Phil froze as the old man's embrace grew tighter.

                                "Set... Me... Free... Phil..."

The old man grew thick black tentacles in his back, his face melted in a black puddle revealing dark holes as numerous as honeycombs on his head. Moments later black caterpillars crawl out of the holes on the old man's face.

The caterpillars were abominations as well, their bodies are filled with black hairs, and their heads were that of Phil when he was young crying to his grandpa while others were smiling. The caterpillars simult

Phil slowly picked up the papers hidden in the compartment of the back cover, he tried to read it but noticed that it was not written in the Roman alphabet. Phil tried to make sense of what was written in the paper since most of them had illustrations of some kind of being. Phil looked at the page that he deemed the oldest since it was made of some unknown leather. A colossal monster was chained and buried deep somewhere was one of the drawings that Phil saw, the next page was a moon overlooking the colossal monster acting as a guard and lastly was an altar. Phil thought that the content of these pages might have the answer to why he is always having a nightmare, but the problem was that he could not

Phil woke up a little tired due to the previous night's excursion, he still could not believe he had survived and he still had no idea who saved him. Phil washed his face and looked at himself in the mirror; his eyes were a little hollow as he remembered how easy he gave up last night. He looked down and avoided the mirror, not wanting to see his pathetic self for the time being. In the kitchen, Phil prepared his breakfast for the day. A bowl of cereal and a glass of juice, he ate quite simply because he was not in the mood to cook. Sitting on the couch after he ate Phil was mulling on who saved him in th

The sun was almost setting when Phil arrived back at school, he proceeded to head towards Seth's office hoping for him to be still there, and to his relief the light in Seth's office was still on. The black ebony-colored door ornate with carvings of ravens in different postures was revealed to Phil as the bookcase opened due to him pushing the button under the table. Inspecting the door, Phil noticed that it had no handles and a large bust of a raven with its beak open was the central piece of the door. Phil stared at the raven and noticed its eyes were blood-red crimson rubies. Phil tried to push the door but it did not budge even a bit, he tried taping and listening and observed that the door was metallic but at the same time wooden in nature, and the deep bass feedback helped Phil deduce that the door was heavy and at least an inch thick.&nbs

The tentacles were getting closer as Phil was paralyzed on the ground. Phil tried to crawl away but a tentacle, unfortunately, grabbed hold of his right ankle. The tentacle proceeded to hang Phil up to the air. Phil felt his blood pool on his head as he was hung upside down. The other tentacles proceeded to bind Phil tightly. "Look for another cave boy. I do not trust that cave anymore, the prisoner might have planted a trap for you inside the black goo." Phil nodded upon hearing what Ferox has to offer. He swam inside the walls of the prison and decided to head towards the opposite side from where the past cave was located. It took Phil almost all of his current energy to arrive in a habitable cavern. Before he entered he stared at the prisoner that was lying with its head down inside the black goo, bubbles of air could be seen popping up near its mouth located in its belly. Phil could not believe how a crazed being could be cu

After overcoming his dejection, Phil attentively listens to Ferox's explanation of how to properly control his violent urges. "Okay boy, first things first. Do not be overwhelmed by your cruel urges. No matter what the voices inside your head whisper, do not do it. Even if the sigil is not activated, the urge to do violent things is magnified because of its presence. One more thing, this does not apply just to those that are around you, but to you as well, your body to be specific. For example, if you are in a situation where you want to scratch yourself because of a minor inconvenience and the sigil activates, you might end up with heavy injuries due to not being able to control yourself and scratch yo

Still, the headline was about a serial mass murdered on the loose, the newest victim was a boy found dead inside a bathroom in a convenience store. I flipped the page as I grew tired of waiting. I looked to my left and right and saw both my parents and Eric, sitting perfectly still on their seats. Thankfully my parents were not trying to dirty the floor anymore, must have used up al

The sky was crimson on an eternal afternoon, the sun was halfway set beyond the horizon. A red haze filled the air as the smell of blood filled my nostrils. The caw of legions of crows is the only sound that could be heard. Dry bones of various creatures lay strewn all over the floor as the crow themselves help pick whatever flesh remains on them. The sound of cracking was audible as I walked towards a spire of blood and gore, watched by the crows with their dark black eyes. Countless lifeless bodies piled up in large numbers slowly decaying, from the most recent kill at the top to the dry bones at the bottom. A figure sat on a throne of bone, adorned only with the beings that were adequate to enterta

I woke and saw that my energy bar was almost full. I stared at the ceiling of the cave, thinking how far I will go in the next attempt and how long would I be trapped inside this prison. I wondered if ever I will be successful in leaving this place or be like Eric’s mother, forever trapped inside the abyss of dreams. Although I have been trapped here for almost a day now, the lack of sunlight or any light for that matter makes you confused of what time of day it was now. The only source of luminous light I could see was Eclaireuse’s barrier. Although I was given the power to see in the darkness which I only noticed after being trapped inside this dark abyss and since I could not freely use my power in the real world, for that I was thankful or I would be utterly blind navigating inside this prison with a dangerous guard just outside the confines of the cave.&

The multiple eyes on the giant abomination started to open and move erratically. The prisoner tried to defy the force that was making it kneel down, the mouth that was located near its abdomen started to take in air, large amounts of goo started to seep out of its body. En shouted inside my head to take shelter and cover my ears. The prisoner with all its might yanked the chains that bind it and screamed on the top of its lungs. Its deep below shook the surroundings, my ears started to bleed while my head started to fill up with malicious thoughts. En tried with all his best to keep me sane while Eclaireuse although a little exhausted used her remaining soul force to create a barrier.&nb
