Chapter 6

Anna looked around in fear as she called 919 for help. She was more than determined to set herself free and she could only do it now that the devil was away.

"Pick up this god-damned call" she fumed.

Her heart beat so fast , she nearly felt it popping out of her chest. 

She felt someone put a hand on her shoulder and she froze out of fear and dropped the phone immediately.

"What were you doing? Tyler asked

"no- nothing really" she stammered.

"Who were you calling ?

"I said nobody" she shouted and made to go.

Tyler drew her back forcefully by the arm thereby hurting her. She screamed and tried to break free from his grip.

"The more you struggle, the more you hurt yourself. You were trying to call 911 right? I thought you were given enough freedom over here. I will lock you in your room and that's it. You won't get to come out again.

"What the hell have I done to you? Why can't you just let me go? I need to go I have to go. Why are you keeping me hostage! 

"You are for me, you are mine , you are not going anywhere and that's final. Henceforth you are banned from coming out of your room.

She could not hold the tears that wanted to come out of her eyes. She allowed it flow freely as she sprawled on the floor. She was dragged back into her room and locked by a guard. She already lost all hope of escaping and soon fell into a deep slumber.

Tyler on the other hand went straight to his room, banging the door behind him, he threw himself on a chair and poured himself a whiskey, he was fuming inside.

"What if the Police had came? She would have gave them some hint about my business and given me out" he thought loudly.

He was not so sure why he didn't allow her to go. Every lady he had an affair with, he let them go after a day or two but she had been here for quite a while now and he was not ready to let her go any moment soon. 

"Was it love or was he just lost in lust?  He kept thinking.

He could not fall in love he never wanted to fall in love not after his last heartbreak.

Five years ago, he was so in love with Mary, his business associate. He was deeply in love with her and everyone knew about It. He would do anything just to see her happy . 

He already discussed wedding plans with her and was getting everything ready. One day he went to her place in a bid to surprise her with a ticket to the Maldives for a vacation.  He stopped in the hallway as he could hear some muffled sounds coming from her room. He looked through and saw her straddled untop of Bruno, his other business associate. They were having the best sex of their life. His knees grew weak and he felt hot tears falling down his face. Mary and Jane had been great friends but he never expected them to be lovers . She was cheating on him and made him felt like he was the only one she loved. That scene broke his heart but more shock was waiting for him.

He went back home heartbroken From the scene he just saw. Few days later during a business meeting, Mary and Bruno acted like nothing was happening between them, they giggled, talked and laughed as normal as they would on other days and Tyler said no word about what he saw that day. He wanted to keep it a secret because he still so loved her and wanted her. He overlooked many of her misdeeds but still it was not enough to keep her. News leaked out about his business and dealings which gave his rivals some edge over him. They penetrated his business and caused him great loss which also involved the police as as a clash happened. It led to him being arrested not until he was bailed out by his mother. He got to find out later that the whistle blower was Mary . She connived with his enemies to cause him havoc and wreck his business useless just so she could take everything he owned and escape with Bruno. When he got out of jail, Mary was the first person to come meet him at he expressing her sympathy and being all lovey dovey. 

She soon noticed his change of behavior towards her and she was surprised at the aloofness. She inquired to know what was wrong . 

"Whatever we shared before has surely come to an end this day Mary. I knew all along you never truly loved me. I did everything I could do, everything to keep a woman but what did you pay me with! Betrayal you devil.

Mary was stunned and scared at the same time hearing him say all that. 

"You have been dating Bruno while you and I had a wedding to plan, you connived with the same people that are against me just to get everything I ever worked hard for and escape with Bruno"

Mary was short of words and she felt like the ground should open up and swallow her. She pleaded with him to give her a second chance but he refused. He sent her away and told her to never come close to either him or anything that belonged to him. That was the last he ever heard from her. From that day , he lost all zeal to love and would rather play around with girls.

A knock on the door jolted him back to reality. He hated thinking about what happened five years ago.  He went to the door and ushered the person that knocked to come in.

"What's the problem?

The maid looked quite scared and he urged her to speak. 

"Anna has refused eating for quite a while now and no efforts to make her eat is working. Do you mind coming to talk to her please?

He picked his shirt and off he went over to her room.
