking caution to who he might run into. As he turned around the corner, he found out who those footsteps belong to. "Oh my gosh, Esther. What are you doing here?" Charles exclaimed softly as he embraced his girlfriend. "Wait, you shouldn't be here. Didn't Mr. Quinton give you and the rest the order to head to the safehouse?" asked Charles. "I had to come here. Seconds later, everyone, including the people in the Phoenix Bunker, the safehouse and the combined invasion and rescue team saw the live feed on their screens. "Your eyes do not deceive you, Peter. Charles has betrayed you. He has decided to join a real mafia and I will nurture him properly, so he can be a real Don." began Pamela. "As you can see, I have your son as hostage.
