Christopher was not expecting me to come off as rude or cold as I did and I can tell by the look on his face he was quick to masks which changed his whole demeanor.
After a few moments of standing on the busy sidewalk not saying a word to each other only a few blocks from the always loud and crowded Pioneer Squire I clear my throat and ask "How about we grab some lunch and start over" It’s the least I can do after being so rude to him when I should of just been mature about the whole name situation."Um sure why” Chris shrugs his shoulder then start to walk off in the opposite direction “But I pick the place" he send me a playful smile showing off his perfect white teeth and two dimples."Sure I can live with that" nudging his shoulder a bit with my own once I catch up to his wide strides we start the walk making small conversation as we go.We come to a stop outside of a restaurant I've passed a few times but never tried. Standing on the sidewalk looking in I’m not sure if now is the right time to be bold and try something new.I remind myself that I did tell him I could live with what ever he wanted so I'm going to have to just suck it up and try something new.Chris grabs my hand wrapping his figures with my own feeling me with nerves, warmth and butterflies.Still holding my head tight in his own he walks us into the small but cute restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and plenty of places to sit.Finding a place to sit in a downtown restaurant is something because its almost impossible to find, there always packed or have lines that go around the block if its a place worthy of eating at or you have take your food to go and find a bench to sit and eat your food at.I find a small table for two in the corner looking out onto the hustle and bustle of the busy street while Chris orders our food, again I let him choose since I've never been here.A short five minute wait later Chris comes over with our food and I'm instantly hit by the delicious smell of cuscus, fresh veggies with some kind of noodle and blue cheese. The food that he set in front of me looks and smells amazing and I have to say he has good taste in food.Time gets away from us as we sit and eat, joking and laughing over a game he used to play with his sister as they were growing up. The object of the game was to pick a random person of the street and make then talk in some funny voice or make up a story about the person, boy was it fun I had never laughed so hard or had this much fun with one person in a very long time.As we talked I found out that he was the oldest of four and that his little sisters name was Veronica she had been missing for a little over three years now and just up and vanished one night as she was walking home from a friends house.Chris has been out looking for her for the last three years with out very much help from the police, he said that every time he asked about the case or asks to speck with the Detective who’s working it he gets the run around and is told that the detectives not available.I feel so bad that he is going through this alone due to his other two sisters not wanting to help look for her according to Chris his other two sisters moved away a few weeks after Veronica went missing and he hasn't heard from then since.I remember when it was Tommy who I thought had gone missing and all the crap the police asked me. It was hard to go through so I can understand where he’s coming from and what he’s going through in some small way.“Shit I'm so sorry I have to get back to the office” Chris apologizes after his phone vibrates on the table.“Yeah no its fine I'm sure Sofia is ready to loose her mind because I'm not back yet she is one girl who is dangerous when it comes to food” I stand grabbing my bag and check to make sure I have everything then we walk out of the restaurant.Chris being the gentleman he is walked me back to work and promised to text me later to set up a time for dinner, to say I was smitten and falling for his charm was the complete truth.Chris had this air about him that made anyone he talked to feel at ease and I felt myself luck to have meet him even if it had only been our second encounter.“What the hell took you so long I’m starving” Sofia harps as soon as I walk back into the shop.“Sorry time slip passed me” with a small shrug and a smile plastered on my face I get back to work. For the rest of the week after we had lunch I busied myself with work and enrolling into community college to maybe start pre law classes in the spring. Another week passed with out a word from Chris as he had promised and I was done watching my phone waiting and hoping that the handsome, kind and funny man I had meet would call and set up a date like we had planed to. “Come on Sash please for me” Sofia has been asking me to go with her to this new club but it’s not really my kind of thing so I really don’t want to go. “Please, please, pretty pretty please just one night it will be fun” “Fine okay will you get back to work now” I laugh pushing Sofia away from the register and point to the shelf she had been dusting when she first asked me. Closing up the Shop for the night me and Sofia walk to the max and go our separate ways agreeing to meet up in two hours at my house since its closer to downtown. Walking through the front door I see a bouquet of beautiful red roses on the kitc
As I'm waiting for my Uber I hear a throat being cleared behind me, looking over my shoulder I see it's Christopher. "What do you want Chris just leave me alone" I roll my eyes looking back at the street taking a step closer to the curb sending him a hint to just leave and to get a better look down the street since its a one way and busy at this time of night."Sasha fuck I'm sorry okay” I hear him sigh behind me “I've had a few drinks and just fuck I'm sorry I didn't mean to act like a prick" I want to believe him because I've seen many sides of him in the two short encounters we've had and I know he’s right he has had a few drinks and I can hear it in his voice."Apology accepted now just leave me alone" I softly say loosing all my confidence while rubbing my arm were he had grabbed me. Chris’s eyes follow my movements and he takes a step closer with an out stretched hand as if he wanted to touch my arm but he drops his hand and puts them in his front pants pockets looking down at t
Chris P.O.VParking my truck a block away from the Downtown police station I put a dolor into the meter then walk tell I've reached the main entrance. Taking a deep breath already knowing how it’s going to go I walk up the front steps and through the steel and glass doors. This has been my routine for the last three and a half years after my little sister V went missing and the Detective stoped answering my calls.I’ve come down here once a week for the last three and a half years and not once have I been able to speck with the so called Detective that’s supposable been working the case, every time I come here I'm told that he’s not available or he’s not in or some bullshit excuse about he’s busy.“Fucking pigs I swear. What the fuck do these assholes do all day and night jerk off” I come out muttering and cursing the fat fuck I've come to know as officer Knott.Walking down the steps I see a small girl sitting on one of the benches. I take a seat next to her getting a look at her cute
Chris P.O.VIt’s been a week since I went to see if I could get any information or talk to the detective that’s on my sisters case and I asked my best friend Tony to come with me on our lunch break to see if I could finally get to speck with someone about V.“Dude it’s been years why do you always do this to yourself” Tony has come with me a few times and says I should just hirer a privet detective and at this point and after so many years I think he has a point but the problem with doing what he says is that a privet detect can do shit off the books and go digging in places the guys in blue can’t.“We go through this every time you come with me Tony” he sighs and holds his hands up in surrender and walks up the front steps with me to the large entrance door.“I’m here to see detective Harris” I coldly tell the lady that’s sitting at the information desk.“Is he expecting you” comes the lady’s question in a bored tone.“No” I answer back with just as much boredom in my tone as hers.“N
Chris P.O.VPortland has always been known for its small markets and shops and there's this one small oddities shop I've passed by a few times as I'm going to and from work I figured id check it out. I asked one of my work friends if he wanted to come with me since I’ve heard him talk about the place before and he said yes. Kevin and myself walk the two blocks from the office to the small shop, opening the door as an older man exiting the shop I walk in after he has passed with Kevin right behind me.I'm greeted by a soft voice “Welcome in feel free to ask if you need help” I remember that soft voice from last week looking to the register pale blue eyes meet my green ones and a wave of anxiousness washed over me as she rushed to grab her things and leave as quickly as she could. Not wanting her to think I totally forgot about her even though I kind of did with everything that’s been going on lately plus with the new development my ex girlfriend seemed to of given the Detective I have
Chris POVIt's Friday evening when I get a call from Andrew inviting me out with him and a few other. After another week of not following through with calling that Sasha girl back I felt bad and asked her friend Sofia from work for her address and I sent her a dozen roses and a small car that said sorry on it, if she’s not some slut then she should no the there from me but I've only meet with her twice and on once of those times she was beaten sitting outside of the police station, so I can’t say for sure if she’s not the type of girl to just open her legs for any dude that looks her way.I'm at the bar talking to my friend's when I just happen to look over and who do I see standing there Sasha and she’s looking right at me. What the fuck is this bitch doing here? I excuse myself from my friend and go over to her, leaning down a little bit tell were almost face to face I give her a hard stare.Sasha try’s to joke and get me to calm down but it only pisses me off more and become very ag
Chris P.O.VThe next morning as fucking promised I called Sasha only to get her voicemail. I've been texting her and calling her all weekend and she hasn’t answered and it’s pissing me the fuck off. I kissed more ass in one fucking night then I had in the whole fucking six years I was with that cunt Raquel. It's now Monday and I know she works at the shop today so I get ready for work and leave earlier to try and catch her before I have to be in the office.I've been waiting outside Fred's Place for half and hour and she still hasn't shown up so I enter and am greeted buy her friend. "Hi welcome to Fred's Place if you need anything or have any questions please feel free to ask""Yeah hey I'm looking for Sasha is she here" looking around the small shop I don’t see her and the door to the back storage area is open and empty."No she called in sick" she looks up from the book in front of her seeing it’s me “Oh hey um Chris right” she asks pointing at me."Yeah, uh can you just tell her I
Sasha POVI've been avoiding Chris all weekend after what happened in the club. I was more then shocked when I woke up this morning to see the ha had called and text me five times. This time being true to his word but in a relentless way making me turn my phone off after the twentieth call not wanting to be bothered by him right now.I called out from work not feeling so good thanks to our good friend Mother Nature, telling Sofia only that I was sick and wouldn't be in tell WednesdaySofia called ma while she was closing the shop because she felt alone and the new dolls we got in creep her out.She told me that Chris had stopped by the shop asking for me and that she told him I was sick and had called out. She said he told her to tell me to call him but I don't think I want to after the way he treated me even if he was a little bit tipsy and apologize.I'm not going to say that his nice soft way of making sure I was okay wasn't sweet because it was it's just he shouldn't of acted like
