My phone dinged in the silence of her room and I grabbed it. A message from Dad and ten missed calls.

I didn't call or text Dad I won't be coming home until later. In fact I didn't know I would spend the night.I hurriedly got up and rushed to shower in Isla's bathroom. I got dressed and gently tapped her. She opened her eyes and yawned, smiling at me.
