Luxiana Sommeris

A wave of nervous energy coursed through me, making my hands tremble at my sides. I wasn’t sure if using my power here was a good idea, but I had no intention of causing trouble—at least, not yet.

Taking a deep breath, I stepped forward. “Please, I don’t wish to speak with anyone else but your queen. We have urgent matters to discuss.” My voice was steady, but my heart pounded in my chest as I turned my gaze to Lilith.

She was watching everything unfold, her expression unreadable, yet there was a sharpness in her eyes that made me uneasy.

From the way she sat, completely unbothered, it was clear—she didn’t care. Not about us. Not about her people. Not about anything that wasn’t of use to her.

And yet, something about our presence seemed to amuse her. The way her lips curled ever so slightly, the flicker of something playful in her stare—it was as if she were waiting for some sort of entertainment at our expense. It was enough to make my blood boil.

It wasn’t the right moment—not now, not like this—but somehow, he managed to affect me that way.I kept my eyes locked on him, willing him to fight, to resist. And I knew he was trying. But Lilith’s hold on him was relentless, weaving through his mind like invisible chains, forcing him to look away from me.Desperation clawed at my chest. I reached for him, cupping his face between my hands, determined to make him see me, to remind him of who he was. But the moment my skin touched his, he let out a sharp hiss, recoiling as if burned.“Get away from me, human,” Damien spat through gritted teeth, his voice laced with venom. His eyes—once filled with warmth, mischief, and something that felt like love—now burned with fury and something far worse: disgust.I felt my breath hitch. My lips trembled as I whispered, “D-Damien…” My voice nearly broke. “Please, don’t listen to her. Whatever your queen is trying to make you do, don’t—”“An

Luxiana SommerisI clenched my fists so tightly that my nails bit into my palms, sharp enough to leave crescent-shaped marks on my skin. I couldn’t allow this. I wouldn’t. He had already taken too much from me—I would not let him take anything else. I would fight. No matter what it cost me, no matter how much pain I had to endure, I would fight until there was nothing left of him but a memory lost to the wind. And then, through the haze of exhaustion and the suffocating weight of everything closing in on me, I heard it.A voice. Soft yet steady, familiar in a way that made my chest tighten and my heart ache. A voice I would recognize anywhere, no matter how shattered the world around me had become.“Xiana…” The sound of my name, spoken in that tone, reached me like a lifeline. Even through the chaos, even through the darkness, it was enough. Enough to remind me that I was still here. Still breathing. Still standing.“Fuck, Xiana, are you okay?” I heard Damien's voice again, sharper

My gaze darted between him and myself before I lifted a trembling hand, pointing at both of us. “Are we also… dating in this—this realm?”He gave me a long, unreadable look before sighing as if I were being plodding today. He gave me a strange look, “Uh… as far as I remember, yes?” He reached into his pocket, pulled out his phone, and swiped at the screen. Then, with an almost lazy flick of his wrist, he turned it toward me.My breath hitched. There, on his phone, was a picture of Damien and me. Together. In the same bed.I stood there, unmoving, as a cold sensation slithered through my veins. My stomach twisted violently, nausea rising as my mind fought to process what I was seeing.No. No, this wasn’t real. This couldn’t be real. I took a shaky step back, pulse roaring in my ears, drowning out everything else. The café, the street outside, the distant hum of l

Because in that dream, you were my boyfriend, and we were having the time of our lives. Grandma was there too.”His expression shifted, a flicker of understanding passing through his eyes. “That must have been difficult for you,” he murmured, his voice gentle yet firm. “But believe me, it was only a dream—a false awakening. Those happen for many reasons, but they’re usually caused by stress.”Hearing his explanation made it easier to breathe, but a heavy sigh still escaped my lips. I gave a small nod, my voice barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry… I-I’ve just been through a lot. Am I overreacting to everything?”Damien shook his head without hesitation. “No, you’re reacting exactly how anyone would. Stop overthinking it, alright?”I ex

Luxiana SommerisI went home carrying the picture book that the strange boy had left on my desk. It was about angels and demons. His words lingered in my mind, clinging to me like a shadow I couldn’t escape. Something was unsettling about them, sending a quiet shiver down my spine. When I arrived home, I prepared my dinner before taking a bath. The book never left my side. I carried it to my bedroom, curiosity tugging at me, urging me to see what lay within its pages. My eyes landed on the cover. It looked ordinary—aged, perhaps a little worn, but nothing unusual. I flipped through the pages, skimming over illustrations of angels and demons, their worlds coexisting in an unnatural harmony. At first, everything seemed straightforward. The book explains their differences, their roles, and their nature. But then, my fingers stilled on a particular page—one that made my heart skip a beat.An angel and a demon had fallen in love. But their love was forbidden. They were being torn apart, t

Luxiana SommerisI swallowed, glancing back up at the treehouses with a newfound sense of understanding. It made sense now—why this place felt so eerily silent, why the air around it carried an almost heavy stillness. The higher the houses sat, the more isolated they became, removed from everything below. If someone wanted to disappear from the world, this was the perfect place to do it.“I see,” I murmured. “Now it makes sense why I was brought here.”Damien gave a slow nod before stopping, tilting his head back to look up toward the highest treehouse. “He’s up there,” he said, jerking his chin toward it. “Let’s go.”I turned to him, blinking in slight confusion. “Wait—are we using our powers to go up there?”Damien’s lips curled into an almost mischievous smile. “We can, but this time no,” he said simply. “We’re flying.”Before I could ask what he meant, I heard the faintest rustle of air. Then, right before my eyes, a pair of magnificent wings unfurled from his back, stretching wi

His expression remained grim as he took a step closer. “Yes, they are.” Without warning, he grabbed Ray’s shoulder and spun him around, his fingers digging into his skin. That’s when I saw it, the mark. Dark, swirling like smoke trapped beneath his skin, pulsing with an eerie glow on his bare back. It stood out starkly against Ray’s skin, it was a sinister mark. Ever since we had pulled him back from the depths of his troubled mind, he had been like this, trapped in the lingering grip of those cursed walkers. We had been fighting relentlessly, doing everything in our power to cut down the Dream Walkers before even one of them could escape and report back to Morpheus. But more than that, we needed to stop them from draining Ray’s soul before it was too late.“Can you purify him now?” Damien demanded, summoning a roaring flame in his palm. The heat licked at the air between us, casting flickering shadows over his sharp features.I gave him a firm nod. “I can...watch over me—I’ll hold onto Ray this time while I purify him.”Without hesitation, Damien moved closer, ensuring I was fully within reach befor

Luxiana SommerisThe first light of morning filtered through the seams of the canvas tent, casting a soft golden glow that kissed the curves of our tangled bodies. I stirred first, my eyes fluttering open to the quiet rustling of leaves outside and the low hum of a world slowly waking up. The fire had long since died out, leaving behind the faint scent of smoke and warm skin from shared heat.I shifted slightly, muscles sore in the most satisfying way, and felt Damien’s arms instinctively tighten around me. He was still asleep, lashes resting gently on his cheeks. His hold was protective, possessive in a way that didn’t suffocate—but comforted, like a promise unspoken.I smiled faintly, running my fingers lightly down his back, tracing the fine lines of old scars and new warmth. His skin was hot beneath my touch, his heartbeat steady beneath my palm, grounding me in a reality that still felt like a dream.“You’re awake,” he murmured, voice rough with sleep, eyes still half-closed bu

Luxiana Sommeris“We’ll camp here for the night,” Damien announced after finding a dark cave nestled between two jagged cliffs, its mouth yawning like an endless void. Shadows curled inward, and the further I looked, the more it seemed to stretch forever, as if it led to another world entirely.I glanced around, half-expecting a bear to lumber out from the darkness. The sky beyond the cave was painted in soft shades of pink salmon, slowly fading into lavender as dusk settled. Tiny stars began to blink into view, scattered like diamonds across a deepening canvas.“You can use your power to make a fire,” Damien said, his voice steady as he turned toward the cave’s entrance. “I’ll go gather some firewood.”“No need,” I replied, lifting my hand. “I can summon both the fire and the wood right here. Just stay with me.” I snapped my fingers, and just like that, a gentle flame flickered to life, dancing warmly in the growing chill of evening. He was always right—it really was easier when I

Luxiana SommerisThe moment our eyes fluttered open, reality returned in a soft, quiet rush. The dreamscape faded into the background like mist at dawn, leaving only the stillness of the waking realm. I blinked slowly, grounding myself in my room's familiar surroundings—dimly lit, the air cool and still, and humming faintly with energy. The protective sigils embedded in the walls shimmered for a brief second, reacting to our presence before settling once more into silence.“I’m really back in the waking realm,” Damien muttered under his breath, taking a cautious step forward. His eyes roamed over every corner of the room, calculating and observant. “Whoa… This place has a very distinct kind of barrier. It's not just protective—it's layered. Personalized. Was this your doing?”I nodded, unable to stop the smile tugging at my lips. There was something oddly satisfying in hearing him notice the effort I had put into securing my space. “Yes, I set it up myself,” I replied, my tone lig

The others lunged forward, clawing at the space between us with silent screams, their mouths gaping in distorted fury.I barely dodged in time—one claw scraped across my shoulder, a sudden, searing sting that made the vision in my right eye blur and flicker. But I didn’t hesitate. I countered with another incantation, this one more intricate and delicate, like tracing a sigil into the very air with trembling fingers and unshaken will. The second Walker halted, frozen mid-motion, trapped in a loop of its own making. It began to unravel from within, consumed by the very nightmare it had once fed upon. Its form collapsed inward, swallowed by an echo of its creation. But the last one came faster and smarter. It didn’t strike with claws or fangs. Instead, it reached for my mind, dragging me into a conjured illusion so vivid it felt like reali

Watching both of you.” She paused then, as if weighing her next words with great care. When she spoke again, each syllable dropped like a stone. “Someday, you two will have to part. Do you think you’ll be able to accept that?”We... have to?The question lodged in my chest like a thorn, buried deep and aching, unmoving. I parted my lips, trying to form words, trying to respond, but nothing came out. My voice had abandoned me.I couldn’t say

It whispered secrets I wasn’t ready to hear, murmuring truths only the night could carry. The remnants of my dream clung to me like a second skin—cold, damp, and far too real. No warmth in the waking world could chase away the chill it left behind. Damien stood quietly at the edge of the room, his broad shoulders tense, his jaw tight. He didn’t have to say anything for me to know he felt it too—that strange pull in the atmosphere, the subtle shift that warned of danger ahead.“You’re sure about this?” he asked again, his voice a low rumble, edged with dread.“I have to be,” I murmured, fingers tightening around the heavy cloak wrapped around my shoulders. It was more for comfort than protection. “No one else can do this.”“She wants me for a reason,” I continued, moistening my lower lip with the edge of my tongue. “I’ll use that. I’ll u

Luxiana SommerisI didn’t go home. Not until Elijah opened his eyes. Something was unsettling about watching someone lie unconscious in a hospital bed—so still, so silent, the steady beeping of machines the only confirmation that life still lingered within them. I stayed by his side, curled into the stiff hospital chair, watching the way his chest rose and fell. I listened to the sterile hum of the fluorescent lights and counted the cracks on the tiled ceiling just to keep myself grounded. I refused to leave. I refused to let him wake up alone. When he finally did, it was slow—his eyes fluttering open like he wasn’t sure if the nightmare had truly ended. And when his gaze landed on me, the dam broke. Tears welled up in his eyes, spilling down his cheeks as he reached for me like a drowning man catching hold of a lifeline.“You brought me back,” he whispered, his voice hoarse and shaky. “I was trapped… and it was your voice, your presence… that pulled me out.
