I came back to my office in the jolliest mood in the longest time.

We were making headway.

At least Rory and I had gone from no contact to nickname basis again. I was not going to be greedy and ask for more than I deserved.

I took out my phone to see if I had missed any important messages while I was with the most important person in my life.

There was a message from Zoe. Messages. Fifty-three pictures from Ki's half-birthday party.

I smiled as I went through them carefully, not wanting to miss the tiniest details. I grimaced at the pictures with Derek in it and grinned at the ones that featured my three-person family.

I finally decided on a picture where Rory and I were holding our precious world in our arms as we kissed her cheeks. Ki, of course, was grimacing but that just made the picture all the more adorable. I set it as my phone wallpaper, letting out a sigh of contentment as I leaned back on my chair.

"Everything's going to be okay now," I told
