“Okay! Ah.. isn’t she at the University tomorrow?” Harlan just remembered. Is it really okay to meet her for lunch?
“Yes. We can go to the restaurant closer to her University so she won’t be late for her afternoon class.”
“Okay.. But that would mean that we would have to cut it short.” Harlan was sullen as he thought about it.
Even when they already know Diana’s identity, Harlan still feels that Diana is his favorite cousin.
“Then we’ll talk about meeting again afterwards.. No worries..” Winston chimed in.
“Hmm.. You got a point.” Harlan nodded.
“Sure, I do.” Winston smirked, making Harlan scrunch up his nose and Cassandra chuckle.
After their dinner, they went up to the nursery room to meet the baby.
The maid was inside, playing with the baby’s little hands and feet as the baby cooed.
At Henhall University the next day, Jayden Lewis looked at the back of the person he has been trying to get close to since the first day of classes. He kept wondering why it’s so hard to get close to even a few feet from her. It’s like each time he sees her and is about to approach, someone would suddenly pop out of nowhere and block his way. Once the person would finally walk away, Diana would already be gone by then. Jayden especially came to the University early this morning, planning to meet her. He waited outside of the classroom where Diana will attend for that day. He has already memorized her schedule from observing her all this time. At that moment, the woman was looking at the bulletin board outside of the room. She was looking at the posters and didn’t notice that he was standing a few feet away from her. ‘Good. She’s by herself.’ A grin pasted on Jayden’s fa
Jayden rubbed his nose which bumped into the tall and muscular man. He gasped when he realized that it was the man who kept blocking him time and again. “It’s you!” He pointed his finger at him. He glared incredulously at the person. The man just raised an eyebrow at him then walked away. But Jayden was too pissed to just let him go. If not for this person, he could have interacted with Diana already. Instead, this person just has to pop out everywhere like a mushroom. “Are you doing this on purpose?! What did I do to you? Why do you keep showing up in front of me? Are you gay? You’re interested in me?! Sorry but I don’t swing that way..” His barrage of questions didn’t even faze the person he was talking to. Emmett Foster just stared down at him in disdain. ‘This guy is wasting my time. Does he think Madam will take n
Across where Diana sat was a middle-aged woman with short red hair, wearing a blue surplice plain knitting bodycon dress. She was sitting between her husband who has ash-brown hair cut short and was wearing a beige slim fit turtleneck knitted sweater and brown slim fit pants and her son who had similar hair color but his hair had undercut on the sides and the middle was longer giving him a boyish look. He wore a dark grey sweater and grey slim fit pants. They were such a sight to see when they entered the restaurant. Cassandra wore light makeup and she was beautiful to look at. She could even be mistaken for a celebrity. Winston and Harlan were both handsome and clean-shaven. One would think they were heading to a photo shoot. Diana looked especially cute in a beige lantern sleeve pullover and brown tartan waist slim knee-length skirt. Since Lucas was from the Institute, he still wore a white dress shirt and brown dress pants. Both looked lovely together like
At this moment, the Barnes family are on their way to Winchester's company with Winston driving. “Mom, do you think grandpa is going to be back to managing the company soon?” “I don’t know, dear. He wanted to retire early that’s why he had Osmond manage it. But now..” Cassandra sighed, her brows knit together. “It’s also not wise to have Chantal manage it instead.” On that, the three of them would agree. “How is the company compared to the others?” Winston has been thinking about it. Would the company really survive now that Cassandra is managing it on behalf of Vergil? Or does his wife need to stay to keep the company afloat? “It’s not a good situation. And even when my dad was the one managing it, it’s still not that much compared to other companies. You know the biggest company, Griffin Entertainment. They’re the best in the field. The others are like ants compared t
When she saw the gold bracelet, she thought of Wyatt. Soon she wouldn’t be called his mom anymore. She thought that she could leave something for him. It’s only now that she has signed the papers to give up her rights that she felt some regrets. She was not confident that she could be a good mom towards him. All her life she has been praised by those around her, especially her own family. But now with her father gone forever, her mother far away with her grandparents and her other set of grandparents confined in the hospital, she only had Wyatt and the maids in the house. Although her aunt Cassandra was here for now, she knew that she would eventually go back to her family in Maconia. Also, she’s not particularly close to her Aunt. She could always remember the times when Diana would get along with her aunt more than her. She went home afterwards and went to see Wyatt in the Nursery room. The baby was sleeping like an angel in his crib.
“We could just do a video call. It would be better.” She snatched his phone from him and deleted the videos, she deleted it from the Trash too. Gunner didn’t stop her. He also looked forward to making this kind of video call with her. Back at the party, Sophie was becoming increasingly bored. Halynn and the others were not there with her. She managed to extract herself from the conversation and wandered into the back garden of the residence. It was already late in the evening, the sky had turned dark. Only the moonlight and lamp posts illuminated the back garden. There were heating lamps everywhere since it was already approaching winter. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer were worried that the guests would feel too cold, spending time outdoors in this weather. She sat on a bench and took out her phone, scrolling through her newsfeed. There were no new messages for her and she hadn’t thought of anything int
She gasped as she saw the face of a stranger. She didn’t look familiar to him. She turned towards the direction of the silhouette again, afraid that it would suddenly come close to her face. “Who were you talking to?” The man who just came behind her looked in the direction she was looking. “Him!” She pointed at the silhouette. “Ah?” The man fumbled for his phone and took it out. He turned on the flashlight and aimed it at the silhouette. It turns out it was only a sculpture. She heaved a sigh in relief. She felt incredibly stupid for mistaking it for a person. She needlessly gave herself a fright. The man chuckled, making her feel more embarrassed. “Talking to a sculpture, eh?” “I--I--didn’t see clearly. It was too dark..” She bowed her head, hiding her burning cheeks. “How long
Heart beating fast. Her nape started to feel hot. She just took a glance at him and it was already starting to warm her up. Before they reached the center of the labyrinth, she barely saw how he looked since the lampposts from where the sculpture that scared her was until the entrance here was not working. Since she has almost made the decision to warm her body up through being intimate with him, she might as well take a look first. Who knows? Maybe if she sees that he doesn’t suit her taste, the feeling of anger for being flirted with by an unattractive person would probably warm her enough too. But what can she say now? He was more than suited to her taste. This is a man! Not young men like Harvey or Joe, or Jayden or Olly. Carlos didn’t have a boyish look on his face at all! He was a manly-man. His hair was cut short, his
