Luxiana Sommeris

“Hey, how are you?” Damien's voice was warm as he approached me after appearing in my room, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. “Was it difficult adjusting to the waking realm?”

I shook my head and offered him a small smile. “I'm managing. It still feels heavy sometimes, like carrying extra weight, but I guess I'm getting stronger daily.”

He chuckled at my words, his amusement evident. “You were pacing earlier. What’s on your mind? What is it you wanted to tell me?”

I hesitated, my fingers fidgeting as I searched for the right words. “Well… I met with Anton today. I told him I was willing to hear him out, to let him explain what he did to me.”

Damien studied me momentarily before reaching out and playfully ruffling my hair. “You don’t have to explain yourself to me. I trust you to do whatever you feel is right. But I appreciate you telling me.”

His unwavering support settled something deep within me, a quiet reassurance that no matter what happened, I wasn’t facing i

Luxiana SommerisThe next day arrived, and I was unusually eager to get to work. Today was Anton’s last day, and though I wasn’t sure why, a mix of anticipation and unease stirred in my chest. I had a parting gift for him—a book I cherished, one I hoped he would enjoy as much as I did.As I stood by my locker, carefully arranging my things, I caught sight of him walking in. Normally, he would at least acknowledge me with a nod or a casual greeting, but this time, he simply went straight to his locker, placing his belongings inside without so much as a glance in my direction.“Hey! Good morning! It’s your last day!” I greeted him cheerfully, expecting his usual greeting every morning. But he didn’t turn to face me. Something about the way he stood, stiff and distant, felt… off.“Anton?” I called again, a hint of concern creeping into my voice. This time, he finally stopped and turned to me. The moment our eyes met, I felt my breath hitch. His eyes—they looked different. There was a f

Luxiana SommerisA sharp twist coiled in my stomach. Kill who?I turned to Damien, searching his face for answers, but his gaze was locked on Lilith. His jaw clenched, tension rippling through him, his expression caught between fury and something else—something almost like regret. Did neither of them realize what they were doing?“She doesn’t belong to you, Lilith,” Damien growled, his voice a low rumble of restrained fury. “And I won’t let you drag her into your madness.”A chill crawled up my spine, stark against the heat between them. Me. They were fighting over me. Was this about my abilities as a oneiromancer? When Damien stepped forward, Lilith mirrored him, the space between them crackling like a live wire. The air felt charged, thick with tension, and I knew if they didn’t stop, the very fabric of the dream realm might unravel.Panic surged through me. They were going to hurt each other.I forced myself between them, raising my hands in a shaky attempt at peace. “S-Stop this!

Luxiana Sommeris“Then what do we do?” I asked my voice barely above a whisper, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on my chest.Damien exhaled sharply, running a hand through his dark hair, the strands falling back into place in effortless disarray. His jaw tightened, a muscle twitching as he processed the situation. “We wait. Observe. If he comes back to work on Monday, we’ll know something’s wrong. And if he doesn’t…” He let the sentence trail off, but the silence that followed spoke volumes.A cold shiver ran down my spine. I understood exactly what he meant, even if the words remained unspoken. “Then there’s nothing to be worried about… right?” I finished his thought, though I could hear the doubt creeping into my voice.Damien’s nod was slow, reluctant as if he wanted to believe it but couldn't quite convince himself. He let out a long, weary sigh, his shoulders tensing. “Aside from Lilith’s thirst for revenge, the Dream Walkers here are already making their move. They’re g

You’re everything I desire, and yet, I can't seem to get enough. If I had it my way, I’d have you again and again, every moment of every day.”A warm flush crept up my neck as I playfully smacked his shoulder. “Stop it, you're making me blush,” I giggled, trying to suppress the shy smile tugging at my lips. His gaze softened as he took my hands in his, giving them a gentle squeeze before murmuring, “We have a long night ahead of us, but I think my favorite part will be what happens inside that room.” He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, a teasing smirk playing on his lips. “But first, let’s have dinner.”The moment we stepped outside, the mouthwatering aroma of something savory filled the

Luxiana SommerisI arrived at work that morning feeling surprisingly refreshed. The events of last night in the dream realm had been exhilarating—an experience so vivid and thrilling that I wanted to relive it over and over again. After grabbing a quick breakfast, I headed straight to the library, only to find a group of employees gathered in hushed murmurs around something. Their expressions ranged from shock to deep concern.Curious, I stepped closer. “What’s going on?” I asked, tilting my head as I tried to peek over their shoulders. “Did something happen?”One of the senior staff members, Sir Davis, turned to me with a grim expression. “Oh, Luxiana, you need to see this,” he said, handing me a tablet. “It’s about the company Anton transferred to. Most of their employees were found dead—victims of severe nightmares. The survivors have been hospitalized.”My breath caught in my throat. “What?” I gasped, “Is Anton okay?” Without waiting for an answer, I pushed my way forward to see f

Luxiana SommerisWe placed our orders, choosing our drinks first before adding an assortment of savory pastries to the list. The café was warm, filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and buttery baked goods. The soft hum of conversation blended with the occasional clink of porcelain cups and the low whirr of the espresso machine. As we waited, I found myself watching Anton. There was something about him—an odd sense of detachment, as if he were present in body but not entirely in spirit. He smiled politely while speaking to Margaret, his voice even, his posture relaxed, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was all a carefully crafted façade. He didn’t seem distressed by the situation—the fact that his new workplace was barely functioning without its employees, the fact that people had died. Or maybe, I considered, he was doing his best to cope, forcing normalcy upon himself to keep from unraveling.Margaret, on the other hand, didn’t seem to share his calm exterior

Luxiana SommerisWhen we finally stumbled upon a coffee shop, we stepped inside, relieved to find the warmth of the café embracing us. The air carried the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee, mingling with the faint scent of vanilla and cinnamon. The place wasn’t crowded—hardly anyone was here, which wasn’t surprising considering it was nearly midnight.Soft, ambient music played in the background, a gentle piano melody that filled the otherwise quiet space. Dim yellow lights bathed the wooden tables in a golden glow, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere. A few customers sat scattered around, some engrossed in their laptops, others lost in their own world, sipping their drinks silently.Anton and I approached the counter, placing our orders. The barista, a tired-looking young woman with a ponytail, worked swiftly, her movements practiced as she poured steamed milk into a cup and drizzled caramel over the foam. Moments later, she handed me my caramel macchiato, its warmth seeping in

Luxiana SommerisThe first light of morning filtered through the seams of the canvas tent, casting a soft golden glow that kissed the curves of our tangled bodies. I stirred first, my eyes fluttering open to the quiet rustling of leaves outside and the low hum of a world slowly waking up. The fire had long since died out, leaving behind the faint scent of smoke and warm skin from shared heat.I shifted slightly, muscles sore in the most satisfying way, and felt Damien’s arms instinctively tighten around me. He was still asleep, lashes resting gently on his cheeks. His hold was protective, possessive in a way that didn’t suffocate—but comforted, like a promise unspoken.I smiled faintly, running my fingers lightly down his back, tracing the fine lines of old scars and new warmth. His skin was hot beneath my touch, his heartbeat steady beneath my palm, grounding me in a reality that still felt like a dream.“You’re awake,” he murmured, voice rough with sleep, eyes still half-closed bu

Luxiana Sommeris“We’ll camp here for the night,” Damien announced after finding a dark cave nestled between two jagged cliffs, its mouth yawning like an endless void. Shadows curled inward, and the further I looked, the more it seemed to stretch forever, as if it led to another world entirely.I glanced around, half-expecting a bear to lumber out from the darkness. The sky beyond the cave was painted in soft shades of pink salmon, slowly fading into lavender as dusk settled. Tiny stars began to blink into view, scattered like diamonds across a deepening canvas.“You can use your power to make a fire,” Damien said, his voice steady as he turned toward the cave’s entrance. “I’ll go gather some firewood.”“No need,” I replied, lifting my hand. “I can summon both the fire and the wood right here. Just stay with me.” I snapped my fingers, and just like that, a gentle flame flickered to life, dancing warmly in the growing chill of evening. He was always right—it really was easier when I

Luxiana SommerisThe moment our eyes fluttered open, reality returned in a soft, quiet rush. The dreamscape faded into the background like mist at dawn, leaving only the stillness of the waking realm. I blinked slowly, grounding myself in my room's familiar surroundings—dimly lit, the air cool and still, and humming faintly with energy. The protective sigils embedded in the walls shimmered for a brief second, reacting to our presence before settling once more into silence.“I’m really back in the waking realm,” Damien muttered under his breath, taking a cautious step forward. His eyes roamed over every corner of the room, calculating and observant. “Whoa… This place has a very distinct kind of barrier. It's not just protective—it's layered. Personalized. Was this your doing?”I nodded, unable to stop the smile tugging at my lips. There was something oddly satisfying in hearing him notice the effort I had put into securing my space. “Yes, I set it up myself,” I replied, my tone lig

The others lunged forward, clawing at the space between us with silent screams, their mouths gaping in distorted fury.I barely dodged in time—one claw scraped across my shoulder, a sudden, searing sting that made the vision in my right eye blur and flicker. But I didn’t hesitate. I countered with another incantation, this one more intricate and delicate, like tracing a sigil into the very air with trembling fingers and unshaken will. The second Walker halted, frozen mid-motion, trapped in a loop of its own making. It began to unravel from within, consumed by the very nightmare it had once fed upon. Its form collapsed inward, swallowed by an echo of its creation. But the last one came faster and smarter. It didn’t strike with claws or fangs. Instead, it reached for my mind, dragging me into a conjured illusion so vivid it felt like reali

Watching both of you.” She paused then, as if weighing her next words with great care. When she spoke again, each syllable dropped like a stone. “Someday, you two will have to part. Do you think you’ll be able to accept that?”We... have to?The question lodged in my chest like a thorn, buried deep and aching, unmoving. Luxiana SommerisThe wind outside had begun to howl, curling against the windows in long, eerie sighs, as though the very air sensed what was coming. It whispered secrets I wasn’t ready to hear, murmuring truths only the night could carry. The remnants of my dream clung to me like a second skin—cold, damp, and far too real. No warmth in the waking world could chase away the chill it left behind. Damien stood quietly at the edge of the room, his broad shoulders tense, his jaw tight. He didn’t have to say anything for me to know he felt it too—that strange pull in the atmosphere, the subtle shift that warned of danger ahead.“You’re sure about this?” he asked again, his voice a low rumble, edged with dread.“I have to be,” I murmured, fingers tightening around the heavy cloak wrapped around my shoulders. It was more for comfort than protection. “No one else can do this.”“She wants me for a reason,” I continued, moistening my lower lip with the edge of my tongue. “I’ll use that. I’ll u

Luxiana SommerisI didn’t go home. Not until Elijah opened his eyes. Something was unsettling about watching someone lie unconscious in a hospital bed—so still, so silent, the steady beeping of machines the only confirmation that life still lingered within them. I stayed by his side, curled into the stiff hospital chair, watching the way his chest rose and fell. I listened to the sterile hum of the fluorescent lights and counted the cracks on the tiled ceiling just to keep myself grounded. I refused to leave. I refused to let him wake up alone. When he finally did, it was slow—his eyes fluttering open like he wasn’t sure if the nightmare had truly ended. And when his gaze landed on me, the dam broke. Tears welled up in his eyes, spilling down his cheeks as he reached for me like a drowning man catching hold of a lifeline.“You brought me back,” he whispered, his voice hoarse and shaky. “I was trapped… and it was your voice, your presence… that pulled me out.
